Well for once your Rimowa will lose at least 2kg carry on luggage compared to these.

      Less pretentious.

    • +7

      About $2400…

  • Weight:2.5 kg

    Pass…

    • +2

isnt that standard for a hardshell?

      • +4

2.5 kg is lighter than the average, especially given the 40L+ volume

          • +6

@Logical: That sounds like a you problem, most people don't carry rocks in their bags.

              • +4

@Logical: Your math makes no sense, by your own logic, half a bag/20L+ of your contents would weigh at least 4.5kg, but 600g more get you a full load haha, enough trolling for you for today.

                  • +6

@Logical: I'm not offended, it just feels like you want to waste people's time with random comments tbh. Your backpack's shoulder straps can break due to the excessive weight, or the bottom can break open, then what? We can go on forever. Not to mention, there are far cheaper, lighter and spacious backpacks out there.

                    @Logical:

The antler wheels can snap off when mishandled at the airport and then what?

Who at the airport is mishandling your carry on?

              • @Logical:

                This is 1.9Kg.

Yep. I bought that one when it was on special for $140.

@RiseAndRuin: Most ppl don't choose a 2.5kg bag if they have carry on only.

              I am one of them.

              • @Eeples: Most people use a carry on, because they don't want or are unable to carry 7-10kgs on their back. I agree that begpackers don't though, if that's your point.

          • @Logical: Exactly using a 1.4kg 38L backpack and easily go over 7kg these people must be packing helium balloons or something.

            • @DuckWearingTopHat: You are right
Espacially if you are carrying your work lap top and charger

              • +2

@Wiser: I have yet to see carry on and laptop added together by an airline (even at the gate) to work out if it's under the carry on limit.

But, I do not live in an airport.

    antler offers lifetime warranty

    • +1

The lifetime warranty is a very misleading. In my opinion, this is just a marketing glimick.
I had an issue with my antler suitcase a 2 years ago. It was stilled covered under the 10 year warranty at the time (which have since been extended to 'life time' for newer products). It was a failure in the hardware for retractable handle. Where i can not retract the handle after it is pulled up. I was told that is considered normal wear and tear, and thus will not be covered by the warranty.
So unless it is a manufacturing issue that can be directly attributed at the time of purchase, i am suspect when you take it for warranty, it will be rejected.

edit: having said all that, it was a good suitcase and it served me well for many years - until the dodgy warranty experience.

I know it's not comparable but Kmart has carry on baggage that is 2.1 kilos for about 40 bucks, I've used it multiple times on my trips all around southeast Asia and it's held up fine, weight is very important with carry on, could add up to a couple of t-shirts and shorts difference…

Someone talk me out of buying this

    • +6

It's too heavy if you have carry on only. You don't need a hard case for carry on. Fairly easy to exceed 7kg when 40L is fully packed. (Although 10kg carry on it should be fine).

    • I use a super light duffel bag as a carry on.

    • I'd recommend an ultra light standard sized, so roughly 55 cm tall and 1.8-2.2kg soft shell carry on and a tougher hardshell for a checked-in luggage. Unfortuntately, many Asia Pacific based airlines weigh your carry-on these days, so even a 500-600g extra weight makes a huge difference when it comes to carry ons.

I still use my Samsonite B-lite 2 cabin luggage (over 10 year old with 200+ trips), but I already bought its replacement (Samsonite 73H - 1.9kg) as the wheels would eventually give up on the B-lite. I'll never find anything similar as the older b-lite versions (new ones look terrible), but I assume the 73H is the next best product available from Samsonite.

      FYI:
Antler's lightest carry-on is 1.9kg and looks pretty decent for $167.

  • what about this one ? Delsey is better imho.

    https://www.petersofkensington.com.au/travel-leisure/luggage…

    • I read so many terrible reviews of Delsey, especially in Australia where their customer support seems to be non existent. Haven’t owned on though but did quite a bit of reading before getting new carryon bags - take with a grain of sale.

Do you need customer support for a suitcase?

        • If you have a warranty claim, yes.

    • I was looking at that too, before the black one sold out. You should definitely buy one and review it for us hehe

  • Antler made in UK and life time warranty so its no brainer if the colour is okay… if you want light and have cash then Samsonite Proxis 1.9kg

  • Delivery only :(

Where are you based? I'm in Melbourne and it shows 4 stores to collect from for free, btw delivery is $9.95 for me.

      • I'm in Perth, and it looks like Click and Collect is not available for this item. :(

        • +1

Yes , no C&C for Perth

        • +1

I have been told its in stock at DFO store.

          • @Ehty: Thanks, Ehty! I went there yesterday, and it was around $140-ish, if I remember correctly. I ended up getting the Curio 2.0 with discolouration for $106.

I thought this as part of the Makita deal :(
