        Good promo if you are there early enough with almost no one in front of you. I went to the Greystanes store before midday, the manager gave out 10 chickens at 12:15, then another 8 at 1PM. He told everyone else that all 50 were sold out for the day, what a liar.

      They might have fixed it.

      If you order through app and use the reward dollar, but "start cooking" using the SMS link, your cart with the reward dollar is still there.

      Though it doesn't count towards loyalty or new reward dollar. But reusing the $5 is a better deal.

        How are people even ordering on the app? When I click order - pickup I get a Google map overlay with stores but it doesn't let me pick them. I can only get google directions. If I click delivery then I can select stores. What am I doing wrong? Using s25 ultra but had the same experience on S23 ultra too. Maybe a Samsung thing…

        No issues ordering with mobile/desktop browser

        They were very nice about it & apologised.

            Went to Mt Gravatt last year. They are able to handle a lot of chickens. But had to come back later for next batch.

            Recommended to Carindale they put up sign that they are NOT PARTICIPATING!

              @INFIDEL: Maybe they can handle it but the chicken quality will be a hit-and-miss, that is, not enough time in the oven or insufficient basting. Tried it before and that's what happened.

    Just joined the queue of approx 30 people at Hornsby only for the Manager to say they can only cook 5 at a time and it would take a couple of hours. Whilst I love a bargain, standing in a good court for 2 hours for a chicken is beyond my limits of cheapskate 😂.
    Piss poor planning to not have cooked some chooks beforehand. Also nowhere near the 50 they are supposed to give away. Pathetic effort from Oportos Hornsby.

      It's actually intentional and it's great planning from their end because it ensures as many customers showing up to Oporto as possible which is the whole point of the deal. They want more business, not to give away 50 chickens as fast as possible at 12:00. The problem is that a lot of shops are doing the dodgies, lying to their customers and not giving away the full 50.

    At the Casula branch they just announced they are only giving away 20 chickens for now. They said they will give away 50 across the day. Lined up for nothing

    Massive fail alert!
    Got to Oprto South Melb. In the first 20 or so people. Got there at 11:55am.

    About 5 past 12 a guy comes out. We will have chickens ready in 1 hour. I left. Not waiting 1 hour of my time for a chicken. Seriously.

    Got there at 11.50 with my friend only to be met with the server telling us it's one chicken per family. Also our store is doing a raffle system for the chicken.

    All the receipts were put in a bag and a random one would be taken out. Auburn Parramatta road Oporto.

    Oh well free is free

    Sydney suburbs. Queued from 12:08pm but at 12:10 got told they ran out, and that people queued from 11:30am.

    Waited at 11.55am, they said only 20 chooks for now, but more later… I was about 35th in queue, when getting to registers they ran out but gave us a reciept for the free chook and said to come back by 2 hrs time to get it.

    Not too bad!! Just no lunch right now

    Got there before 12PM at Westmead and there were already a bunch of people before me. Arrived at the front of the queue only to be notified that I'd have to wait 1.5 hours for the free chicken. Absolutely not worth it so I left, a waste of time really.

    Macquarie Centre, Macquarie Park, NSW store only gave Chicken with no blasting. when asked to give with Chilli sauce they said you have to pay extra
    has it happened in other Oporto stores?

          Add your own sauce at home if you didn’t pay for the basting.
          It’s a freebie..every store is doing it a bit differently. You’re not going to be able to get a new chicken with basting if that’s what you’re thinking?

    Over a 1.5hr wait at Oxford St, Sydney. Seems like around 4-5 chooks coming out every 40mins. Somebody didn't think this through.
