Use gift cards for an extra 5% off ($360, via NRMA/RACV etc). Any more Big W promo codes atm? Seems like an OK deal considering past prices were box damaged deals.

Looks like it comes with the multi tool, normal big head, wall charger and mount.

Also just get an adaptor and use power tool batteries if you already have a system.

Not purchasing personally, but popped up in the app.

Get JB to price match, then pay using discounted gift cards.

    • Nice, the 10% would bring it to $341.10 if it works out.

You can definitely use JB gift cards for a price matched cart. You can even use $10 birthday perks code if you have one to bring it down. You'll need JB live chat or someone from the store to send you a direct link to the JB price matched cart.
        I didn't neg you btw.

      • I was saying about the ultimate gift cards. Thats what I was told in the live chat when I was looking to buy a fridge after price match. I could be wrong, but that's my experience. I know we can use the standard jbhifi gift cards.

v8 or wait for v10 to be on special again ?

    • +2

I would wait for the V10 to hit the $400 mark

  • Is this the crappy version of recent times? I know my friend had one that lost suction and performs worse than the Dyson V6 (which I have and is still going strong!)

    • +2

Dunno how it performs, anyone else with lived experience? Also have a v6 i picked up for free & is going strong.

      • +1

I have confirmed with my mate, this one is the crappiest of the Dyson's in recent times. My friend replaced the battery and filters and the thing still has less suction power of a V6!

        • +1

More like the suction power of a 2yo with a twisty straw

        • Ouch. Good to know.

        • Any idea how it compares to DC59? I still have mine from 2013. Have had to refurb it myself. Replaced filter and bought new battery 2 years ago.

      • V6 is an absolute workhorse. Have used mine daily for 6+ years for two 30kg dogs and it works as new. Only had to replace the filters and it goes. Love the last of the "dumb" vacuums.

I don't like it for hard floors. The suction is only great because the clearance is so poor. Great for carpet but just sends shit flying on hard floor. Really needs to be a little bit higher from the ground, but I think the suction will suffer from that too.

I'm also on my second battery and it has begun to shut off when using highest suction mode continuously.

Decent for oet hair though. Much better than the v7 i also have

Yes, I have this, and mine is crappy,

How is this a good deal when I just got the V8 absolute last week for $399?

Sorry guys this is not computing, not worth the price, (Not for us anyway, maybe for large households)

Anyone know of a $100 ~ portable Vacuum?

      link?

My Xiaomi and Kogan ones all died in 2 years, but my Dyson V6 is still going strong after 5 years, I just replaced the battery once.

      • +2

I can confirm. Xiaomi ones only last 1.5-2 years before it became landfill. As for Dyson V6 2018 I bought V6 still going after two battery changes it's 7 years already

        V8 better than V10 imo

      • My V6 has outlasted the 7 and 8, i think I'll still on the original battery, but i hate. Head is tiny, suction pretty average, dustbin a terrible design compared to all other models.

Honestly I've regretted all these cordless Dysons - will be trying a new brand next time. Previous workplace had a black and decker one which was waay better in every way

Been a fan of Dyson until I’ve got the Shark with cleaning station for the same price. Game changer without the need to empty the casket constantly and breath in the dust,

  • FYI bought V8 for better price (probably old stock) in Bing Lee. The battery has issue from the start _ charge won’t hold for long. Got it replaced under warranty.

  • Dyson seems to be lost attraction to people. Suction is not that great for the price also people are sick of breathing in the dust when emptying.
