    1.1kg roll too!

    • +2

      100g for spool

      • +1

I've weighed full vs empty spool, and it's 1.1kg of filament. A full roll is like 12xx grams.

Also confirmed that buying the parent company Sunlu branded spools is only 1kg of filament.

        • Oh right, that's even better then.

    "Postage:

    Harsh :(

    • +8

That's the worst kind of discrimination. The kind against you 😔

Use the spreadsheet from @flippaz to compare pricing across all jayo stores

    • thanks, thats extremely helpful and also includes the sunlu (which , as usual also has the same 20% off deal)

      • +1

Jayo is a sub-brand of sunlu

    • +2

sorry it was @Flippsy, as commented below

    • +2

Thanks for mentioning it! You beat me to posting 😁updated the spreadsheet with the new data and added a new comparison table below

      • Nice.

It would be good to also have a single sheet/lookup table to filter out a selection by material/colour

        • +1

Great idea, I'll add that shortly. I also might eventually create a web app that allows people to easily filter/search for colours and material types, and also includes smaller quantity deals. Just need to find the time to work on it!

            • +1

@impoze: Done, thanks for the idea!

              • @Flippsy: Looks like the cells colouring got lost in the copy too.

another small tweak would be to get consisteency in the naming across stores e.g.
                - High Speed Matte PETG
                - Matte PETG High Speed

one more suggestion, an additional column for filament grouping e.g.

                Filament Type
                PLA PLA 2.0
                PLA PLA Classic
                PLA PLA
                PLA PLA Matte

It may be better to scrap the 'slicers' and just use regular filters on the headers, since they let you sort. I was just playing around with those slicers.

                • @impoze: Good ideas, but not simple to do with Google Sheets (the master sheet is dynamically loading content from the other sheets, and it doesn't respect the cell highlighting). Unfortunately as well, as this was originally an uploaded Excel spreadsheet, it doesn't allow scripting (I'd have to create a new sheet and old links wouldn't go to it). Can be future features though!

                  • @Flippsy: all good, it's still a great resource

                  • +1

@Flippsy: @Flippsy That filter worksheet is awesome!

Love being able to filter pla then colour, or range of colours.

      • Great spreadsheet. It was incredibly annoying to sift 1 by 1 on ebay

  • +1

    Oh … I shouldn’t…unlesss… ?

    • +3

      I'm in the same predicament..

Found myself wanting an olive green last week..

      • +1

I bought that in last month's sale, and it's actually a really nice colour, although with their track record of inconsistency with colour, it may vary. I also recommend getting their matte filaments (classic is also matte apparently) as they don't suffer the translucency of the regular filaments - this is true with both PLA and PETG,

    • +3

lol not like you have to wait long for the next deal in a month if you change your mind :P

  • +3

    on par with Sunlu

    I believe Jayo is Sunlu.

Unfortunately these cheaper listings never ship to WA though

    • I get it all the time, some of the other jayo/sunlu stores from the one directly in the post ship to WA

  • +1

unsure what combination brings it down to $115.
10x black PLA and the code brings me to $131.84 in cart.

Probably shouldn't get it anyway, literally just got 10x Elegoo rolls..

    • 10 PLA+
The total comes to $138.24 for me.
      10 Items $288 -
      Discount $115.2
      Coupon Code (JUNE20) $34.56

      Total 138.24

Did they jack up the price?

      • +1

        yeah same result for me

    • +1

    • Anyone tried the PLA CF?

      • +1

From watching stacks of youtube videos and reddit dives.
PLA CF is not much stronger than PLA, leaves tiny Carbon Fibre shards on the print which embeds itself into your skin, can causes irritation. Not food safe, even if the filament manufacturer says otherwise.

        • +1

PLA CF is not much stronger than PLA

It's actually weaker. The CF is basically just impurities in the filament that impacts layer adhesion. But it makes it look better as you see less layer lines.

