Yes, but it isn't a deal

    • Yes absolutely

Honestly, this was one of the worst Oscar-winning films I’ve seen. It was noisy throughout, and most of the dialogue felt pointless. The title even sounds more fitting porn movie. It feels like, ever since Parasite trash movie, the quality of Oscar winners has really gone downhill.

i refuse to take this ragebait

Honestly, I just feel like all this “woke” stuff has really changed the way we look at movies. It's no longer about the kind of films we used to love — no more Tom Hanks or Steven Spielberg classics where people could actually debate what the best movie was. Now, it all feels so different. Like the magic is gone. Just instant noodle last.

Maybe I'm just too old for this new generation of films.

        • I know I've used the word woke a couple times when and because it was trending, but maybe another perspective would be this.

instead of "once upon a time" for kids/teens, now it's "once upon a time" made for grown adults. right down to all the marketing, choice of actors and merchandise. this and the fact that personally I think movie makers and franchises have discovered that adding just the right amount of "woke" in a movie (not too much, but not too little) creates internet ragebait on websites like reddit and youtube videos, which is free promotion and also makes non-fans want to see "what was wrong with it". = more profits for big corpo. i'm talking in particular about blockbuster type movies btw, such as disney/marvel releases. I read an article awhile back where they quoted an aging ex marvel comic artist who revealed the main demographic of the latest comic book movies coming to cinemas was something like 30~40 year old middle aged men, and how depressing it was that this is what they are targeting now.

sorry I don't have anything say about the movies Anora or Firebrand since i haven't seen them yet.

They don't make Oscar movies like Pearl Harbour no more.
