Makita 18V Mobile Stick Vacuum DCL180Z $74.50 Delivered + Up To 40% Off Other Makita Accessories @ Power Tool Specialists

390

They had 40% Off on All Makita Accessories a month or so ago but seems like there are still some great delas to be had on Makita Gear. A lot of them are still 40% Off.

Bunnings offers a 10% Price Beat, but for me personally, I like supporting small tool businesses—after all, if they didn’t exist, there’d be no prices for Bunnings to beat. Also, i am annoyed at Bunnings right now because i had to pay $3.50 for 6 small screws.

I have had the jigsaw blade set for years and they are good. Last well and a no brainer at this price.

I am a mostly a Milwaukee Guy now, but I love a good deal. I was here for the Jigsaw blades but found some other great deals too.

      • +1

Same, I mostly use Milwaukee blades and bits, but these are pretty good and I would buy again.

        • How do you find the Milwaukee blades? I bought a bunch of Kango stuff from Bunnings thinking it's the same brand but I feel like everything is so overpriced there these days. I miss the days when you could go to shops, build a relationship with the salesperson and negotiate prices.

          • @miura: Other than jigsaw blades, pretty much everything else I have is Milwaukee,

Been using them since the mid 2010's. Impact bits, drill bits, circular saw blades etc, all are good, and especially the recipro blades.

Mostly good value for money and they last. I don't feel the need to change from that.

Pretty sure Kango is owned by the same parent company, TTI, but I believe at this point it is only sold by Bunnings, so probably overpriced and not the best value.

            • @revheadgl: Yeh, Kango is a TTI brand which is why i bought it from Bunnings thinking it's best value there. I have been buying a fair bit from Power Tools Specialis since I discovered them a few months ago and that small shops have better deals.
Power Tool Specialists also have a Dirt Bike Giveaway on Milwaukee, you get 1x entry for every $100 spent. I did buy some cheap items that were already discounted. Might be worth looking at the deals there.

              • @miura: Cheers for the heads up but I have bought from them in the past and also recently. Forgot to mention, Milwaukee hole saws are also very good. Quite a few currently available at Power Tool Specialists at crazy low prices too.

      The girl math, reversal

That's the spirit, go broke saving money:) And justifying it…..

    • That's pretty much my thinking. I buy tools when they are on sale, I know I will use them. If I am half-way through the job and think i need a tool, i often have to overpay for it.

    • The one thing she really doesn't question me buying.
I guess she sees the flipside… us saving $50-$100 per hour for labour on things I can do myself. 😉

This also looks like a good buy if you want bulk hss drill bits:

MAKITA TIN COAT FLUTE HSS METRIC DRILL BIT SET 170PCE D-30564

    https://powertoolspecialists.com.au/products/makita-tin-coat…

    • I often tell myself I don't need that many bits but just last week I was at a job and realised the only set I was carrying was left at the previous job an hour away so i had to go to the local Bunnings and fork out $50ish bucks on a 10 piece drill bit set. Might be worth buying a big set but break it up so i always have a backup.

      • Get M35 drill bit.

        • nothing is coming up, can you please link me to the product.

  • Anyone have any thoughts/opinions on the stick vacuum?

    • +3

Works well. I've been using one for about 5 years. Decent sucking power. But its smallish container so after a vacuuming about 20m2 a few times i need to empty it which can be a bit annoying.

    • Whilst I know it wouldn't be anywhere near as good as our 18v B&D, at least I know I wouldn't have any run time or battery issues.

      • I had a B&D hand held vacuum years ago that was great, until the battery died and it went in the bin. Haven't replaced it yet but thought one with a plug in tool battery could be the go.

After watching the four corners on Bunnings, I would advocate supporting other smaller businesses

Same, big companies lure us into thinking they care about the community while they destroy or buy the competition. Once they do that, then they charge us whatever they want.
I have experienced same with JB Hi-Fi, they have built their brand making us think they have the best deals, but their deals are not that good anymore. I have been able to negotiate a better deal at Harvery Norman that JB wasn't even interested in entertaining.

      • Yep remember the good old days when The Good Guys regularly had 20%-25% off deals and you also got cashback on top. It basically disappeared after JB Hi-Fi acquired them for $870 million. JB Hi-fi stock has 5x since their TGG buy and now at ATH.

        • Yea , bought a 4 slice toaster at jb the other day for $145 because of gift cards . Ouch!

Does it come with everything needed to run? Or do we need to buy an additional battery etc?

    • I think its skin only. You will need seperate battery to purchase or use existing lxt makita battery

      • Ok are there any good deals for one battery?

        • +2

Just use an adaptor to makita battery with the batteries that you already have. Simples.

  • Thanks OP bought the vaccum stick

  • Hi everybody, does anyone know how long this sale will last? am thinking about getting the vacuum.

    • +1

Better get fast..its a clearance item

  • The drill bit set is like $12 on aliexpress. No deal.

    • Link? Aliexpress seems worse prices, Makita D-67527 is $31 and $25 at Trade Tools etc, couldn't find OP's one.

Also I'd be weary of knock offs, there is $100 "Milwaukee" drills on eBay.