I checked your page, it looks like you've got the Buy 6, pay 4.
I clicked the deal page which is a buy 10, pay 6

I'll just go with your link. No biggie

Also, I can't see the $13.19 when buying 10x because the per-roll is for 6 only, not divided by 10

          I just checked aw3d2020 deal is phrased slightly different "(BUY 6 Get 4 FREE,Add 10) "

          • @Blitzfx: Oh damn you're right! I should be using the data on that buy 10 page - will update the spreadsheet now. Thanks for spotting!

    • +1

Nice work, thanks a lot for your efforts.

    • +1

Wow this is really helpful, thanks. How often do you normally update?

      • +1

Usually whenever a new sale starts, or if any price changes are noticed.

  • How does this print compared to bambu, esun?

I've been using bambu petg HF black in my p1s and I've had zero problems. Want to replicate for less.

    • +3

many of us here have been using jayo/sunlu exclusively on bambu printers.

They have even released Sunlu profiles in the recent Bambu Studio releases

      • I got a whole lot of JAYO PETG HF from the last deal and it has been printing flawlessly.

The matte PETG is more like a satin though. I'll get some pics up later.

  • +2

I just want to add that my experience of their service is really awesome. I recently tried their high speed matt petg white. And i struggled to get good prints. After 2 rolls, and o to my third i sent them a message. A few exchanges with photos and they gave have me a shipping label to return remaining 7. And shipped me 10 new rolls of regular PETG instead.

    • Buying some more

      • did you dry it out?

        • Yup sure did. My sv08 struggled (micro swiss flowtech nozzle) but the Anycubic S1 was ok

    • Wow

I think most normal stores would ask for further troubleshooting , specifically with drying out filament first.

  • I have placed x2 orders from these guys, they deliver relatively quickly and the filament is great. I haven't got quite the advertised OzB price but it's always been pretty good. Shame I ordered some only a week ago before this special!

    • +4

The 20/22% deals are the only time you should buy JAYO/Sunlu filament. It happens so frequently.

  • What are people printing and any printer recommendations?

    • +1

      Have a browse on Makerworld

      As for printers:

Bambu Lab A1, P1S - Possible anniversary sale soon
Elegoo Centauri Carbon - preorder around July, AMS coming later
Flashforge 5M - popular budget core XY
      Anycubic Kobra V2, CFS

My latest prints have been around the Lab Rax 10" Server Rack

      • Elegoo Centauri carbon is in stock at Jaycar for 699. I for the latest version with the updated light and Multicolour port from them.

        • Oh they are stocking it, nice

    • +1

I bought the P1S with AMS recently and it is amazing. I've been printing a bunch of Gridfinity stuff for desk/drawer management and Underware for cable management. Plus the usual flexi toy trash for novelty value.

    • I use both the Flashforge 5m and the Centauri Carbon, loving both. If you need the enclosure and a slightly larger build plate, the Centauri Carbon is great value. And Elegoo have amazing support.

      • Did you get it on the first batch?

        What did you pay AUD?

        • +1

I got the first batch yeah, was 640 in the end.

Had a $10 coupon, ordered it before they charged shipping, then they refunded everyone in AU $50 as they reduced the price from 699 to 649 after lots of complaints about the local pricing.

Tho I see they've increased it again lol :/

    • Plenty of existing models on the various sharing sites but they really come into their own when you start designing your own prints to fix problems in your life. Recently I've printed some shims to level out furniture on uneven flooring, extra shelving for the medicine cabinet in my rental, a reducer for my cup holder to fit 250ml energy drinks without tipping over, a rack for my chopping boards, etc.

    • My Anycubic S1 Combo has been providing amazing quality on many different filament types from PETG to ABS. Really plug and play.
I wish the bed was bigger and it would reppace my SV08

  • Is it worth trying TPU filament to print some toys like ball, phone casing or squeezy stuff for fun? Or is it hard to print?

    • +2

      give it a shot

I would make sure it's dried thoroughly and don't put it in any AMS (if Bambu), just direct spool.

      • +3

If anyone wanted to know what happens when you put it in the AMS, it jams in the AMS feeder and takes 10 minutes to disassemble, unjam, and reassemble.
        I speak from experience

    • +1

Not particularly hard to print with modern direct drive printers. You just need to print slow and be careful of the filament routing (avoid too much tension).
It's a great filament for toys because it's basically indestructible!

