Is that a good machine as in value for money?
Washing quality, economy, longevity ..
Das Waschmaschine. Invented for life. Think you are buying a brand-new Mercedes!
Yes, the Series-8 Bosch i-DOS machine is great - has been a workhorse in my household for last 4+ years.
I got my Bosch from another ozbargain deal years ago given the reviews it seemed like a good machine however it constantly fails to spin the clothes dry.
Regardless of the size of the load or trying to balance it over and over again it just randomly doesnt spin loads, so you end up spinning them again and again until you get a complete cycle
I thought F&P is coming out of China as it is owned by Haier.
Google AI says Thailand, but some NZ websites say China. E&S say Thailand. I'll have to check mine when I get home (I have the Series 9 11kg) but pretty sure it said Thailand.
cost price of this is $1200 so make sure you haggle
How do you find this out?
i asked
Sounds like you are basing off a different model, there is no way this has a cost of $1,200.
Check out the F&P Series 9 10kg model in graphite for $1244, with steam care, auto dose, lots of other features. Bit cheaper than the Bosch but competes with it very well (including looking better), as the reviews would suggest. Appliances Online will obviously match HN if you don't want to buy through them.
Completely different machines in terms of quality and how they work.
The Fisher Paykel is effectively Haier that are manufacturing laundry appliances in China and Thailand.
The price point of the linked model is purely for the Graphite colour and Auto Dose which is a poor copy of the Bosch iDos, the other Fisher Paykel 10KG deal is more appropriately priced for the product they offer. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/909879Wondered how long before Bosch Shill™ would enter the chat. They paying you alright?
Thailand has a very good reputation for producing high quality consumer, technology products and vehicles. Bosch also make appliances in different parts of the world, including China.
Considering both the series 8 & series 9 of the respective brands are almost equally rated across multiple websites there's no substance to your claim that one feature is a "poor copy". It either automatically doses, or it doesn't.
Haha so does that make you a Haier Shill?
God forbid someone gives the reality of what is happening currently in the market.
Having to talk about irrelevant topics of “technology products” or “vehicles” when we are talking about Haier…
If anything maybe look into B/S/H Bosch for those categories if you wanted to go down that avenue? Lol…Love that you think it’s about who pays more since it’s actually Haier that financially incentivises retailers let alone Fisher Paykel being an agency brand…
Bosch actually has very low margin being aggressively priced on the market, any salesperson will tell you that.I am so sorry for being honest with still dealing with more problems with Fisher Paykel (Haier) than Bosch.
Also that is true that Bosch manufactures in other countries, the key difference is it is a Bosch factory that has been around for years and testing to the same standards such as testing every single washing machine.
Bosch Washing Machines are Series 8 German, Series 6 Spain, Series 4 Poland. Not Haier trying to just use the Fisher Paykel brand name.
You are also completely wrong with automatically dosing being the same across the brands but please enlighten me if you truely think there is no difference between Fisher Pakyel/Haier and Bosch automatic dosing systems, or are we just reading the brochure and website?
There are other benefits with a Bosch but it’s all the same yea?I have had this machine WGG244A0AU/09 (German origin) for 6 months and it's awesome.
If I had the money, I would have opted for the WiFi model but not a deal breaker.
The only negative about is the silver panel around the program dial. If your laundry room isn't well lit, it's not easy to read unless you get close to it.
Also wish the LED stayed on longer inside the machine as there is something therapeutic about watching the machine wash at the start. Definitely notice how long laundry detergent is lasting using iDOS.
Also, if you use the 1400 rpm spin then the clothes are almost dry. Even at 1200 rpm they are only slightly damp at the end.Hart & Co.'s website has it listed for $1,385, can price match with Appliance Online.
https://hartandcoappliances.com.au/bosch-9kg-series-8-front-…I price matched it with https://www.signatureappliances.com.au/products/9kg-series-8… to bring it down to $1299! :)
WGG24401AU isnt this a different model, I am trying to understand the difference
you're right WGG24401AU meant to have no i-dos, but that link says it has i-dos so appliances online actually still price matched me and give it to me for 1299 :)
thanks heaps
worked for me too :)
