Kensington SD5750T Thunderbolt 4 Dual 4K Dock - $139.99 (RRP $599) Delivered @ Horizon Store

350

G'day all,

Back from popular demand, we are running EOFY clearance promotion on the Kensington SD5750T Thunderbolt 4 Dual 4K Docking Station - Black. The promo is valid till Monday 30th June 11:59PM 2025 or till stocks last. Previous deal

Discount automatically applies at checkout w/ free shipping Australia wide. We also ship to PO Boxes and Parcel Lockers.

Product details can be found here.
Note that the product specs mention it is 'designed for surface' however, it also works on Windows 10 & 11 laptops with Thunderbolt 4 port or MacBooks running MacOS Big Sur 11 with Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 port, and other compatible devices.

For mac users, it is also dependent on the chipset of the Mac. For eg: Mac with M1 chipset would only support single monitor functionality. Mac with M1 Pro or M1 Max chipset will support the dual monitor functionality.

Big thanks to @jaUtr65Hme for the below information:

“I've bought this a bit earlier and tested it 100% can be used on MacOS and general windows laptop.
MacBook Pro with M4 + 2 screens no problem.

Also for people asking plug types - AU plug included. Saying included as it comes with ALL major types of plugs even including UK/US/Japan one so it is possible to use it during international travel”

If you are still uncertain, I highly recommend calling Kensington support directly and they can verify the compatibility for you over the phone. Their number can be found below or via link here
1300 881 931 (product tech support) - 9AM - 5PM AEST(Monday-Friday)

We received a good response on our previous deal on this model however there was an uncertainty surrounding this dock based on its compatibility. This has now been cleared with compatibility confirmed across compatible Windows, Surface and Mac devices.

Any queries please feel free to ask below in the comments or DM me directly.

Thank you and best wishes,
Travis

      … thus, not very frightening.

  • Showing $199.99 on your website but is $139.99 when added to cart.

    • Hi @awesomise,
Yep, that's correct. Discount automatically applies at checkout.
      Cheers,

Edit: Ignore me - I did this to myself

        • Why is there an empty comment? How do you even do that?

  • Does it have an audio out port?

    • +1

      Hey @monkeyjaja,
Re audio, it does have the one audio combo jack. You can refer to the specs and image here
      Thank you,
      Travis

      • -1

Looks like that's audio IN at the front. I'm after audio OUT, so that's a no then?

        • What kind of sound are you audioing? It's not like it has a speaker in the dock for your mad DAP.

Audio 1 x 3.5mm Combo Microphone & Headphone Port (front)

          • @awesomise: Macbook > (USB-C) > Dock > (USB-C > HDMI) > Monitor

I know the HDMI cable will carry audio signal to the monitor, but not all monitor has an audio out eg. Samsung G8 32" OLED so I'll be stuck to using the speaker's built-in monitor OR run an audio cable from the Mac to my speakers, which defeats the purpose of having an all-in-one USB-C dock.

        • +3

I'm pretty sure a headphone/microphone combo audio jack (which can be seen on the front of the dock) could be both an in AND out.

Just comes down to whether you're referencing the tip/ring/ring/sleeve (TRRS) of the connector. You would use a splitter like this if you wanted to use distinct devices, rather than a single headset.

      • Sorry, I think I misunderstood, that combo jack should be able to do audio out and mic in. Thanks

        • Also, what kind of audio device/speakers are you plugging into, next to your G8 32" OLED?

Seems like any half-decent USB DAC would be a major upgrade.

          • @CharcoaI: Haven't bought the G8 yet, but I'm looking at upgrading to an OLED monitor at some point. G8 happens to be at the top of my list but it has no audio out (or USB-C). Other monitor has USB-C AND audio out, so I can safe myself a purchase of a dock but the G8 is at least 200 bucks cheaper right now, hence the consideration.

Audio out wise, I'm just using an Audio Technica AT-SP3X desktop stereo speaker, via RCA, nothing fancy. I don't think I can justify another USB-C DAC dongle. Adds cost and complication to the setup, though it's certainly an option.

      • Thanks OP, just purchased one. Good price!

