Very new camera but its getting rave reviews. Possibly ATL. $2699 in most shops. The guts are very similar to the internals of the Zf but it has a more ergonomic body. Personally I just bought a Zf (for the looks and vintage appeal) but enthusiasts / semi-pros might appreciate this (especially if you are using longer lenses)

    Note - there isn't a Z 24-200 f/4 lens - (there is a constant f/4 aperture Z 24-120) - the Z 24-200 is a variable aperture f/4-6.3 lens

    • Good catch, thanks

Did you get the Zf for a good price? Digidirect with the 20% if still dearer than others at the moment I am hoping for a decent eofy deal on one.

    • Unfortunately its a very popular camera. The cheapest I could get it for was $2888 (Amazon, Hardly Normal etc.). I got JB to price match it (I prefer JB and also my company lets me get JB gift cards at 5% discount). Also Nikon promotion running until end of the month should be an additional $200 off. All in all I paid $2888 (price match at JB) - 5% gift card - $200 Nikon promotion = $2543. Not the best price ever, but I don't think we will have that JB sale (~$1800) again :(

P.S. - If you're after the coloured versions (Grey looks sick IMO), Digi is the only way to get under $2.9k at the moment. They've inflated the prices everywhere.

That jb deal definitely was the bench mark and thats still a decent price you got. I also have access to the jb 5%, thanks for the link.

      • I love my Indigo Blue Zf its just so easy and fun to use as a daily ! Gorgeous files

Here's the link to the promotion if you pick one up by the end of the month. Good luck! https://www.nikon.com.au/switchtoz

  • Worth to wait the EOFY sales?

Z5II just released, doubt there'd be any decent sales better than this just yet.

Might be able to get the Zf at these prices though

I almost bought it last night when I discovered this deal. looking back on my Z6 shots (same sensor as this), I really enjoyed the system, apart from focusing that has been addressed with these EXPEED 7 cameras. Nikon's F1.8 S primes are top notch and if you like shooting primes, TCO of Nikon is second to none, as you can have 35mm, 50mm, 85mm 1.8 primes relatively cheap. pro zooms are expensive like in every system, but pro primes are awesome value and quality.

but no, decided that I don't want this already aging sensor. plus 25mp will be a step down from what I have now. wish the sensor in Z6iii was good for photography lol

Nikon is on the roll lately!!

  • Great price, but I am not quite comfortable with eBay! If it is Amazon, I would literally buy it now.

Digidirect is a reliable seller with local warranty, and my experience (as a buyer) with eBay has been pretty good. I do agree though Amazon customer service is excellent. What I don't like about Amazon is the way their prices fluctuate based on demand and competitor prices, instead of providing the best price possible.

      • yes, they are cheeky sometimes. But peace of mind is priceless with Amazon.

        • +1

I find the risks similar. Amazon is safe when you purchase from Amazon AU and not a reseller. I've read a lot of horror stories of people who buy from resellers on Amazon (grey stock). eBay is safest when you buy from a store which has a physical brick and mortar shop / ABN etc. All the best mate don't forget to share on OzB if you find a good deal :)

      • I think Digidirect do this as well, raise their eBay prices to full RRP when they have sales. Still a good chance to get things on sale that don't usually go on sale.

Bought my A7iii from DigiDirect ebay , no issues with them.

Have bought many items from DigiDirect ebay as no shipping fee for ebay plus users.
    Sometimes cheaper than their website

Quite quick postage and genuine products.

still bloody tempting I gotta say, come oooooon zf deals

    • Thanks, I've updated the post.

I caved and bought my Zf for ~$2550 (JB price match + 5% gift cards + $200 Nikon promo). I received my Nikon gift card yesterday was super quick. I think the cheapest way to get the Zf at the moment (Aussie stock) is through Digidirect eBay 20%. I love it so far the feel in the hands is very tactile.

      • I've got access to the nikon partner portal through reward gateway, they've got the body only for $2724 and the 40mm kit for $3092, so works out to be about the same after the eftopos deal.

I'm close but something a little cheaper definitely would push me over.

        • That's a decent price. My brain wanted the Z5ii but my heart always wanted the Zf :) they're practically the same camera. Is the partner portal available for everyone?

          • @bindok: Don't think so, I got it through the reward gateway platform (through work). I think you can get it for around $10/mo otherwise.

And yep there's where I'm at, head says go Z5ii, heart says go used GFX. Zf is the medium ground for now.
