Apple iPad 11" A16 Wi-Fi 128GB $497 | Apple Watch 10 42mm GPS $497 | Motorola Moto G75 5G (Bonus: Moto Buds) $277 @ Officeworks

970

Some great deals here. Not historical lows on all of them, but given OW doesn't price beat Costco anymore, this is likely the cheapest they will be this time round.

Don't forget to stack with discounted gift cards expires 10/6.

Enjoy!

    iwatch 10 42mm showing $647

    • +20

      That makes sense to me.

      • The current price is $647.

      • In four days time (i.e. on 12 June), it will go on sale for $497.

When OP posted this deal, they already included the 12 June start date.

      • My price beats it for the iPad 11. @$472‼️😝😜 Couldn’t do it any better. Unless I had one of those Ultimate giftcards @10% off. Eat me!!

        • Thankyou for the iPad @$424. The missus just found last night 5 x $100 Ultimate giftcards that were bought for 15% off and having the receipt just over a yr ago, and are scratched off. And are still in effect (not expired), and were found in a small sealed plastic bag, 5 x $85 = $425. Took them in this evening at a Big W store that is near us, and got the blue. They’re running out, girls. So @$424, with a $1 to spare. What a bargain‼️‼️😁 We love a good brag, aye‼️🤡..😆🤣🤣

Hope do you know these will be going on sale??

Insider info. Nothing special round here lol. The catalogue is quite disappointing otherwise.

    Better than bigw deal?

  • For Apple Watch 10, any special on GPS+cellular, or is it GPS only?

    • +2

I think they are price beating BigW, which only has the GPS watch on sale.

  • Any idea if S9s will go on sale as well?

    • Seems like Samsung has a $300 trade in bonus on right now.

Managed to trade in my s8 to get an s9 for only $170.

  • After I joined flybuys I found it’s inconvenient to the point of exasperation to use the discounted gift card offer listed to buy the iPad due to size limits.

  • side question, I believe Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen) is best value for money at this stage as balance of everyday use & great value.
I dont think this upcoming BIGW and OW deal in next 4 days covers Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen).
So wondering where is the best place to buy currently?

  • Drats, I just bought a series 10 from Officeworks less than 2 weeks ago, I guess I’ll check if my credit card has price protection

    • Officeworks have a 30 day change of mind return policy. I'd done the same and recently bought the 10 but returned when I saw big W were putting the new model on sale.

      • Had you opened it? I’ll give it a go, it’s worth it for the $100 difference

    • Are there any debit cards with price protection ?

    • This is series 11, price protection is not applicable.

I will say it's kinda interesting seeing apple AU here always having a sub $500 ipad.

Has this always been the case over the years? I've never noticed.

I bought iPad 9 (2021) soon after release under $500 from Apple Store Sydney

      • Well, what do u expect for a 64gb capacity device⁉️I wouldn’t really call it cheap. They somehow come down on release dates, whenever they bring out a new one. It’s not as if it’s new technology. The first ever ones were around $900 bucks. And then, it was new technology.

You need at least 128gb for a tech device these days. Because the iOS updates take up alot of capacity and so does the apps.

        • The iPad 9 is still good enough for me. Mostly for reading news, magazines, browsing, and YouTube. The biggest app storage is used by PressReader app for reading magazines (a lot of magazines downloaded). Free magazines (supposed to cost a lot of money if not free), etc. through free library membership. So, huge savings to cover the iPad price. Still many GB left for free storage.

  • Its crazy to see a ipad 11” and a Apple Watch under 2” are at same price 🤓

Managed to score the Apple iPad 11" A16 Wi-Fi 128GB for $429.05 at Officeworks!

    Process:

    1. Bought 5 × $50 Ultimate Kids gift cards at Coles with a $25 discount
      → deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/907738

    2. Went to another Coles store, but couldn’t get the discount again since I used the same Flybuys card.

    3. Registered a new Flybuys card with a different email (same mobile number).

    4. Returned to the second Coles store and successfully purchased 4 × $50 Ultimate gift cards with a $20 discount
→ Added all gift cards to my Google Wallet.

    5. Went to Officeworks and had them price beat the iPad against Big W’s price — brought it down to $474.05 (staff were already aware of this price match).
→ Asked to use 9 × $50 gift cards. Initially, they mentioned a limit of 5 gift cards for Apple products (to prevent abuse). I politely questioned this, and after consulting with a manager, they agreed to accept all my gift cards.

    6. Scanned gift cards totaling $450 (saving $45) and paid the remaining $24.05 with a credit card.

    FINAL COST: $429.05

Whole process took me about 2 hours — definitely a bit of a hassle, so it might not be for everyone. But I’m very happy with the result!

I bought 10x $50 Ultimate Student gift cards to buy an iPad for my daughter. I'm worried they won't accept more than 5, I can't see any conditions on the 5 gift card policy.

      • Made up rule by that worker.

        • Thank you. Does anyone know if you can ring officeworks up and they price match but then you pay with giftcards in store?

          • @JamisonMac1882: Just tried to price match over the phone. They told me they couldn’t as big w’s listing didn’t have a part/product number.

            • +1

@Sh0paholic: That's weird, it literally says A16 in the title of the product on the big W page?

              • +1

                @JamisonMac1882: Agree completely

                • @Sh0paholic: Perhaps the post author can post the receipt?

                • +4

@Sh0paholic: The BIG W website does not list the model number for any of their iPads.

In the world of Apple, each iPad has unique model numbers for each variant, depending on the region they are originally sold in. For example, if you consider the iPad 11 Wi-Fi 128GB Blue:

                  • On the Officeworks website, it lists the model number as MD4A4X/A, which identifies this as the Australian and New Zealand version for the iPad 11 Wi-Fi 128GB Blue variant.

                  • The variant sold in the United States (e.g. at Best Buy) has the model number MD4A4LL/A

                  • The variant sold in Canada (e.g. at Best Buy Canada has the model number MD4A4CL/A, etc.

It sounds like the Officeworks person that you called earlier was being pedantic in checking whether the variant sold at BIG W was identical to the one sold at Officeworks (i.e. it was an Australian / New Zealand version, not a grey import), and the way to confirm this would be through the model number. I would be extremely surprised for BIG W themselves to sell a grey import model, so you were unlucky.

I am glad to hear that you were able to get a price match in-store in the end. I guess it illustrates how some staff are less rigorous than others with price beat requests!

                  • @WookieMonster: I had the same trouble in store as well. Lucky for me the sales guy was awesome and said he would match it.

  • +2

Did a price beat in store today. No issues. While I paid with 5x50 gift card, I don't think there would have been any issue using 10. The checkout girl certainly did not say anything.

Also onepass members, you should've got around 2400 points. Remember to scan your Flybuys

Thanks Rockhard. I might try and head to officeworks this afternoon.

  • I did a price beat today for big w one of the employee didnt want to do it but lucky the other two wanted too, She was saying it was out of stock and the other employee shouldn't price beat it . But it showed free delivery so they price beat

  • +2

Just FYI I went into Officeworks tonight to pick up my one, and they have already reduced the price down to $497 which is a few bucks less than big W so the price beat doesn’t work. Still a great deal though.

iPads are already reduced online - showing $497 now.