  • Hi Rep, possibly stupid question but can i use this with my surface laptop 6 2033 to my existing monitors if i just get usbc to hdmi cables? never used thunderbolt before sorry dont know much about it. Thanks

      Hi @lovegun85,

No issues at all! Your Surface 6 has a TB4 port and means it is compatible with this dock.
      Manufacturer states:

Surface Laptop 6 for Business 13.5 Inch:
      USB-C® with USB 4®/Thunderbolt 4

Re cables, either USB-C to HDMI or Display Port should work just fine.

      Hope this helps.

      Best Wishes,
      Travis

      • Awesome thanks heaps

  • Thanks for the post and honest answers/replies Travis.
    Easy Purchase to make !!
Looking forward to it working with my Mac Mini M4 Pro.

Really happy with the dock but doesn’t work for multiple screens on older M1s.

Bought a separate dock for the office for the older M1. Newer devices work fine for multiple displays.

    • +3

Need a dock with DisplayLink for multiple monitors on M1 Macs

      • +1

Yeh, I bought one with DisplayLink for work purposes. Once I upgrade the last MacBook all work devices will work with the setup.

  • Would this work with two 27” UltraFine™ 5K IPS Monitors? (27MD5KL-B)

    Or not worth the risk?

    Cheers.

    • +2

      you're ultra fine

    • Might be risky. Can't find the info from Kensington, but a similar product from CalDigit only supports dual 5K displays if you use Apple Silicon Macs and Apple Studio Displays.

CalDigit Thunderbolt 4 dock display support chart

Another reason CalDigit states the above is there are PC Thunderbolt 4 add-in-cards which only support 1 x 5K/60Hz display or 2 x 4K/60Hz displays.

I've tested multiple docks and whilst I have no experience with the Kensington, the best I have found is the Ivanky Fusiondock Max. I have 2 MBPs that I use for editing - an M1 Max and an M4 Max. Both work are plugged into the dock and running the in-built display plus 2x Samsung 27" S90PC ViewFinity 5K Monitors and 1x EIZO ColorEdge CG2700X 27" 4K Monitor. Works flawlessly.

      Hi @overthinking

Here is a response from our previous deal:

      Special thanks to @Burchie on 29/04/2025 - 20:26

Has anyone tried this with a 5k display to know if it supports 5120 x 2880 at 60p? The specs only list dual 4K 60p and single 8k at 30p but nothing in between.
Edit: In case anyone else cares, I just heard from support that it would support 5k 60p.

I would recommend calling 1300 881 931 (Kensington product tech support) - 9AM - 5PM AEST(Monday-Friday) to have certain clarification on the subject.

      Hope this helps.

      Warm regards,
      Travis

      • Yep, can’t comment on it driving 2 x 5k displays unfortunately. But run a single 5k (Apple Studio Display) from an old intel MacBookPro with integrated graphics.

Can also drive the 5k display through an iPad Pro via the dock with no issues.

  • Can I plug a single usb c to my M3 MacBook Air and 2 monitors into the dock, would it work?

    • From memory you'll need to close the lid for this to work. M3 supports 2x external display when the lid is closed.

      • Yes, but I have a dock, and even with lid closed, a single usb port from Mac to dock and dock to 2 monitor can only display to 1 monitor. Not sure if it’s because of the dock.

        • It depends on the dock tbh. If its a TB (Thunderbolt) dock then you should be able to power the 2x external monitor. If its just a USB-C dock (10Gbps or less) then it won't do the trick. If its a DisplayLink dock with DisplayLink driver installed then it should power 2x monitor + the laptop.

          • @davidtse916: So if it is this dock, I should be able to connect to 2 external monitors using 1 cable connection to my M3 MacBook Air with lid closed? Thanks for your help.

  • I have a new ThinkPad capable of TB4

I am only planning on running one 32 inch QHD monitor from the dock/laptop.

Would this or a TB4 dock in general be an advantage for me or the TB3 ThinkPad Dock that I can get from Amazon for 89 be better suited?

