any recent purchasers able to let me know how it tastes nowadays?
It's passable, but far from its glory days. I too miss the old supplier. It's not just the spice level and heat that's lacking now, I think it's missing the old signature 'flavour' too.
yeah, i care more about the flavour. A bit of heat is nice but old one was good way to boost up some dull food or leftovers that needed some flavour.
@kiriakoz: There's a Thai one you can get at asian grocers which is actually one of the original Sriracha's, in production since the 40's. Grand Mountain. I quite like it.
@heef: @heef @Flutterby this one ended up being tasteless (I had already purchased when I'd commented). I'll look for the ones you mentioned.
The rooster is hot and goose is not from my experience
Coles brand sriracha sauce is $5.40
Has anyone tried the spin-off brand made by the supplier?
Have you seen it locally?
I want to try it but couldn't find it.
I've not seen it - have been using flying goose brand and eating sambal oelek which might be even better. Do miss the original somewhat
No one imports Underwood Ranch sriracha to Australia :(
The pricing is a bit spicey.
There's nothing hot about a sweet garlic sriracha sauce. Chilli of any heat no where to be found, the epitome of an oxymoron.
Definitely not the same, it has less of a deep flavour and spice kick to it. Would argue it is sweeter as well.
Never really bothered me since I don’t eat much sriracha but noticed it immediately when my missus managed to get a bottle of the new recipe (after the shortage)
Is it good? Will it make me fart fire?
It's fine
I have been finding the green sauce for long. Woodies used to sell them.
Back order now
Lao gan ma it is
Lots of sugar lots of salt… Wish it was a bit healthier
Does anyone know where I could get the Underwood ranches Sriracha in Australia (original chili supplier for huy fong)?1
With the amount of diabetes that seems to be floating around, people will probably only want it if they substitute the sugar in the recipe for artificial sweetener (screws up your gut microbiome)
Big bottle, keen price, thanks.
Hopefully as good as Tobasco
People buying diff. brands sriracha, check the sugar content. Some have tonnes of added sugar to mask the filler they put in.
R.I.P OG Huy Fong. I remember stocking up a cupboard full of bottles pre COVID at $3.50 each. All gone!
I just opened my last one. Won't be buying again. Daughter loves the Tabasco brand sriracha. If I want heat, Byron Bay, Melbourne Hot Sauce or Proud Phoenix & Co Chilli Crisp Oil
I use franks hot sauce now, I fortify it with El Yucateco habanero hot sauce. Both are near zero calorie content, only have whats in the chili itself .
Like Grok said, the tabasco branded sriracha is pretty good, it's my current go to.
Still rate this!!
My bottle arrived yesterday.
I like it, nice taste.
Haven't bought a bottle since they got cut off by their original chilli supplier.
