    $189.05 power pass

  • Great price.. i bought when it was posted on here last at $275 and though i got a bargain, this is a steal!

  • Will it reduce my time during pit stops?

    • +1

You may need to speak to you doctor about that one

    • -1

Only if you are Lando Norris. For piastri it increases the time

      • Max has entered the chat

  • Can someone please let me know if this is powerful enough to drill into concrete and bricks? Thanks.

    • +2

      100% it is!
I have the same model not Maclaren and it's perfect for home renovations.
If you don't need the extra battery you can sell it for about $80.

It drills through brick and concrete like a hot drill bit through butter.

    • +4

Yes, it is powerful enough. The question is are you powerful enough? If you don't have a drill and need to drill into most materials, with brick being a sometimes task, then yes. If you will drill brick often, then no. Purchase a rotary hammer drill if you will be drilling brick often. Life will then be pleasurable.

      • +1

This is fine for 400 holes a day in brick. I've used it to replace an entire floor. Concrete can do 200 a day easy

    • +5

Powerful enough, yes. For those who don't know, you also need to select hammer mode and use the correct drill bit…

    • it will do the job, but will take some time. not as power or fast as other drill, but at this price you really can't find better.

    • -1

      No

    • +1

With the right drill bits, yes.

Also $200 is a good deal since the two batteries alone would sell more than that.

  • +1

Cheers looks like decent deal for the batteries

  • So the battery is compatible with other DeWalt tools?

    • as long as it is the 18-20v range of battery tools

  • +2

    It’s a DCD805 mentioned in TTC’s video

    • Specifically, it's more like the European version of the 805 in that it has anti-kickback. As far as I know, the 805's sold here didn't have it, at least mine didn't.

      • How do you know whether it has anti-kickback or not?

        • +2

I suppose I should have said anti-rotation. This one says anti rotation on top of the light and it's mentioned in the description. I imagine the 805s with that feature would also have the anti rotation sticker and status lights.

    • The McLaren versions of the tools have sealed batteries as well, good for working around automotives etc

  • Thanks for all the advice. Got one.

  • Would it be worth getting the combo kit for $399?

    • +2

if you want top end buy this when the next spend & save is on will get $100 voucher back, if you dont need batteries & grinder they can be sold for grinder $170, 6ah $110, 5ah $70, fast charger $80, case $40

      • When is the next spend and save?
It's strange they include that flexvolt battery in the kit while no tools are flexvolt
        Thanks.

        • +1

not sure, one just passed this week, but can also keep an eye on syd tools & total tools as they do the same deal, 6ah can be used on all 18v tools

        • +1

The drill driver will deliver more power with a Flexvolt battery than a regular 18v one. They call it Flexvolt Advantage.

        • +1

          Now!

      • That drill is an absolute beast. It trades blows with the Bosch 150C for the most powerful (torque and watts output) drill out there

  • +1

Thanks got one was tossing up between this and the Milwaukee M18FPD3-0 GEN-4 skin only for $259 but this is hard to pass up with 2 x 5ah batteries!

  • Thx OP, bought one, was hesitating on last deal but finally caved in, 2x5ah batts is a no brainer with a case as a bonus :)

  • Is this good for cars suspension work?

    • +1

You just need cable ties for that :D

    • +1

No. You want an impact wrench to get those ugga-duggas. Basically, you want higher torque specs.

Something like the DCF921 or DCF922. The short body gets into tighter spaces. It has very good breakaway torque for its size (609Nm).

  • Will this work with

Full Boar 40 Piece Impact Torsion Bit Set ?

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/full-boar-40-piece-impact-torsio…

    • Yes, but this is a drill only, not an impact driver. The difference being that impact drivers are designed to work specifically with this type of bit, so they have a quick change mechanism for them. Drills are designed to work with drill bits first and foremost, so they have a screw-based tightening chuck that will grip a round drill bit. An impact driver also delivers additional rotational force which bits like this are designed to use and benefit from, whereas a drill doesn't.

TL;DR: Yes, this drill will be able to use the bits you linked.

      • +1

When I had 2 drills, I kept a quick-change bit holder permanently in one of them to use as a screwdriver. Looks like this kit also has a bit holder (albeit not a locking one)

  • +4

Keep this kit in mind same drill and impact 2 less batteries but a bonus recip worth $270 I think it's a better deal if you need all the tools.

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/dewalt-18v-xr-2-piece-5-0ah-comp…

    • @pazloft What do you mean by less batteries? It looks like this also has 2, unless the combo has changed since you posted?

I've been tossing up this combo vs the solo drill. The saw looks handy but I'm not sure I'd use a driver.

Beware. Bought this online click and collect at local Bunnings. Arrived and picked up. Got it home, opened box, and one battery was missing……. Managed to go back and renegotiate price due to nil other stock available. Wasted half my day

  • Saw one of these new on FB marketplace with 1 battery. $250. ozbargain member?

  • I bought one at North Lakes bunnings today, they had 3 in stock. Pretty good for the price.

  • VIC more or less sold out

  • +1

Got one today from Total Tools, they also dropped their price down to $199 and I added some bit extensions and bits to get it to $250, which gave me the bonus $50 in points too. Up until yesterday they had it at $349, and price matching negates bonus points at both TT and ST. Sydney Tools excluded this kit from bonus points altogether..

This drill is bloody great! The chuck is absolutely spot on with no runout whatsoever, it's the truest chuck I've ever seen on any drill. The size is really compact, it's about 180mm, almost a whole 3cm shorter than my Bosch 85C.
