nbn FTTP 250/100 is available without an ABN for $85/M for 6 months ($99/m ongoing).

nbn 100/20 $75/M for 6 months ($95/m ongoing - change provider after 6 months).

Returning customers, who have previously been with Superloop and already received a six (6) month discount promotion, will not be eligible for a new promotion for a period of twelve (12) months.

Carrier Grade Network Address Translation (CG-NAT) and Static IP address.

Superloop use CG-NAT which works fine for most users. CG-NAT can break remote access to some home security cameras, some home automation products, Plex server, NAS, servers or if you want to host online P2P games. When you turn off CG-NAT you will be able to use remote access and host online P2P games again. Leave CG-NAT turned on if you don't do any of this.

If your home security cameras and automation products use a cloud server you will not be affected by CG-NAT.

You can get Carrier Grade NAT turned off for free if needed. Call up Superloop support or use the Superloop online chat on the Superloop website (red and black icon, bottom right).

$5/month is for a static IP address (this also turns off CG-NAT).

@Twix: That's a huge help, thanks! I'm on FTTC, but looks like I'll pass on that one.

            • @Finner: All good. Have you looked at FTTP?

Leaptel has 100/20 $69.95/m for 12 months when you swap from FTTC to FTTP. 100/20 gets boosted to 500/50 FTTP from September.

              • @Twix: I'm in a strata managed apartment block so my hands are a bit tied, but I am trying. My line is limited to about 80Mbps, so 50/20 is the best I can get at the moment. Thinking of jumping to the Buddy deal and will see how things go with FTTP over the next few months.

                • @Finner: Yeah the FTTP speed boosts might make it an easier sell to strata and residents. How many apartments?

                  • @Twix: Only 9, but old building so probably dodgy old copper for the current connection. I'm just waiting for the OC manager to get back to me if we're eligible for the upgrade.

                    • @Finner: Check here and it will tell you.

$275 per apartment is not bad if they get that price. You have to put it to a vote with everyone. If there is a majority and you can get the money FTTP goes ahead. If a neighbour still doesn't want FTTP they can decline or get connected in the future.

Does the strata have a fund for maintenance and upgrades?

                      • +1

@Twix: Yeah, that's the one I passed on to the OC manager to submit an upgrade request a few weeks ago, but will poke them for an update next week.

I've been really happy with Superloop's service. I've just had my 50/20 bumped to $85/m though which is taking the piss. Going to see if this deal can be applied to me and if not I'm finally walking.

    • In the same boat - the best they could do was $10 off for 12 months after 'speaking to their supervisor'. You need to reject their initial offer of $5 for 6/12months. I quoted More NBN's pricing of $67 for the 100/17 plan (after 30% Commbank discount), and they said they'd contact me during the cancellation period if they sweeten their deal.

      • Sorry just to clarify - they basically told you to stick it?

        • Gave me the usual spiel that this deal is only for new customers and it's special pricing that nbn can do for 6 months etc. They said they'd call me if they can do better than $10/month but I'm not holding my breath.

      • Also in this boat, and frustrated that my FTTC internet speed can't get over about 85Mbps to move onto what seem like better value plans at higher speeds, so stuck with overpriced 50/20 options - $85 really feels excessive, but service has always been good. Maybe a $10 discount for 12 months would be ok.

I don't know what Origin is like as a provider, but they have discounts for electricity/gas customers I've also been considering them.

        • I’m paying less for a 250/25 Spintel connection, unfortunate about the FTTC though.

        • Origin use Superloop's network for nbn services.

    • What's been wrong with the service?

    • Switch to Swoop you can get 100/20 for $72 or 50/20 for $69 for 6 month and their service is same as Super loop

I was paying $95 for 100/40 with Super loop and was supposed to increase to $100 in June so switched to Swoop 100/20 for $72 and could not be happier

I have FTTP so 100/20 will be upgraded to 500/50 Mbps in September

Take this with a grain of salt, but there are unconfirmed reports that Superloop suffered a data breach earlier this month.