    • +2

Adding to the other comments, printing it with 0.6mm nozzle can make life much easier

      • Thanks for the tip, i have a roll of TPU but haven't found something to print with it yet

        • I've printed gaskets and o-rings with TPU, none of them have failed yet.

    • I haven't found it any more difficult than PLA or PETG. The last time I printed with it I was getting some popping sounds, I just backed off the nozzle temperature a bit and it printed flawlessly.

  • Does anyone have recommendations on the different types? There are so many like +, silk, matte, classic, high speed, etc and I am not sure which is recommended for beginners?
I think I will just get a bunch of PLA to start with maybe a silk (because it looks fancy).

    • +1

      Any PLA is fine really

Get a mix of 2.0, PLA+, Matte, marble and silk.
High Speed variants of those of you want.

2.0, +, classic etc have varying levels of gloss so you need to try them out. Also some colours may not be available in all variants.

My favourites are matte as it hides layer lines well, and marble for things around the house as it gets high WAF points.

    • +1

Their silk is really nice, and it prints well. It's always worth having some silk filaments.

Go for matte filaments from Jayo (which includes classic), as the other PLA, +, meta, etc are slightly translucent. If you do get a non-matte filament, you can just print at least 4 walls and top/bottom shell layers and you can't see the support.

  • Doh! Just bought a whole bunch of siddament. Does sale come often? (only had the printer for a month)

    • Like every month..

You can never have enough filament.

    • Mvp

  • I wonder why they dont post to certain locations? Then again it is literally 10+ kg. Maybe they are running it out in vans themselves?

    • +1

Just the shipping cost being bundled I think. They have multiple stores and listings, you can find some that will ship but either with a postage fee or higher cost with "free shipping"

    • they seem to ship from Sydney, I get mine in 1 or 2 days by Auspost

  • @bigmicka have you done swatches for all the filament you have?

    • What swatches do you want to see? I have a few. Mostly Jayo.

      • +1

        any JAYO & sunlu basically.

Building up a resource to show print samples of colours/materials.
Your comparison of PLA, Matte & Classic for example was quite useful.

        • No problem. I will take some photos of what i have.

On a side note i saw this and was surprised. I just dont have time to put it up as a deal.

You can get anycubic pla basic for $14.50 per roll if you buy 20, delivered.

          https://www.anycubic.au/collections/filaments/products/pla-f…

They also do refills at $13.60.

Last they have a sign up where you can get $50 first purchase. Have not tested it.

          • @bigmicka: nice, jayo still ends up a bit cheaper depending.

I tried to combine the email sign up codes and it doesn't work.

            • +1

@impoze: with the $50 first time (cough just use a different email) brings it down to $12 per roll. $11 for the refills.

Current swatches, I have more colours that I just have not printed yet. (sakura pink classic, sky blue classic, chocolate brown classic, Matte red, blue pla+, Gold silk, Silver silk….. you get the drift)

Let me know if you want close ups. I will pull out my microscope.

    • There a website for that: https://filamentcolors.xyz

Unfortunately, they dont have many Jayo samples just yet.

But its a very useful resource for filament colours.

      • +1

that's useful, but I'm building up actual photos of finished prints.

Hard to get a full picture from the swatches.

  • My first prints with their PETG were great, but now my Bambu A1 is just printing likes it tacky and gluey. I've dried the rolls in my Sovol S2 on the PETG setting @ 65° for 8 hours each, getting it down to 25-30% humidity. The first layer is literally like glue, it's actually stuck on the plate now so might have to grind it off.

Not sure if it was just this batch I got in the last sale few months ago, or my printer settings. Going to open up the nozzle head (0.4 Hardened Steel) and check nothing is clogged.

    • Odd, I have already gone through a few PETG rolls on my A1.

PETG does stick a lot more to the plate than PLA though.

      • I'm trying another roll, as it might just be the silver that is the issue.

        • The customer service is quite good, send them a message.
