https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/907102 Same panel, $400+ cheaper ($923) using student discount, and supports Dolby Vision, I would say it is definitely better than ROG.

Cheaper but in no way better.
Alienware doesn't have DP2.1 so you need to use DSC regardless of what GPU you have.
ROG has a glossy screen which most people prefer.

XG27UCDMG does not have DP 2.1, it is DP 1.4. The DP 2.1 model is PG27UCDM, which costs $1899. And there is no visual difference for DSC, so paying almost $1000 extra for a DP 2.1 is definitely not worth it.

AW2725Q is gen 3 panel, xg27ucdmg is gen 4. Not sure the difference

          • +2

@HappySekiro: They are the same, just naming difference. Gen3 panel is the 32'' 4K 240Hz one released in 2024. Alienware names the 27'' gen3 because there is no visual difference between these two panels, and ROG calls it gen4 since the 27'' is smaller.

Agreed. If this was the PG27UCDM at $1399 I would order it but at $1799 (since we are going with discounted pricing) nope.

  • as I know rog product in China has Collapse-like fall these two year, China used to be high price area. people are not interested with this brand any more.

    • Asus has lineup made specific for China targeting high CP value (good targets for import includes notebook computers, note that GCT may apply).

If this was the price of the Asus PG27UCDM I would be ordering it now. But at $1799 which is double the price of the Alienware it is a bridge to far. The Asus PG27UCDM is a better a monitor, but not a double the price better monitor.
