      Let’s just say critics have a world view that is all too predictable. Otherwise they get tossed out of the club.
      One of the amusing things about watching Margaret Pomeranz and David Stratton on SBS back in the day was playing a game where you would predict each of their rating before the review started. Even better with drinking involved. David was much easier to predict than Margaret, but not much in it.
      
      To this day I still laugh about their review of Team America: world police. We all switched TV on in eager anticipation. And they delivered! I thought David would explode. Trey Parker was clearly busting his balls! And Margaret no doubt was composing a strongly worded letter to Trey.

  If you shut out the noise and actually watch the darn thing, it's a 'perfectly serviceable' Disney musical as one review put it. Kids were entertained. Just not a memorable classic.

    100% agree, my two year old loves the damn movie, and in particular the Whistle While You Work, and Waiting on a Wish songs. Stoked for it to hit D+

To be honest, I’m more surprised posts like this are posted here. Typically, OzBargain is all about actual deals, cashback offers, or at least some kind of special discount or incentive—so seeing a purely informational post about a streaming release, with no perks or discounts attached, definitely feels a little out of place.

I get that people want to spread the word about new content, but without any kind of bargain or extra value, it’s a bit of a head-scratcher why it’s posted as a “deal.” Maybe it’s just for awareness, but it’s not really what most users expect from this site.

And for anyone who wants to watch it at my place in the mountainous countryside, fresh air is currently on special for free as well! I know some places are giving away city air for free or alternately charging hundreds of dollars for air purifiers, but my air is free…

Granted, it’s not quite as good as the original snow air you could get nearly a century ago - but this current version is very woke, and just a little bit darker. You’ll just have to keep reminding yourself, it’s free!

    Niece made me watch it. I got confused at the actual number. Some were tallish and some were clearly CGI. Which seemed not the point for this kind of movie.

    it's not the movie being called woke. it's the actress.
    
    apparently during the release and promotion of the movie instead of doing movie promotion like she is paid to, she expressed a lot of her own beliefs (culture, politics etc) one of which was "free palestine". in an interview she also referred to the relationship of Snow white in the original animated movie as "weird". typically hardcore disney fans hated this since the movie was important to Walt disney and he said "Snow White" should never be remade.

And they needn't see it, sure, it's a kid's movie, I wouldn't expect them to see it…but that's my real problem, if it's absolutely categorically undeniably made for a different audience, it's weird that a bunch of grown men have such strong opinions on it.

      Ol mate I replied to called the movie Snow Woke, not the actress. In said interview, she was asked her thoughts on these things, frankly, whether you agree with her or not, if you're sick of politics being in movies (even though we know the anti woke peeps only hate when the other side is in things), you should take concern with the interviewer who asked such a question. It's arguably relevant since the villian of the movie is played by a vocally pro IDF (re: pro arsehole) person too but I agree, it doesn't need to be brought up in a fairy tale movie about a girl dying from eating an apple while she lives with 7 midgets…but her having that opinion shouldn't be the problem, the entire culture built up around celebrities and actors where we must know everything about their lives at every turn should be torn down, not a single movie then

        @TheDukeOfNukem: tbh I don't know much about politics (I don't even read the mainstream news, everything I know is just from online) just sharing info I knew about the controversy of why the new Snow White wasn't very popular. I don't know what pro IDF means but I know the term "free palestine" has been involved with some recent attacks and immolations of people in the US.
        I think they technically happened after the Snow white actress quoted that "woke" type statement, but in one a young jewish american couple were shot to death near the embassy in the US, and in another a man with no shirt on proceeded to throw petrol filled bottles and lit people in a protest on fire, some of which were kids. both of these people proceeded to chant "free palestine" as they commited the crime or as they got arrested. doesn't look good for the Snow white actress does it.
        personally I think both these people wanted to and were going to do both their crimes regardless of anything else, and just decided to chant free palestine as a way of justifying and using it as an excuse "I did it for these people, so it was worth it".

This movie was bad, but I honestly liked it better than Lilo and Stitch. Wanted to take the kids to a feel good movie and ended up watching a film about unemployment, dead parents, child welfare and bullying. Hard to find a film that's just good fun these days. Always some BS message being pushed.

in the newest Black Panther marvel comic released (Marvel Knights: The World To Come), the black panther is a white caucasian character. (this one still confuses me, could easily call him White panther?)

oh and Bambi is getting a remake. yup on it's way to theatres now. but tbh shouldn't be too bad like they didn't mess up Jungle book remake.
