Since last sale new colours/types have been added, e.g. High Speed Matte PETG.

Common pointers for these deals:

  • Don't always have to 'buy 10 pay 6' during these sales if you don't need that many and don't want to spend that much, still a lot cheaper unless you can pick up from Sidd for example.
  • if a seller has run out of colours of a particular type try one of the others to see if they have the combo you want
  • Despite Jayo = Sunlu filaments, I find Jayo genuinely does give you more filament for the same/less price
  • I have noticed a very small set of filaments that only Sunlu sellers seem to have but not Jayo, e.g. some newer improved Wood filament (apparently) so still worth a quick poke around.

    Can recommend the high speed marble pla

    Hides layer lines extremely well.

    • +1

      Good to know, I plan on doing a heap of gridfinity stuff, I think will look nice in marble (especially for bathroom stuff)

      • +1

        I love doing gridfinity stuff in gold silk pla haha

        • +1

          Woah, all fancy. Might look luxurious for my kitchen cutlery 😂

      • Is there a way to customise the grid itself?.I want to use it in a drawer but it won't sit flush

        • +1

          Yeah there's various options available. Personally I like the Fusion 360 addon, you can add padding to your plates to whatever size you want. Quick and dirty is to just print a rectangle shape or something and just fill that gap.

        • +2

          https://gridfinity.perplexinglabs.com/

          Make sure to select the GRIPS tab, put the dimensions of the drawer itself in the input section and ignore the dimensions it's giving in the STL preview because suddenly you'll end up with a grid 20mm too small on either side, don't ask me how I know

          Select or deselect "half width on edge" and this will automatically add the borders to fill in the edges, the STL can be split to objects in the slicer to print over multiple plates

    • got any pictures?

      • +4

        this one would be my favourite so far - it’s the chestnut brown marble one - which is only very slightly more brown than standard marble (which is also fantastic)

        22 hour print, approx 600g , 0.12mm layers, using pre sliced Bambu file and a1. No post processing (I had planned to sand it slightly then apply a wood stain for a weathered look, but thought it looked more fun as is.

        • Thanks mate, will get a couple rolls to try out and just checking its the marble bone beige one right? The other colours look similar.

          • @toadbload: They are all winners but that skull in particular is the ‘chestnut brown’ - I also restocked my plain marble ones. When i restock I will be trying forest green and shadow storm I think

            • @Jimothy Wongingtons: seems to be the same thing, bone beige brings up an image with chestnut brown in the corner, perhaps they changed the names

              • @toadbload: Could be… fwiw I got from the vendor called ‘Jayo-shop’ - no reason why, I was just too lazy to compare across all the other vendors and I had purchased from that one a few times before lol

        • +2

          How is the finish on it? Comparable to matte PLA? Also to be pedantic I'm talking about the glossy part of it rather than just specs hiding layer lines for example.

          Been tempted to try their marble range as well as for so long most people just made white marble, not something like brick red or concrete grey which are also common masonry colours.

          Actual user pics and reviews seem hard to find on them so thanks for sharing yours!

          • +2

            @dufflover:

            How is the finish on it?

            Pretty matte but I don’t have any specifically matte white. I am currently using pla+ 2.0 white and it’s glossy as compared to the marble

        • Got a link to this skull?

    • Love marble for household items, gets the WAF

      I noticed they have a new range of marble colours too, have you tried?

      • Just the chestnut brown and standard marble so far, haven’t tried the other two yet (unless there’s another another range you mean)

  • -1

    any feedback on this brand? has anyone tried this compare to the famous Sid filaments?

    • +3

      I've used a roll of PLA+ Silk so far, it was fine but the end of the roll actually clogged up my Bambu Lab AMS.

      There was a jagged edge on the end of the filament which couldn't pass through the PTFE tubes on my AMS, I had to disassemble it slightly to clear the blockage.

      I'm halfway through my second roll now, so I'm going to keep an eye out for any similar issues.

      Otherwise, the quality of the filament was fine and good value for money.

    • +2

      I have siddament and Jayo. Jayo very hard to beat- great quality, now a huge range of colours, and price is unreal for posted when stacked with 20% off. I have 2 rolls of siddament and 2 rolls of Jayo in my ams lite atm.

    • +1

      I've done a few prints in PETG from the last deal and I am very happy with it, would buy again.

      I haven't tried siddament filaments but you've just remonded me that I wanted to try their PCTG which is meant to be superior ot PETG in a few ways.

    • +1

      Its pretty good but honestly stick with Sid great prices and quality

    • +1

      I've used a mix of a few including Sidd. Problem is this price is really hard to beat once you add postage since I'm in Melb.

      I use him for particular colours/types/finishes I can't get elsewhere or a particular type - before Jayo/Sunlu only just started listing them he was the only good-value matte PETG shop in town.

      Due to the shipping I put him in competition with wanting specific colours or finishes compared to say the ones on Amazon (Overture, eSun…).

      TLDR, backbone of my selection is Sunlu/Jayo. Filled in with other brands where a need arises and a lot of is Sidd.

    • Apparently it's rebranded SunLu. I exclusively use SunLu (little bit of Bambu) and never had issues with it.

