Luckily it takes about 10 minutes to fix in most cases
@merriweather: Take the controller apart, pry open the green tab of the potentiometer, clean the inside with rubbing alcohol, put back together, there is videos on youtube, you have to be careful but after doing it once it gets easier, i have fixed about 4 controllers so far for me and others, you can buy spare potentiometers from amazon, i usually pull the little wheel out of a new one and replace the old one, goodluck
