Was doing some research on a new sparkling water maker and this one seems to get lots of positive reviews, as not only does it support drinks other than water, but it also seemingly is more efficient with the amount of CO2 it uses compared to the equivalent Sodastreams.

Seems to also use the old 'blue' connector allowing for an easy hook-up to a large CO2 cylinder.

Priced around $150 elsewhere, but ol' mate Gerry had it on sale at $120, which MyDeal matched last night, but they have the benefit of the extra $15 off coupon.

This pretty much matches the price of the previous deal from a couple of years ago, given that had delivery on top: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/793988

Edit: also 13% cashback at Cashrewards today but MyDeal regularly has higher amounts if you’re prepred to hodl

OP seems plain wrong, based on the video linked below.

But it's easy for differences to exist between the different carbonation machines, it mainly comes down to the pressure relief valves.

Sodastream started with screw in bottles, but since it was new and interesting people were carbonating all sorts of crap in them. Milk, wine, etc, which were going way overpressure and shooting all over the kitchen, bad for marketing. They swapped to a press-fit bottle system which effectively is a massive overpressure valve, making it less prone to spraying drinks everywhere when used incorrectly, but also just wastes Co2.

I personally swapped from Sodastream to one of these : https://kegland.com.au/products/diy-budget-soda-water-kit
But I think it's overkill now tbh. Still, almost zero wasted Co2 is nice.

Have had one of these for about 12 months now. Love it. Have carbonated reds wine in it too l, just for funsies.

For those other owners out there, their bottles with an expiry date of 01/26-10/26 are subject to recall at the moment if you're not aware.

Thanks, I was not aware of the recall until I saw your comment.

Can anyone recommend an affordable glass option? Sodastream Duo is ridiculously expensive.

This technically fits the criteria, but I suspect that if someone doesn't trust plastic drink bottles, they definitely won't want to drink from something of aliexpress lmao

Those are bottles for the Sodastream Duo. I need an alternative for the Sodastream Duo machine itself. Still, thank you for the link as I will no doubt need more glass bottles if I do find a cheap Sodastream Duo.

They aren't bottles. It's an adapter that lets you use the glass Crystal bottles with other Sodastream machines.

@Joost: Ahhh, I see. Sorry, I'm a bit tired :P Thank you very much. I'm not sure how much I trust it, but I will give it a go if I can't find a Sodastream Duo on marketplace, or an affordable alternative. Thanks again :)