    • I’m probably on my 20th roll over a year period for JayO they’re great. All I’ve done is keep them in a tub with silica packets and they’ve never needed drying..

  • Thanks all for your feedback, much appreciated!

  • +1

    Does anyone know if the matte additives in their new matte PETG are really abrasive?

    I have a roll of Sidd's matte PETG and the additive is glass fibre which makes it not suitable for the Bambu AMS, and it isn't suitable for print in place moving parts like hinges as it fuses, or for threaded parts as it's too coarse to move smoothly.

    • Wow never heard of that before. I just printed something with a hinge SunLu PLA Matte and it was fine (printed on ludicrous too lol).

    • Depends when you bought it, he has since moved to an inorganic additive that isn't glass fiber anymore. You could reach out and ask with a batch number and he can probably tell you.

  • Do they still not ship to WA? I went to checkout and it seems like they do now, but I didn't go all the way and purchase. Might actually try to buy tonight and see how it goes.

  • +1

    Jayo is a sub brand of Sunlu. It is listed on their ebay store.

    I have been through 20 rolls of pla/silk/matte and it has been exceptional.

    I had been using the generic profile, but now use the sunlu profile in Bambu studio and Orca.

    I will be buying some rolls from sid once i am through the ebay vouchers i currently have.

    • Generic profiles are nerfed, check the volumetric flow rates on them, like half the speeds.

  • God I wish these guys shipped to Darwin. Can't score deals like this from anywhere - open to any other suggestions people might have!

  • +16

    I made a data processor for personal use, but realised everyone would benefit. It's a pain clicking through all of the ebay page dropdowns and listings to try and find the best deals, so I've automated it.

    You can view a list of all the prices in a big spreadsheet here - the tabs at the bottom will let you see the different stores. You can sort or filter values to suit your needs.

    View the spreadsheet here of all store's data:

        • Thanks for this. I am going to need to work out a way to do a lookup for the colours I want to then find the store with the cheapest version of it.

          • @bigmicka: yep, some sort of pivot table to compare specific filament & colour across all stores, or a combination to reach 10 rolles.

        • Thanks for this - it's not that accurate, but it's a good general guide.

    • +1

      This was super helpful in figuring out which suppliers had all the colours I wanted in stock and the pricing, thank you!

    • Any chance you'd be willing to share your script?

      • +3

        Sure, it's a hacky mess at the moment but I'll clean it up, then open source it soon.

  • Anyone tried the Matte Black PETG who can compare it to Sids?

    • +1

      Interested to know as well but it looks like they only started listing it VERY recently so not sure many people would have it yet.

    • +3

      Can't compare to Sids just yet..

      But I printed my first item in Jayo Highspeed Matte Petg this morning and is one of the nicest finishes ive ever seen on a PETG part

      Printed with a 0.6 nozzle on a Qidi Plus 4

      It was a risk buying 10 rolls.. but that risk was well and truly worth it. $13 a roll for HS matte PETG.. unbeatable

      • Nice, noticed the new matte PETG and ordered some too.

        Planning to build a lab rax

      • @Megahowlerdid you try it using bambu petg HF profiles or normal?

        Also, did you dry them or straight from the pack?

        • I just created my own profiles

          Bumped up the flow and speeds

          Printed straight from the pack.. perfect results so far

  • ordered 5 (paid or 3), costed me $79 so it's around $16 each, so tempted to order 10, but i am just getting started on this hobby and don't think that i will need that much :D

  • +2

    @Flippsy Have you seen the new offering PLA Classic? currently cheaper than all other PLA variants.

    I sent Jayo a message and got this reply.

    "Hello, thank you for your interest in our products, PLA Classic is our new product. It is optimised on the basis of PLA to support high speed printing, up to 600MM/S printing speed. Matte texture and good impact resistance. If you are interested, you can use the coupon to buy it. The price is very good now. Thanks."

    I have purchased 10 rolls to see how it is.

    • Please report back on how they compare

      • Will do, Jayo have already posted it this morning. I should get it on Friday.

        10 rolls, 5 white, 5 mixed came in at $127.00

        • Nice!

    • I have purchased 10 rolls to see how it is.

      You didn't want one of the smaller bundles to see how it is first? :P

      Will be interested in your comparisons though. If it really is a matte finish will be a good extra option.

      • Thought I would just send it and see how it goes.

        Might be a good move, might be a bad move, but it won't be the worst thing I have ever bought, that list is long.

    • +1

      This is getting ridiculous!
      * PLA
      * PLA+
      * PLA Meta
      * PLA Classic
      * High speed PLA
      * PLA+ 2.0
      * High speed PLA+
      * PLA+2.0 high speed
      * PLA Matte
      * PLA Matte high speed

      That's 10 different PLA options, not even including silk, wood, marble, etc.

      I just want a matte filament, I have no bloody idea if I should order classic, matte or high speed matte - I'm glad I don't care much for regular PLA, because that's even worse!

      • I like their PLA Matte. I will add it to the comparison when my order comes in.

      • so now they have high speed variants, but do they come in all colours?
