      They won't refund you "their" credit

          Plan is available, BUT…

          Retailer Electricity BILL CREDIT* is not refundable. Worth $0 if you leave.
          Its only available to pay your Origin electricity BILL on that account.

          Often discussed in electricity Offer Deals.

          There are often better offers (e.g. $175-200 MasterCard) + up to $200 Retailer Electricity Credit! You get money back + bill credit to pay for electricity!!

          Taken up many retailer credits, including a $200 Electricity Credit offer with Origin.
          No refund was the condition. So stuck with Origin until it was used up.

          Whereas Govt rebate is refundable. Left Origin last year with refund of over $1150 due to Qld $1000 + Fed $75 rebates💰 Never paid a bill!

            @INFIDEL: 🥹🥹🥹 you lucky banana benders

            • @dealt: Not so much now after change of Qld Govt…

              No generous $1000 electricity rebate😢

              Car Rego frozen, then reduced by 25% last year - now unfrozen & higher than before.
              My Drivers License needed to be renewed - now dearer… Rarely drove.
              So no longer have a car - saving plenty💰

              Luckily 50c public transport remained🎉

              We'll survive😊

            @INFIDEL: With Deals - haven't paid for electricity for years.
            With rebates - made profit on electricity💰
            Took up another electricity Deal yesterday for $175 MasterCard.

                @dealt: Everyone's circumstances are different…

                Unlike for most Ozbargainers…
                Keeping energy costs low is easier up North, with no need for Winter heating.
                (21C @10pm in house tonight.)

                Only use aircon occasionally in Summer, for 2 months, to control humidity.

                All electric house. 1 occupant. No solar
                No bills to pay😊

          • @INFIDEL: Thanks so if I stay long enough to use $100 worth of electricity then leave . Will the $100 go to the bill?

            • @Hendrix: Yes. Thats what a Bill Credit does - reduces amount owing on the bill.

              $100 on bill - $100 Bill Credit = $0 owing.

              I've been using electricity Deals (often with Bill Credits) for years to reduce my bills to $0.
              It's a bit hard to understand if you're new to it😉

              • @INFIDEL: im looking at the electricity churn game but in nsw i get $75 credit a quarter from government. When's the best time to churn to avoid missing out on the government rebate?

                  @cheap4321: Anytime.
                  Unused Govt rebate is refunded to your bank account etc by retailer.
                  Its your money💰

                  After leaving retailer, you may need to ask for it, depending on retailer. Origin held on & gave excuses. PowerShop promptly refunded.

                  This year, had 1 refund of rebates totalling ~$1150 ($1000 Qld, 2 x $75 Fed) from Origin💰💰💰
