Anyone know why it seems Coles has offers like these maybe 80/20 split with Woolies? Great deal, but I always thought this was strange.

Never had these, are they any good?

    • +9

      Never had these

      So you've had naan ?

      • +37

Probably had it but had to sign a naan disclosure.

        • +33

had to sign a naan disclosure.

They had to tikka all the boxes.

Naan, Parantha's and Aloo Tikki are great taste and value. I like Sabrini Samosas more than Haldirams

      • +2

I agree. It's shame they took Sabrini chilli milli off the list

        • Chili milli were the best for my spicy taste buds. Love the haldiram alo paratha though.
Everything else is meh. The only thing I don’t like are these naans.

Just had the naan tonight & 2 of us say they are awful ,coles also sells naans in the chilled area another brand made in Canada & they are good also the Aldi ones are good I think they are same supplier .

    • Yeah, they're a great brand, try anything and everything.

    "Coles India"

    ???

  • wish they had the jumbo samosas, less pastry more filling ratio.

    • +2

Yeah, Sabrini samosas are better especially their paneer filling

  • +1

    Haldiram's - good
Haldiram's Nagpur - not so good
Jumbo samosa better than normal tiny-miny not so much filled poor fella..
Naan are tricky to be kept soft after getting them microwave-d and roasted..

    • Agreed. The naans need to be consumed straight out of the oven (painted with ghee or butter) otherwise they end up like goats' knees.

      • +1

        Are goats knees nice?

        • Goat knees are callled Paayaz - Yes they are good if you know how to cook them. We make Paaya Soup every month - Good for your bones & people who suffer from Arthritis.

I love a good Onion Bhaji. Anyone tried these ones?

      • +1

Cheers. Yeah fresh is probably best.

Haldiram Onion Bhaji - The best. You should try Spinach Pakora from same section which is exactly the same as Onion Bhaji but with some Spinach & tastes yummy although Im not a fan on Spinach but these are delicious ones Air Fried.

  • I’m going to ask my Indian colleague their views and see if it’s worth it lol

      To share with us…. Right?

  • Not sure about other things as I don't like their taste, but the Naans at 7$ are a deal. I stocked up today with 3 packs until next time. Sprinkle some water on the naans and heat them in an oven.

    • I bet you Air Fry it & save some money on Oven.

      • I would definitely if I was doing one or two naans. I usually do 6-7 so can't do it fast enough. But it would work, yes.

  • The naan (naans?) is/are great. I cut one them half and heat them up in a toaster directly from the freezer.

    • Best to microwave them for about a minute first. Then sprinkle with water and toast/warm

      • I'll try that next time, but they come out pretty good from just toasting them still frozen.

        • @topherboi : Invest on AirFryer I bet you will be my Fan.🙂

        • For context, i microwave them for 1 minute then place them on a sandwich press (only one side so not to squash them). Sprinkle with water a couple of times. Then i spread garlic butter and serve.

Has anyone tried these roti? I really, really like Katoomba brand roti from my local Indian store (was recommended by staff there). I have since tried every other brand they sell and nothing came close to those Katoomba ones. But I’m curious about the ones posted here. For that price, I might just have to get some and do another ‘taste-off’!

    • +1

Katoomba is better - we prefer Katoomba roti and naan to Haldiram's.

    • These are different than Katoomba ones. Katoomba are similar to roti canai. The phulka roti are very thin, small and are made from wholemeal flour. You can literally finish them in 4 bites :P

  • Does anyone know where I can buy the green sauce that comes in the samosa box? Ingredients said it was a green chutney and I bought the bottle green chutney from the same brand and it's completely different.

    • Go to Indian grocery and buy fresh one from Amba
