  • Make sure you get these made fresh when ordering.

    • +3

Why don't they always make them fresh?

      • I wouldn't know, but I meant is when you eat it that it's fresh. Went there recently and it tasted like it's been in the warmer for a few hours.

  • Is there a list of participating stores?

    • +22

I don't know… but for those who print off the vouchers, here is a PDF with 6 vouchers on the first page, or for the true ozbargainer, 12 vouchers on the second page!

      • Thanks man, I'll rep you if I could.

        • If you notice, the link from the OP now says it expires on the 20/1

          My link says 26/2

          Ozbargain conspiracy??

        • +2

Red Rooster changed it soon after it was posted for some reason.. they've pulled images early in the past so I made sure to save the original image straight away this time :)

If I was the OP I would've mentioned the great reduction in the deal period with a comment rather than a stealth edit, especially as the revisions tab doesn't reflect any calendar changes…

In Victoria Ferntree Gully is. I was told most stores in the SE of Melbourne are ie Rowville, Dandenong, Vermont, Bayswater, Chirnside Park

  • Thanks Stephane, I might give this a go on the weekend

  • Is this valid today? Their website says the Value Back promotion begins tomorrow http://www.redrooster.com.au/

Tried it. Wont allow the deal today. Starts tomorrow!!

Good deal but I doubt I'd ever eat there again (at least at the local one at Narangba).
We bought a rippa sub combo, a roster roll combo and a kids meal on Thursday last week and were disappointed as it was cold, the chips were soggy, my rippa sub had nearly no lettuce in it and my wife and I ended up crapping the rest of the night away.

Thankfully our three year old daughter was smart enough not to eat any of hers and it "tasted yucky" according to her.

Expensive and poor food control standards, hmm……….

I'd like to say it's an isolated incident but the one at Aspley and Nudgee were not much better.

If anyone from Red Rooster cares, feel free to contact me.

I don't really know how Red rooster is still afloat. There is a huge market for quick roast chicken meals for families and they fail on so many fronts.

    • +5

Agree totally. Had to eat on the run a couple of times at various RR's and all were terrible. Hope the rep is listening. Pretty even consensus from fellow OzB's by the sounds of it.

    • tl;dr - give me free stuff

    • +2

its not even consensus. people complain when they have a bad experience, they don't praise when they have a good one. to balance this, the red rooster where i live is awesome and they run a tight ship.

      • Agree. The girl who served us at the Highpoint store was very friendly and efficient.

  • Red rooster is falling apart, all of my local ones are closing down. Finding one for me is a whole adventure lol.
50% off is too good though. Ill probably get this in a couple of days time :D

    • Yeah have not seen a red rooster store in years

    • I'm in Maroubra NSW, there is one just opened across the road from me. Yeah, haven't been to one in yonks, last time was probably 10 years ago, mainly due to their limited geographic coverage and just bad food.

  • Seems cheap but I've not going to bite. I've given red roster a chance over and over again and every time they (don't fail to) disappoint.

Just last week I got sucked in with the free upgrade for the meal for one…most small dry old piece of chicken. And the week before I got similar quality chicken at different red roster…

I dunno sales rep. Maybe try less with the value crowd and improve on the food you serve people. Dunno what happened, I remember really liking red roster in my childhood…

…guess you can say red roster "raped" my childhood like the star war prequels lol…yeah ok it was funnier in my head…

    • Which store is this please?

      • Last week, terrible chicken from the Bourke Street Melbourne Store.
The week before was the southern cross station store. terrible chicken at there twice. Dunno I'm a sucker for punishment or maybe my judgement is dodgy when I'm starving at lunchtime…

Yes, that's how bad the chicken has got, its VERY hard to disappoint me when I'm hungry…

Maybe i'll try again in a couple of years if they are still around lol

        • +1

Never been to those stores, but the FTG store is usually very good.

        • +1

FTG has always been good for me, others can be a bit hit and miss though.

    • The Rippa is actually really great. Some of the Red Roosters around Sydney seem to be improving their quality as it was so bad in the past.

