How do you figure? Where is the innovative product that will capture apple's market?
I'd love more competition in the mobile and table space, but it really isn't there.
Plenty of innovation and competition is coming from other companies, but walled gardens and ecosystems that are determined by where you live in the world effectively narrow your choices.
Living in the Anglosphere or Japan? Get an iPhone.
Living in a different Asian or Central/South American country? Android phones are your friend.
Living in a different European country? Your choice.
Happy to hear about examples of innovation from other companies, but I haven't really seen much. I use an android phone and have an iPad, so I am very keen on finding the best solution, not just what some silicon valley product manager decided is best in my region.
@mskeggs: Of course, they didn’t decide what’s best in what region. It’s all connected and intersecting.
It’s primarily dependent on socioeconomic status of people in a country, but there are also other cultural factors to take into account.
There’s a lot of information out there covering mobile OS market share.
@mskeggs: Agreed. Apple has not been very innovative with iPad but so are all other Android tablets manufacturers. The only new tablet with new idea is the folding tablet from Huawei? Not sure how well that will work at this stage.
