Iniu Power Banks Losing Battery Health Too Fast?

Have a 10000mah and 20000mah INIU powerbank which are popular on Ozbargain and both seem to have lost battery health very quickly. Anyone notice the same?

I know @Prong has done tests when new where INIU Powerbanks pass with great results but after my approximate 50 cycles and half a year, the battery health is appalling for mine. My 10000mah INIU charges my phone less than my 8yr old 10000mah Xiaomi Powerbank. Less than one full charge makes it into my 5000mah phone. 20000mah/74wh 65w powerbank can't charge my 45wh laptop past 70%.

I also have a VRURC 20000mah and Charmast "10000mah" (which was tested by @prong to be poor) and both of these outperform my INIUs.

On a side note anyone also have issues with the INIU's percentage indicator being wrong? E.g. 70% becomes the new 100% even after charging for hours until you do a full charge from dead.

Item details for the 10000mAh says that it has a 3 year warranty. Ask customer service or the seller for a replacement.

Did that and they ask for a ridiculous laundry list of evidence and testing. Not worth it over $20.

Just get chatgpt to knock up the documents they ask for.

      • Wait really ? What kind of tests ?

  • i have a big inui and two medium ones
the big ones dies at 30% always
    the medium ones are ok

  • OP where did you buy it, did you buy from Iniu directly?

    • You must be new here.

I was the one who made that joke in forums. you can't make it on me!! 😀

or are you not trying to make the "hi new here" joke? I'm confused.

is it your way of saying ignorant users post this in forums all the time? (haven't been that active in ozb forums tbh)

because yes I am aware of the many cheap INIU deals posted, I might not have been active for 6-12 months at a time but I saw them posted by browsing signed out.
        like this 10k INIU $17, and 20k 65W INIU $29.
I assumed most likely OP purchased from these popular posts which were pretty regular deals. in which case they should just claim faulty product and return to amazon.

OP if you bought from one of the many cheap INIU amazon deals you return to the store, which is amazon.

start a return process on amazon. just type the reason in the box and get your money back.

people keep making this mistake of trying to return to the actual company. that's not how it works unless you buy from them direct (then they are the store).

  • My 10000mah INIU charges my phone less than my 8yr old 10000mah Xiaomi Powerbank.

Xiaomi powerbanks from the mid 2010s were stellar - I still have three of them that work well to this day. Only downside is that they lack modern features (e.g. the latest fast charging protocols, and charge via micro-USB).

I'm not an expert, but I think Xiaomi powerbanks from those days used really high quality cells. That being said, I did pay close to $50 for a 10,000mAh battery.

The modern INIU, Romoss, Charmast…etc. powerbanks from Amazon probably just use the worst quality rejected cells, and have very aggressive battery management systems that charge them all the way up to completely full capacity and have no provision.

I almost treat them as disposable, and needing to be replaced every now and then. I've been meaning to try and higher quality Anker (or similar branded) option. Xiaomi powerbanks are still available these days, but of course, expensive as is expected.

I bought two Xiaomi ones from around that time (2s model from memory) but unfortunately one ballooned in the case so had to get rid of it. Probably my fault though it probably only ever got charged up to like 30% then down to 0% again and again given the use case. The other still going but hardly use as been attempting to wean off micro-usb where I can.

      • I had the bigger white Xiaomi 20000mah balloon too. I think I noticed it when I was camping and it was in the warm car.

      • what is the best way to get rid of it?

just put it in the household red bin?

or is there actually a proper place you can drop it off at

        • All Aldi and Bunnings stores have a battery recycling box.

Man I must have had terrible luck. I owned about 4 or 5 Xiaomi powerbanks between 2014 and 2017. All died within a few years.

I have a few Romoss units that go strong now a few years in