    • +1

      Hi @spellegrino,

Good question. If you’re only planning to connect one QHD monitor, the TB3 dock would be a budget-friendly choice. With TB4 you would have supports for higher minimum standards than TB3 IE. full 40Gbps bandwidth, support for two 4K displays or one 8K display, and mandatory USB4 compatibility. Even if you’re only using one monitor now, this gives you headroom for future upgrades.
It comes down to how future proof you wish to be in my suggestion.

      Hope this helps.

      Best wishes,
      Travis

  • I'm currently running a dell tb3 dock with output to 2x 34" 2k monitors and 1x 24" 1080p. Will I be able to run the same setup on this or is the max output 2 displays?

    • Hi @e1on,

It would allow you only 2 additional 4k60hz screens and potentially the laptop screen. If you require the 3 monitor setup, this dock wouldn’t be compatible.

      Hope this helps.

      Many thanks,
      Travis

  • Does everyone use USBC > HDMI/DP adapter for these kinda docks. My monitor doesn't have USC C video in and assuming most monitors don't either. I have a m1 pro chip > aw3225qf. Max is 60hz right? But then I add an adaptor that might mess with the refresh.

    • @jakubball Get a USB C to HDMI adapter. There are hacky ways to enable 4k 120hz on M1 Pro / Max, eg: https://www.cablematters.com/Blog/HDMI/how-to-get-4k120hz-wi…?

I've got a MacBook Pro M1 Max connected to a Kensington SD5700t (functionally identical to the SD5750T). Flashed Cable Matters USBC>HDMI adapter between the dock and monitor. Running well at 3008x1692 120hz with HiDpi, as Mac scaling is wonky for 4k 120hz on my screen. Recommended!

    • I personally prefer USB-C to DP. HDMI is good too, but for some reason I do prefer DP over HDMI when it comes to monitors. For TVs that's probably HDMI.

      The one I use: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0C4DB8MLL

I'm using Dell 32 Plus 4K S3225QS, which is 120Hz and I've connected the monitor to the Kingston TB4 hub and it works fine (so far) with 120Hz.

  • Hi @jakubball,

M1 pro supports 2 external display at up to 6k 60hz. You would be using a USB C to HDMI or DP cable to connect with your monitor.

    Hope this helps.

    Best wishes,
    Travis

    • Thanks for responding! I did buy the dock, plugged it in worked great with USB C > DP adapter (after you approve USB access on the mac the first time). I've tried maybe 2 or 3 other docks in my life, there's just always something wrong like ethernet ports not working or not all usb ports work.

I haven't tried the ethernet port but everything is working great so far! It's full metal body gives it a premium feel.

      • Hi @jakubball,

Your response is much appreciated. Thank you for your support.

If there is any issues with the dock at all IE Ethernet port, etc. Please do feel free to get in touch with us. More than happy to assist!

        Best wishes,
        Travis

  • I just bought this at full price last week. fml.

    Good deal OP

  • We received our one today (delivered on Thursday, picked up on Saturday). We’re loving it so far! It came with multiple power cables (not just AU plug, but UK etc.), which was a surprise. I set up the TB4 dock tonight and noticed that the external SSD and HDD connect much quicker to the M4 MacBook Air compared to the UGREEN USB-C 10Gbps docks I was using. I’m very happy with the purchase, thanks OP!

      Hi @davidtse916,

Thank you so much for your feedback. I am glad we could meet your expectations.

      Thank you for your support.

      Best wishes,
      Travis

      • No worries Travis. The 1st one I bought was for my wife. I'm still thinking whether I should buy one more for myself 😂

  • Hi there, does anyone know if this supports 2 QHD 144hz monitors?

    • It should do at atleast 60hz (given it supports 4k at 60hz)

  • Hey there, do you know if we can use the Steamdeck with this dock?

  • Will this support dual displays on a Surface Pro 11 with Snapdragon X Elite chipset?

  • $199 now?

Edit: Nvm, it changes to $139 at check out

  • Anyone has this dock AND using it with the Lenovo Thinkpad P16s Gen 2?

I have that laptop and its power brick is 135W, so not sure if the 90W output to USB C will suffice.

    Thanks