  • +1

I was with TPG and Dodo for year, I'd not had a single disconnection in years. Moved to Superloop (HFC) and it was disconnecting every single week, with downtime for hours. I then moved property and got Superloop Fibre 1gig plan too and at least 1 outage a week still. (with SMS notice). I wouldn't get this again tbh.

    • All good here using FTTP. Did you tell SL support?

      • They said it was all NBN side, which I got SMS in advance to notify me from SL. But still rock stable for years and the hour I moved then downtime for weeks, doesn't make sense.

        • Agreed. Were the FTTP outages after 12am?

    • What TPG service did you have? If it was something like TPGs FTTB, this was/is with very few/no outages, and if you switched to SL, it could very well be NBN upgrades. Would probably be the same regardless of RSP on NBN. Did you move a long way from your previous address?

  • +1

105 bucks for gigiabit speeds on opticomm is pretty good and all opticomm fiber is FTTP so we get the full speed too.

    • Except mine crashes a few times a day, around 6pm to 8pm.

      • you know this is the strange thing people complain about the price of city communications but i have never had down time with those guys ever. maybe i should stick with them and just eat the price for now.

  • +1

Our bigpond broadband is going from $105 to $109 per month from July. Ouch!

  • +1

Don't forget the referrer links at top of page here

  • i am paying 84.9 with 100/20 tangrine. is it worth moving?

    • Is that $84/m ongoing or a 6 month deal?

      • nah, after 6 month deal. however, just checkedd the new bill. they are increasing charges to 86.76 per month for 100/20

        • I would swap to Superloop, Leaptel or Buddy Telco.

          • @Twix: Buddy telco never heard of how are they? Do they use good GSL global network?

            • @neonlight: Buddy Telco is Aussie Broadband. Buddy costs less than Aussie BB and there is no call centre. This deal has more details.

GSL isn't listed on the network map however I don't know when it was last updated.

    • I pay $80 for 250/25 with Spintel.

  • +1

We moved to Superloop a few months back. Were on Telstra Velocity, then got moved to Uniti from Opticomm when Telstra sold the network.

They couldn't have been worse, promising speeds and never delivering.

Went to Optus 5G, but left and are now with Superloop 1000/50 and couldn't be happier. Speeds always wired at 850/900+ and wifi at least 250 even in peak and bad areas of the house.

  • +2

Things change so quickly. Superloop used to be the gold standard and now they loathed.

    • +2

Was until they got famous and don't care anymore. Bad customer service, 30 days notice rubbish, portal doesn't work never got it fixed even asked for password reset etc and price hike

  • +4

Left these guys and won't be looking back. Billing issues, constant price increases and false promises

    • +1

      Agree SL became shockingly bad

  • +4

    Been paying $99 for 1000/50 😬😬 that’s locked for another 7-8 months

  • -1

seems to be a new thing that offers only valid for "new customers" - Tangerine (you should never have been a customer ever), Superloop - should not have been a customer in past 12 months with this discount….guess they don't want our business?

    • +1

New nbn customer offers have been going on for years.

  • +1

is it really necessary to call to cancel? can't we just sign up with a new provider?

    • +3

If you just churn out they will charge you the 30 days notice period even when they aren’t providing a service anymore because you churned. It’s got to be illegal, surely.

  • If you churn from Tangerine to Superloop on the start of next billing cycle, do you need to notify Tangerine and would get get billed for 1 day?

  • Wait till black saturday for 12 months promo🙏

    • I am on the previous Black Friday deal from November 2024. The promo is $20 off for the first 12 months and at the time, it brought the 1000/50 down to $89 per month. I then managed to downgrade the plan to 250/25 which was $99 less $20 = $79 per month. Sounds like the best option for me is to hang tight until the Black Friday offer expires as it seems better than what's on offer at the moment.

