Delivery costs for The Good Guys' eBay listings will fluctuate wildly depending on your delivery postcode.

For example, if I want this washing machine delivered to Hamilton, VIC (3300):

      • If I purchase it through that eBay listing, delivery will cost $1000.
      • If I purchase it through The Good Guys' website, delivery will cost $119.

I believe these are same as Electrolux machines with a different drum style. Also note the name Ultimatecare vs Easycare 500 or 700.

    • +2

Electrolux owns Westinghouse so I believe you.

I've reached a point in my life where I'm happy to say out loud "That's a sexy looking washing machine'

I got you socks for Christmas.

Hope you don't get into hot water, if your wife reads that.

    • +1

There's probably a joke about load here somewhere, but lets not go there, we're better than that.

      • don't overload the washine machine. it's bad for it. if you have to, make sure it's balanced (throw a towel or two in). read the user manual they list weight limits and they are for each cycle.

  • What's the concensus on the best and worst white good brands that we have available in Australia? I always thought Fisher and Paykel were at the very top but apparently they're not as good now.

    • +2

Miele? Although some say Bosch as more reliable.

Our Miele appliances have been great. They have a10% off and 5 year warranty now.

      Value probably not there lol

      • -1

Yeah we have Miele kitchen appliances, oven and stove top but couldn't justify the prices of w1 and T1 so went with Bosch series 8

      • +2

Watch out when the warranty runs out ,
Labour and spare parts costs skyrocket .

      • +4

German made Bosch are great. I've got their washing machine and its been really good.

    • +1

Our Bosch series 4 has been 10years and is still going well.

My front loader LG is 12 years old and looks and works like it's brand new.

      • +2

Have a 10+year old LG Direct Drive that has a small leak,
have tried to fix but requires disassembly of whole machine to find source.
Still goes fine until overloaded ,
then you can tell the “bearings” ain’t new no more.
And besides that and the rust and pealing paint around the detergent draw you can’t kill it , just glad it has no Ai feature or it may have taken up arms with the resistance.

F&P is just high end Haier. Probably Bosch but only the made in germany models. Personally LG still presents best value for me, and is reliable.

    • I bought a Beko washing machine in 2019, pretty happy with it. It's got a nice 40 minute full load cycle which I do a lot of washing with.

    • I was in the search of a new washing machine after my Samsung started leaking after 12 years of service and being repaired once already. I opened the machine to check where it is leaking from and it has a very solid build. I was going to repair it for the 2nd time but decided to just buy a new one.

While researching for a new machine I found horror stories from reviews online and Twitter from all brands including Miele, F&P and Bosh.

After spending hours upon hours of research going model by model for each brand I found a model of Samsung washing machine that I pulled the trigger plus great discount from JB in the store.

I had a Fisher & Paykel top loader for near 20 years, and just replaced it 2 weeks ago with an 8.5 kg Fisher & Paykel front loader.

Very happy with it this far. Wouldn't have thought an appliance could make me so happy. Bought from Appliances Online price matching a Bing Lee sale price.

If I knew a Good Guys sale was around the corner I could have waited 3 days or so and saved additional $70 matching good guys. But such is life. I'm still Happy

    • +1

Wouldn't have thought an appliance could make me so happy.

      Hitachi Magic Wand.

  • Not too bad! You don't often get one that has good energy and water ratings.

    • -7

What kind of bot comment is this.

      • +2

Noooo it's actually me haha well all the washing machine posted here so far it's water and energy ratings haven't been that good. The good ones in terms of price value not so good. So I'm waiting for a bargain here.

        • so is this a bargain for you as it has good energy and water ratings?

  • +1

I bet if buying online, delivery won't include pickup your old machine? Unless dealing with a human being at their shops?

    • +3

Talk to appliciance online, they will price match and set up and take your old machine away

  • Doesn't seem to be a lot of stock in Qld, wondering if I'm in for a long wait

  • +1

Would have jumped on this deal if also was the white model… Think it would look weird having a dark washing machine and white dryer

    • +6

"It doesn't matter if you're black or white." MJ

    • if also was the white model…

      boring white or..

you don't like Apple space grey??! 😂

      • I actually prefer the grey over white but our dryer is already white and not getting changed anytime soon (hopefully)

        • +1

yeah that makes sense, just having a joke.

dryers last longer imo. mine can't handle much (it can't start the spin) but once you take a few things out it gets going and does the job.

it must be nearly 20 years old because it's got one of those old fashioned turn and grind noise timers.

          • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: Start capacitor probably gone, easy enough fix for your old dryer if you are keen. $25~ part.

            • @Binchicken22: capacitor doesn't sound good.

I actually have the cheapest dyson fan. I got it refurbished from eBay years ago, and it has started doing this weird thing where when it's off, it will start oscillating all by itself and it's quiet but enough to wake me up sometimes.

looked it up on youtube and sure enough there was ONE video someone uploaded showing how they fixed it. but as they took it apart they pointed at something called a capacitor near screws that need to be removed and said, "if you are clumsy or don't know what you are doing don't do this fix, you could get a 240V shock". so I was like ok not doing that.

I can make it stop now btw. I simply turn the fan on, start oscillating, and make oscillation stop right at the edge where it stops and comes back, then quickly power off straight after. like a quick push of those two buttons after each other and it doesn't start doing it all by itself anymore. 8/10 this method works.

    • That's exactly what I have right now: a black (new) washing machine and a white (old) dryer. It doesn't bug me that much.

      • +1

Yea I could live with it, but not with my partner nagging about it everyday.

    • +1

      Get a wrap for it.

      • I was actually considering getting some vinyl wrap and doing that but ended up buying another washing machine today… Could have got 2 of these for what I paid though…

      • make it carbon fibre

    $689.99 delivered at Costco

    $691 delivered at Bing Lee

    • Cheers for this, I opted for Bing Lee. Gunna cost me over $700+ via GG with delivery otherwise.

    • +1

How do you get free delivery from binglee

      • +1

It just offered me free "Bing Lee Premium Delivery" as a delivery option after I entered my address. Could be dependent on location.

  • +1

Seems eands price matched including delivery.

  • Is this a good deal?
Can't find many reviews on this model and most retailers have it around this price at the moment.

    • There are 67 google reviews, were you searching the model number

    • The one Choice recommended last year was a 9kg one. WWF9024M5WA

  • +1

Seems to be on special a lot ,
I would check reviews and problems before buying as it’s an appliance you will live with for many years hopefully, lack of feedback is a red flag to me.
Westinghouse was a big brand in the USA , maybe try a vpn and google this model over there?
Also check it out in store and make sure it has the cycles you want to use regularly etc.

    • +1

Agree, but plenty of reviews for the white version. No one seems to buy black alot it seems.

      • +1

black looks good in picture, but a bit of a spill from detergent powder, and you'd notice all white powder everywhere.

  • I bought this on 31 may from jb hifi price match plus $10 perks down to 671 plus old jb hifi cards of 400$

Hoping this is a good one

Was gonna buy Haier 10kg one otherwise for $799 -$150 cashback

    • +2

I had to replace the pulley wheel and belt after 6.5 years on my Haier 10kg. And then it has just died at 7.5 years, it looks like the motor is dead.

I used this deal to buy the Westinghouse and we'll see how that goes.
