After trade up -$200 and asking for a 10% loyalty discount in chat, I got it down to $1079.10
This product cannot be delivered to a number of postcodes in NSW, QLD, VIC and WA (as well as all of TAS and NT).

I just got a LG C4 42" and it's a brilliant monitor. I had a 4k 32 and worried the C4 would be too big but I find it better than the 32.
Cheers
My only problem is I think I missed the runout stock
any pros or cons of using it as monitor vs buying an actual monitor like this one?
Cons are that the C4 takes a lot of tweaking to get good colors, brightness and fonts (I was using IPS so not sure if this also applies to OLED monitors). Pros are that once you've tweak it, it looks great.
? thats strange, i just checked on EDU portal, the trade in is $100
I just dont know how to get the $200 trade in. i tried both normal and edu store.
Are you sure its the same product? Original comment is right from what I see.
Newer model, different gui
“Free” 2TB nvme
https://www.centrecom.com.au/samsung-odyssey-oled-g8-g81sf-3…
Any comparisons?
Edit:
G81SF:
brighter (260 vs 250 cd/m2)
new USB ports (USB 3.2 Gen1 vs USB 3.0)
audio jack port
new? better? anti-glare coating (not sure about this)
G80SD:
g-sync compatibility (G81SF don't have cert yet)
Tizen OS + remote
WiFi
Bluetooth
Speakers 10W
the reason i got the G80SD is specifically for the TizenOS + remote so i can lie in bed at the end of the night and watch movies. it also helps because streaming platforms recognise that its a tv and actually load in 4k as most people who know this will know the struggle of trying to get any decent quality streaming out of the windows 11 apps and browsers (its impossible for some reason)
Weird they took G-Sync off the new model
The Dell is only 120hz.
Equivalent Dell model would be this:
https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/alienware-32-4k-qd-oled-gami…
It has been on sale previously for $1208
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/858525
is the Equivalent Dell model better than this monitor?
Rtings compare said samsung has better picture quality if you dont need dual mode
Hmm yeah, I have a Zowie 360hz and was thinking the dual mode can replace it, but for competitive gaming the Zowie is likely way more comfortable and adjustable so thinking that I just keep it and “drag and drop” it in front of the OLED monitor whenever I needed it.
Thanks vitamin c - did you get a code for loyalty discount?
How did you access chat? Was it through checkout or before ordering
Start chat and ask for loyalty voucher. They will ask for a samsung product serial number to provide you one.
Don't forget to use cashback. I got 10% cashback and after all my coupons and trade in came to $860 delivered.
where are you getting 10% cb?
There was 10% cashback yesterday from Shopback.
Thanks, there is 10% today again. Let me know how you go getting Shopback to track.
Hmm. They nerfed the trade in bonus to 100 and the 10% code no longer works.
RIP
I stand corrected. The 10% doesn’t stack with 50 off.
I’m having trouble deciding
I don’t think I want curved.. but not excited on matte coating either
Alright
Went online and got 10% voucher
Then traded in my old shitty Samsung monitor that cost me $180 for another $100
Down to $1169.10
Even cheaper than the Alienware at 1332. This tipped me over.
Hopefully the matte coating doesn’t bother me. I think the curve would have annoyed me more.
$1259 on EDU portal.
Shame the education portal only offers $25 for trade-in as opposed to the $200, would have been $1059.
On a side note, this or LG C4 for similar price with ample desk space?