In either case, I very irrationally have 250/25….with Wifi 5! My justification is that I am in the market for a Tri-band Wifi 7 Mesh set-up…

  • Have 100 down rn with FTTC - if I went to 1000 with the FTTP, would i need a new modem/router?

    • Maybe. What router are you using?

      • Pretty sure It's the Asus TUF Gaming AX4200 Wi-Fi 6 Router.

        • +1

Asus TUF Gaming AX4200 is capable of Gigabit wired ethernet. You get 920-970Mbps on a speedtest. This review reached a maximum of 575Mbps using Wi-Fi 6.

  • Moving to Spintel from Superloop NBN. would the eero 6+ works as a BYO modem?

    • +1

eero 6+ router is compatible with all providers.

  • +1

Just moved from my existing 100/40 to 250/100 at the same price, finally some reasonably priced decent upload speed!

    • which provider? suprloop?

    • I think that's a trap because you don't get the free upgrade

      =====
100/20 Mbps will be replaced or upgraded to 500/50 Mbps for eligible users.
250/25 Mbps will be replaced or upgraded to 750/50 Mbps, offering more than double the performance.

1000/50 Mbps will be replaced or upgraded to 1000/100* Mbps, improving upload speeds significantly.

      • That's not until September - at that point I'll probably churn to whoever's offering a decent 1000/100 connection. Besides, 250 down vs 1000 down doesn't mean much to me.

        • Yeah just read about September, pretty dumb move, people would be a lot less annoyed if the speed upgrade and price increase happened at the same time, not price increase now, speed increase months away

  • +3

250mbs just increased to $104 a month. Wtf, Australia. Our internet is too expensive.

    • It's getting to the point where Starlink is becoming a viable option. Even for those with options.

    • it's because it's going to be upgraded to 750/50 but apparently with superloop not for free, they're charging even more

  • Easily the worst customer service I have ever encountered. The hours, and hours I have spent sitting on the phone, only to get cut off soon after I get a response, has driven me to dustraction. I'm going back to Aussie Broadband, which has some of the best customer service I have ever experienced.

Pay a bit extra, for a lot extra.

    • Try Leaptel or Buddy Telco. What speed plan do you want?

      • -1

I've just re-signed with AusBB. My speeds were promised to be around 900Mbps but I am lucky to get 200. I eventually managed to get a response from Superloop, who gave me some instructions on how to sort out he speed issue. As expected, it didn't work at all, and I really don't want to spends many more hours trying to sort it out with a tech in India.

        • +1

Is that 1000/50 for $129/m with Aussie BB?

Buddy Telco has 1000/50 $99/m ongoing using the Aussie BB network. IPv4 with CG-NAT and a static IPv6 /48 block. Static IP for IPv4 can be added for an extra $5/month and this turns off CG-NAT.

Buddy Telco are using a chatbot and live chat support. There is no call centre.

Leaptel has 1000/50 $99/m for 12 months and a local call centre.

    • I've only ever had to call up Superloop tech support once, and the service was more than fine.

      • -1

        You're very lucky.

  • +1

Doesn't look like it's valid for Opticomm connections?

    • nbn only.

  • +1

I'm currently on Telstra 100/25 plan (HFC) and it costs $110/month (international calling pack included). Since Telstra has recently removed the international calling pack from my plan, and wants to charge me extra to have it added back on, I think it's time to switch to other provider.

Quite tempted to try the Superloop 1000/50 but not sure if there are any better plans on the similar cost.

  • I've been on Superloop's 250/50 plan since Christmas 2024 at $79pm with an $85 cashback that got paid early this month. That works out at $72pm if I only stay the 12 months. Watching the pricing hop around that could very well be the case but I'm sure it will be a very different kettle of fish by the time November/December rolls around.

  • +1

Think I might hop back onto Superloop for these prices. Even though Leaptel's service has been super solid and I had way more drop outs in the middle of the night with Superloop before, these prices are just too hard to ignore. $85 vs $109 is quite significant.

