Hi all,

OnePlus Watch 3 is back on sale and at an all time low. Green is also available for a few dollars more. Should hopefully stack with cash back for even more off. This is the best bang for buck Wear OS watch going.

  • I had a OnePlus phone in the past. In my view, they don't really do a good job of support…
    YMMV

    • Comes with 3 years of updates but up to you if you need more.

  • Heard a lot about battery life upto 5 days in few reviews

    • I get about 5 days with AOD off but a lot of gym and running.

      • Does Google Wallet work with this watch?

        • +1

          Yes it does

  • Am I missing something? The seller/supplier is noted to be https://www.aliexpress.com/store/1968447 (hongkong willvast Store) rather then the official OnePlus Store?

    • Yeah, Im seeing the same. Searching he OnePlus Watch 3 on AliExpress, the second result at $25 more was the official OnePlus Store.

    • genuiely wondering if that's a problem? I guess as long as it's a global version it shouldn't be any problem

    • I bought last night and it was from the official store, but they might have now run out of stock.

      • I didn't know until I revisited this post, I found this on the product page.

"This page aggregates information about same product sold by multiple sellers. The products may differ in details owing to the actual seller. The current seller for this item is hongkong willvast Store"

  • Thanks, just ordered one from Hong Kong willvast store.. hope all goes well.

Always had Garmin forerunner but keen to try something new (and much cheaper).

  • I saw Honour watch 4 pro for US$164 listed in the recommended items on AliExpress after looking at this one. Anyone got any experience comparing the two? I'm a fairly basic user, I don't need a ton of apps, and don't need perfect health/fitness monitoring. Happy with "fairly internally consistent" - as long as the device will reflect me getting better or worse consistently, I don't care if it's 100% matching real steps or exact heart rates. But if it's sometimes too high, and sometimes too low, that's not good. Needs to always be a little high, or always a little low, if that makes sense.

I've currently got a CMF watch pro 2, which on paper looked like it ticked all of my boxes:
    Long battery life
    Blood c02 all day
    All day pulse
Automatic sleep detection (don't have to manually tell it to track your sleep )
    In built GPS
Looks classy, with some physical accessories to mix up the look (interchangeable bezels)
    Stopwatch/timer
    Alarms
    Notifications
    Readable screen in sunlight
    Customisable watch faces
    Wireless charging

    The reality though:
Sometimes battery life burns through in a few days, even when not using it to track any workouts. Sometimes lasts a week. Can't see any reason it's burning through when it does.
CMF app, after syncing data, does not show the same sleep info as the watch for a given sleep.
GPS can't be used for navigation, it's only for workouts tracking
Additional bezels are expensive extra purchases bundled with watch bands. And very limited options
Scroll crown on mine doesn't work
Timer can't run in background on watch. It must stay on full screen display to continue to count down. Stopwatch happily runs in background so you can use the rest of the watch features at the same time.
Alarms are not your phone's alarms. They're the watch's only. So must be set through the watch or watch app manually to match your phone's alarms, if you want them the same.
Notifications are very variable in what they'll show. Not all apps' watch notifications will match what the phone notification has.
Screen polarisation is at 90 degrees, so if you try looking at the watch in sunlight with polarised sun glasses on (which I imagine is 90% of people doing outdoor workouts?) the screen is invisible. Need to look at the watch screen 90 degrees sideways to see it, which you then need to read all the text sideways, not to mention the wrist contortion to get there.
Customisation for watch face is you get two basic widgets, and can add your own background image. Date formats of provided faces are fixed, ignoring your locale, so 90% use mm/dd . All the dates in the phone app also use mm/dd format when they use a short date. And it's not consistent between functions inside the app for how they use dates. Some just have a single number along the bottom axis for the day date number. Some mm/dd
"Wireless charging" is yet another proprietary shaped magnetic 2-pole cable