  • +1

yes, can only agree, tried to use a voucher there a couple of weeks ago and the manager would not take it, it was the one that you buy one meal and get he same free.. not happy had the kis with me. Then I rang and complained the next morning and they put me through to the national manager, who was lovely and told me to go back with the voucher as it expired that day and there would not be a problem. All good the second time, but what an effort to get a free meal… not rushing back.

    "2 Rippas, 6320kj: Serves two"

    Challenge accepted!

  • +5

6320kj - far out, do they TRY to make it as bad for you as possible?

    • +2

Considering that is equivalent to 3160 kJ for each one, and the subway equivalent is 3280 kJ. I would say that is fairly reasonable.

      http://www.subway.com.au/interactivemenu/2011/default.asp

      • haha i just calculated the sub i have + 3 cookies is 6907 Kj!

  • +6

I live in the bermuda triangle of fast food - my nearest three stores consist of 2 red roosters and 1 chicken treat. With the chances of getting a rippa sub that is actually fit for human consumption getting lower every year, I will happily avoid this deal and drive my fat ass the extra few Ks to get fast food that I will still feel guilty eating. (but at least it will taste good).

    • same here. one newly opened Red Rooster across the road, a Maccers around the corner and a KFC about 500m down the road.

  • What is size of this Rippa meal? same as 6inch subway?

    • +3

it would actually be 24 inches of rippa for you stella.

      • +1

Im sorry, I thought from previous times ive had these they were the same size as subway, however i measured mine today and it was 8 inches.

        • Looks like there has been some serious shrinkage.

  • As with some others, I'm not the biggest fan. Sort of thing I'll consider if I'm at an airport maybe, but generally I avoid them. If I want chicken on the go, I'll go to KFC or possibly Nandos.

  • good deal with the offer.. otherwise no so. Thats the reason they call it a Rippoff (Rippa)

  • Is this for WA as well?

I dont mind a rippa roll every now and then :D

  • Oh, and I know a fair bit about the running of fast food, well take away food, and I dont know how these places run with such bad managers and slack workers. I guess if I managed one someone from high up would tell me off a lot lol.

  • Can you substitute the Rippa's for 2 Flayva's? (they cost the same). I find the chilli and garlic Flayva tasty.

  • huge fan of red rooster and will be taking up this offer today!
    thanks for the post :)

  • I love Rippas!!!!!! Dat sauce…

  • I've not had a problem so far with red rooster, I much prefer it over chicken treat, yummmm

  • tasted quite good! pleasantly surprised!

  • +1

can i show this on my phone instead of printing it out?

    • Also would like to know if anyone has secsessfuly done this? Or if the rep can comment if its possible?

  • Kelly RIPPA!

  • Hampton are a good store. Renovated and good quality people. Food good too, high turn over fresh food…

  • Challenge complete! 2 rippas and also a $2 small chips finished in about 10 mins.

    • What is your verdict on da rippas!?

      • Two for $6.75 is fantastic! I have bought before and will again.

        • Awesome, Cheers mate!
I take it that it tastes good and is decently filling. :)

        • -1

I got two for $6.25 at Hampton.

What I did was rip off the ends of the bread roll (the filler) and stack the two pieces of 'chicken' together. Now I have two shorter rippers and not hopefully 6200kj consumed!

        • yeah it was $6.25 actually. My math is terrible.

  • Only four days tip expiry, brrr!

  • can we show this on the phone or do we have to print the thing out;/

    • +1

I went through drive through, said I have the two for one rippa deal voucher, the window lady didn't ask for it or take it, still in my car for lunch today……AGAIN haha

  • +2

Nah you gotta print it out.

So I went to Brisbane's Red Rooster, and they were quite reluctant to take it, saying that there wasn't a code on the voucher. Once I pointed it out, the girl mumbled something to someone else and grudgingly handed over the subs.

I hate how sometimes they make you feel like you've just committed the biggest crime ever, just because you pull out a voucher lol.

  • Yer its not their money its the owners money so why is it the lowly paid workers problem lol

    • Because they probably get yelled at.

  • +2

Wasn't allowed at Summer Hill NSW, told it's 'only for lunch'. Rubbish.

Needs a list of participating stores, and proper communication to branches as above with what Montorola experienced. -_-

  • aww ends today and I still haven't worked out where red rooster is.