Just signed up again and used referral: (Mod: Edited). Enjoy your discount!

  • when will this deal last for?

    • Until July 22.

  • Try Swoop very good service 100/20 is only $72 and it will be upgraded to 500/50 from Sept

No 30 days notice period required to cancel like Superloop.

I emailed to cancel but superloop refused to accept the notice to cancel.

I also signed up in November 2021 well before Superloop introduced the 30 days notice period in January 2023. Prior to 2023 only their sister company Exetel had the 30 days notice requirement.,

    Hi xxxxxxxxxxxx

Thank you for your enquiry. Please note we have notified you of the plan change via email, which was sent to you on the xx June 2024 to the email address [email protected].

  • Sorry a little off topic but do you guys think 100/20 (with “More”) is good enough for work and online gaming? How much is overkill?

I have the option of TPG fibre at my address which goes up to 500/25 apparently, but I wouldn’t get as much of a discount as with More (commbank)

    • +1

More should be okay. If it's not you can easily change. Is it the 100/20 $67.20/m CommBank Yellow offer?

TPG fibre is FTTB. What kind of nbn do you have?

      • No it’s the commbank homeloan offer - $50 off per month with More for 3 years, so it would be $30/mo I guess (80-50).

FTTB is what I have according to the NBN address check, and the TPG specific one says I have access to TPG fibre.

        • +1

There are two types of FTTB. Both are fibre to the building and copper to the home. TPG fibre FTTB and nbn FTTB with TPG or More.

TPG fibre FTTB speed can range from 100-1000/25-50 down/up compared to nbn FTTB 100/20. You will have to work out the speed vs cost benefit.

          • +1

@Twix: Thanks for clarifying - that part makes sense. I was more asking if 100/25 is enough for online gaming and whether I would actually benefit from, for example, 500/25 outside of downloading the initial game/updates a bit faster.

You made a good point though, I could just start with the cheaper/slower one easily upgrade. I’m used to 50 down at the moment which is fine for work but I haven’t gamed in a long time.

            • +1

@jaefkbgvbqldqif: All good. 100/25 is good enough for most. Yeah you mostly notice the faster game updates.

    • +2

How serious are you about online gaming?

I've gone down the rabbit hole of optimising my system and internet.

Higher internet speed can be beneficial if you have other people using the internet at the same time you're gaming.

      Look into bufferbloat.

  • +1

I swapped to Superloop earlier this year from ABB.
    No issues so far.

Waiting for cashback from TCB to be approved (22 weeks)
Can get up to $90 via TCB atm.

  • +1

I requested a start date on 2nd June and they connected me today. What the actual fork? God damn it now I'm regretting it.

    • Same signed up yesterday, I wanna call and say I need the $10 bucks month off!!

      • Oh no I got this price, but I wanted a later start date! Did you sign up with a different price?

  • +4

So frustrating, have been with them for years now and been subject to price increase after price increase. They sent out an emails saying we could speak about financial support yet when I reached out they said they couldn't provide any help.

Will be looking for other companies.

  • +2

250/100 without ABN is a nice addition! Waiting to see ISP pricing for new plans NBN Co are rolling out later this year

  • Guys, I need help comparing this with Telstra NBN. I am on the Premium NBN plan. I don’t know what speed it is.

    • Telstra premium is 100/20.

      • So I take it that this deal is way better. Am I right?

        • Way better. Telstra 100/20 is about $110/m.

  • Go switch to origin they use the same network and bundle for your energy bill

  • i think i got the 12 month from a black friday deal with superloop, so i will be looking to switch in 6 month time. hopefully a deal somewhere pops up

    • Don't forget 30 day cancellation period

      • Any tips on how to line up 30days cancellation notice with churn date to new ISP?

  • So basically existing customers all cop a price increase for this discount to apply… very good business…

    • +1

All providers do this. Change provider to get deal.
