End of last year there was a similar deal. Got it for my son and it was all good.

My plan with Kogan (e-SIM) just expired and this is pretty much the best 365day plan i can find at 275-150 = $125.

Did that last night, whole process took about 15min and all good. Tracked in Cashreward already.

  • Anyone knows when it needs to be activated? I have 40 days on my current plan

    • +1

Got the reply from a rep,”Thank you for getting in touch with our team, I hope you’re having a great day.

We’ve followed up with the merchant regarding your enquiry, and they’ve confirmed that there is no specific activation time frame required for their SIM card to be eligible for cashback.

If you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to help.

      Sincerely,
      Peter

      • I just received my physical SIM and it states: "Activate within 30 days of purchase, or by the date advertised on a promotion [30 June 2025], whichever is earlier to receive advertised inclusions." While you can activate it after June 30, you may only get 220GB instead of the full 300GB. Unlimited calls and texts still apply either way. I also contacted Optus support and they confirmed it’s best to activate before June 30 to ensure you get the full 300GB — otherwise, you might miss out on 80GB. My current plan ends in August, so I might just cut it short by 2 months and activate the Optus sim now instead.

        • But would the 40 GB equal to the 2 month you have paid the previous company.

Mist important is does a delayed activation nullify the cashback

          • @sn809: Cashback is still eligible. Although the data allowance maybe 220gb like @BlandRogue mentioned

@kay007: ok, confirmed and mods have modified original post, cashback only applicable if activated in 28 days from order, so those wanting to extend be careful of timing.

  • I just signed up for this. Didn't mention anything about porting. Do I call them up and port in my existing number after it arrives?

    • +1

When you activate the SIM, it will ask for the porting.

  • Cashback is eligible on new sign ups only.

do i need to register a new cashback account? or this means new optus account

    • New Optus account.

      • thx mate

  • If my existing number, which I ported over from another provider, was previously with Optus, am I still eligible for cashback?

  • I know I could go back and check the post, but from memory, weren't there more than a few that actually followed the wrong link for the similar Optus deal back in Nov… hence, no cashback?

I was sweating on it, hoping, but mine eventually came through after the 4 months.

  • I checked my previous cashback date. Purchased in Nov 24 and got $100 cashback in March 25. Just activated the new sim and thank god tethering works on the Nokia Fastmile.

  • Just login to Cashrewards site and it says the offer 'Expires: Jun 8, 2025, 11:59:00 PM' - better hurry if you're still considering….

  • Seems like cashreward has updated their terms? eSIM is eligible for cashback

  • +2

Looks like the deal back up again

  • “Terms & conditions
Activation Bonus Data: New services only. 300GB for first 3 recharges within 3 years of activation, then 220GB (or as otherwise notified).”

Is that means I can activate after 30Jun still get 300GB (but within 28 days to get cashback) ?

  • Will i get 2 cashback on my cashreward account if i sign up 2 optus sim on different emails? One for myself and one for my wife

  • How long does it take for the Sim to be delivered?

    • +1

I ordered one on the 8th June. Received my sim today via startrack and required ID and signature. YMMV

  • Ordered last not (June 12th at 11:55 PM SYD) but it still didn't track :(

  • Just placed an order for a physical SIM card using a new email and cashback tracked 5 minutes later.

  • What does "Cashback is eligible on new sign ups only" mean?

In 2018, I had a postpaid optus plan which I cancelled in 2020. I still have an optus account but when I log in, it shows that I have no active services and essentially is an empty account with old details. However, this optus account has my current phone number that I'm hoping to port into registered as the registered mobile number.

Would I be eligible for cashback as a new sign up, if I have an inactive old optus account with no active services (as described above) ? - assuming I sign up with a new email address and create a new optus account with this new email address.

    • To avoid any risk, definitely use new email address when signing up.

  • I purchased 2 in 2 separate transactions with the same cashrewards account.
1 a few days ago which tracked after 10 minutes and 1 today which still hasn't tracked after 2 hours.
Has anyone successfully gotten multiple transactions tracked in the same cashrewards account?

    • Did you use a different email address to sign up with optus for the second sim?

      • Yes different email

    • You're not alone. Bought one on Friday and hasn't tracked yet. From the comments it seems that they had problems with tracking after the deal was extended. Let's see what happens.

      • I bought on 14th still not tracked. When I checked today the rewards rate has changed. Did you notice this change when you put the order in?

        • The rate change happened afterward. As the best I can remember it was about yesterday. By the time I placed my order it was still $150 and lasted at least over the weekend.

  • I'm wondering if services can be eventually be transferred across accounts? I have a current 5G home internet service and keen to not have them on different accounts, but judging by the comments above, I need a new account when signing up.

  • Had problems with esim port, optus telling me to pound sand.

Screw the cashback, just get the officeworks price beat
