That's my go to. Rooster Bar for the win. They used to have a second store in Queens Pde in North Fiztroy about 20 years ago. I now drive from Rezza to Fairfield for my fix. Their salt is amazing.

Yep, people that prefer local shops just happen to have found a good one. The vast majority of them have lower standards than El Jannah.
There used to be another chicken shop in Toorak near me called The French Rotisserie. It was so overpriced (whole chickens were like $25) and the chickens so average. The place only lasted a bit more than a year.
There aren't many charcoal chicken shops as good as El Jannah. Rooster Bar is an outlier and should not have been counted.

Tried El Jannah once and was bitterly disappointed. Absolutely terrible, and expensive for what it was.

We used to love El Jannah, but the price increases recently/change to the menus have lessened the value…
Also we recently went to a drivethrough one, but ended up stuck in a line, nothing moved for 20+ mins got to the ordering window, 'another 20mins for chicken' LOL what a joke.
Chicken still decent but yeah not worth the price anymore…
I have fond memories of their original small and dingy Granville store. lining up for 30 minutes and battling for a table was all part of the charm
Their Uber eats prices are hyper inflated and I checked their own app, delivery is 17.50. It's only 5kms away -_-
They have a terrible reputation for delivery.
Because they can take half an hour to make things.
Honestly their ordering system is a complete shambles
The garlic sauce is their comparative advantage, not the chicken.
Better off just picking up a large garlic sauce from El Jannah and the bachelor's handbag (whole roast chicken for $12.50) from Woolies.
Their chilli sauce is much better.

El Jannah is interesting, because the eastern locations in Sydney are generally quite bad, but the western ones are generally quite good (I haven't gone fully into The Area™️)
Are they modifying it at all for the east or just bad franchises?
