    Great deal

Ozbargain got me again, wasn't in the market for a new coffee machine until this deal

    • I have the De'Longhi Magnifica S from the $350 deal, this is very tempting..

  • +1

Honestly very happy with this machine, coffee is hot and I have it on one of the coolest settings, really easy to clean and use

  • +5

Well that wasn't something I thought I was buying today!

Curious how well these make coffee vs manual brewing. Got a Breville Barista Pro but sometimes wonder if I should have just gotten an automatic.

    • +1

Also have a Barista Pro but looking forward to an automatic machine

    • +5

Like many other things in the life it is a personal choice - I know people who are happy with Nescafe Blend 43 - they after just quick black water with some caffeine in it. :)

Only YOU can tell us if you are happy with Breville Barista Pro or you should go for Rocket R Nine One.

Not a direct comparison to the one in the OP, but I have a Philips 2200 Series LatteGo as well as the Breville Barista Pro.

The Philips is quite wasteful with beans and no amount of dialing/adjusting the settings has ever got me anywhere near the quality that the Breville can produce. The results are very inconsistent in that the yield can vary greatly from cup to cup. I thought that maybe the grinder wasn't able to grind the same amount each time and that was affecting the yield, but then I also had the same issue using the pre-ground function so I suspect it might actually be the auto tamper not being able provide the right amount of force.

I gave up on it and the only time we use it now is if we have a lot of guests over and need to get coffee done faster.

Right after warranty expired it lost pressure and started leaking. Very common problem it seems as I found countless videos on YouTube that helped me troubleshoot where the leak was coming from. It turned out to be bad O-rings on the outlet nozzle and very cheap/easy to fix myself.

Knowing what I know now I would never again consider one of these Philips machines. The convenience it provides while making coffee is just not worth the substantial drop in quality and having to deal with various issues and cleaning/greasing the brew group.

    • It's really personal taste. These things will not satisfy officionados but if you are just after a quick cuppa and want minimal faff then they fill that niche. Check out a workflow video though, they do require filling and cleaning etc. if you want something a bit simpler then a pod machine.

How do these machines compare to the DeLonghi Magnifica Evo?

  • +1

    Thanks!

Wasn't even looking for a coffee machine cause I don't drink enough coffee to warrant getting a dedicated coffee machine, usually just keep a few Hunt & brew iced coffees in the fridge.

But for the price I guess I'll start binge drinking coffees now.

  • Is this good for an office environment? Ie go to sleep and have to wait like 5min to make a coffee? Or just have to descale every week kind of thing. Office of 10.

    • Yah 10 would do. Need some housekeeping rules etc

  • i think this one better for 50$ more after ebay codes:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/906239

    • From the comments:

It does require a bit of maintenance and cleaning, the descaling process is a PITA takes 45m.

Everything has pros and cons I guess

  • Worth it over a Nespresso Pod Machine?

    • 100%

    • +1

Depends if you like the coffee they make better than pod coffee

    • Cheaper to run over time if you drink a lot of coffee for sure.

  • +3

    I have one from 2021
    Been very solid
If needed to replace it I would jump on this. Absolute bargain

    • +9

      I would jump on this

      That would void the warranty.

  • Can anyone comment if this machine is better than this De'Longhi - https://www.amazon.com.au/DeLonghi-Magnifica-Automatic-Coffe…
Would the Philips be an upgrade? Mainly used for espressos.

    • Buy first and ask later :) now it’s gone.

Saw this and decided to purchase after a quick shower, and now $300 coupon is gone!

    • after a quick shower

I didn't find it that exciting.

      Expensive shower :)

Moral of the story? Never shower

  • Wow I only just placed the order and already expired, sorry if I took the last one! Now just to look for beans

  • Oh damn this reminds me. I'm on holiday and forgot to clean out the dispenser.

Solid deal, everyone buying it instead of upvoting

  • Hopefully this 2025 model has fixed the milk based coffee temperatures. I didn't like putting coffee in microwave soon after making it and I returned the machine for a refund.

  • Exactly what I was waiting for but a few hours too late :/

Do vouchers like this ever come back or do they usually expire after a certain number of uses?

    • I would lean towards the latter however, you can always refresh the listing page every now and then to see if any new vouchers have come up.

Having said that, tbh my opinion is that this has been a price error by Amazon as the $300 discount was applied twice instead of it being applied once. First it was (%) discounted to $899 (from $1199) to match the lowest competitor price in the market and then an additional $300 coupon was made available to redeem. One could argue that it should have been one or the other not both as combination of double discounts would have likely pushed it below cost price. Reason why the voucher code may have been pulled back not too long after. Again this is just a theory and stems off my personal opinion.

Price error or not, hopefully everyone get their orders fulfilled by Amazon.

      • Yeah, got charged $899 but got hold of Amazon customer service and within 5 minutes was sorted, she confirmed delivery for June 12 and confirmed should receive $300 refund within 3 business days.

I'm assuming it wasnt meant to be $599 as even she said was technical glitch.

        • Wow strange that you got charged $899 assuming you did select the $300 voucher on the listing page?

Delivery slated for June 12th sounds a bit late. I had my unit delivered today even though ETA was for 30th May.

Yeah by this point, $599 is more and more looking like an unfortunate error on their part. Ultimately, I guess power to those who pounced in time!

          • @BargainHuntahh: Definitely used coupon, even the invoice says it was $599 but still got charged $899.

It's been sent and ETA from aus post says maybe 5th June arrival but my invoice has mysteriously updated on Amazon to show purchase price of $899 now.

If I don't get the refund it'll be return to sender I guess.

            • @Jarryd90: Jeez thats even stranger. I guess this just goes to show that the $300 voucher wasn't supposed to be made available in the first place.

For your sake I hope they refund you the $300, if not, then yeah their RTS process is pretty streamlined lol

              • @BargainHuntahh: Yeah, the customer service agent I spoke to said she's started the refund process.

Hopefully I get the $300 refund, id like to keep the machine but only at $599.

  • Good luck brother! I hope you get your refund soon. Cheers.

Probably not worth posting as a separate deal, but I just ordered the same model for $734.19 delivered from JB Hi Fi. A JB Perks coupon came through on email Tuesday for 20% off ticket price of Phillips coffee machines. Stacked with ticket ‘special’ price of $899. The coupon was meant to be for Wed only but still working today - YMMV.
