I’ll only buy one if every dollar I spend on it goes directly into the wallet of that wonderful, kind-hearted man Donald Trump, so he can treat himself to a few nice coffees and a slice of cake — a small thank-you for his tremendous contributions to humanity.

He’s had such a hard life, after all. Coming from such a tragically disadvantaged background, only inheriting a $400 million real estate empire from his Daddy, only needed to engage in multiple shady tax-haven tricks to survive his multiple business flops, only filing six bankruptcies, and only borrowing recklessly and defaulting — repeatedly — screwing over banks, contractors, and investors alike.

He’s only faced thousands of lawsuits, including for fraud and non-payment, and his Trump Organization was only found guilty of tax fraud as recently as 2022 — with his CFO even landing in jail.

And let’s not forget: multiple independent analyses show that if he’d just dumped his inheritance into a basic index fund and done literally nothing else, he’d be far richer today.

What a genius. Clearly the perfect man to run a country — with his total lack of qualifications and deep, heartfelt concern for the mostly underprivileged, mostly poor Americans that he governs. Definitely deserves a statue. Or at least another failed steak brand.

All those attributes, all those gifts to humanity are ours thanks to what the US refer to as "democracy".

A strong case for compulsory voting I'd say.

Meaningless negative words all jumbled into a paragraph.

          All sourced and evidence-based.

Do you mean stating facts is a disease? Better than ignoring facts, which is one of the main symptoms of TWS (Trump Worship Syndrome).

Fedora wearing reddit atheists are cringe.

Red hat wearing fake idol worshippers on the other hand?

          • @SBOB: Man I thought you were dissing Red Hat Linux users for a second. Felt really insulted, considering I use fedora.

It's not meaningless at all. If you're struggling to comprehend, that's on you.

          • @jackspratt: "For conservatives who don’t want to engage with substantive criticism of their leader, it functions as a thought-terminating cliché, a term often used by people who study cults to describe ideological formulations that short-circuit critical thinking." I like that analysis

          Peak TDS

TDS is what MAGAts are afflicted with; those who idolise and worship Trump and treat him like some sort of deity, or claim he's the second coming.

          • @smartazz104: Putin has the footage
            ; )

            • +2

@Protractor: Seems I upset a bunch of little MAGAts, what a shame.

              • -5

@smartazz104: TDS is cringe. I know us Australians are gullible cucks, but it's it's funny to see you all arc up over political meandering from another country.

        • Its all factually true. You can fact check yourself.

Theres a ton more. His niece Mary Trump has some interesting things to say about the family. A real insight into Donald's emotional motivations

        • +3

Sorry for exacerbating your TWS symptoms with some facts. Not sure what the treatment is.

          • -3

@ForkSnorter: Yeah I don't think you understand how this works, everyone who doesn't agree with your mental illness isn't MAGA or some sort of disciple of Trump, people can not like the guy and just move on with life, some, like yourself can't.
But thats ok, I hope you get the help you need.

            • @91rs: But in my experience, it's only people with TWS who are so sensitive to people criticizing Trump, or pointing out facts about Trump. What is it that bothers you so much? Trump is clearly on another level in terms of shady deals, dirty deeds and criminal records.

Do you really think Obama or Albanese are on the same level as Trump? Are you that delusional?

          • -2

@ForkSnorter: Poster points out that Trump is just one of many awful politicians and businessmen ruining the world, a good chunk of which are likely child molesters. ForkSnorter comes to the rescue to confirms his TDS by not being able to perceive this as anything other than support for Trump.

            • @ssfps: Exactly the kind of thing a person suffering from TWS would say. Trump really is up there among the worst kind of politicians with the worst record of dirty deeds and criminal records, and it is only delusional TWS sufferers who choose to ignore this, or claim "TDS!" when anyone points it out.

But in terms of being a liar, Trump is clearly number one. He has been lying since he was young.

Reality: Inherits $400 million real-estate empire from Daddy
Trump: "I only got a $1 million loan from my Dad. I'm a self-made man."

              • -3

@ForkSnorter: The USA has been at war for the better part of 3 centuries, including the recently beloved Obama signing the orders for wars and bombings of a bunch of countries, bombing hospitals and schools. There's been hundreds of wars, millions of deaths and untold destruction, we've had police investigations into politicians here in aus fiddling with kids being suppressed (as claimed by a senator known for outing corruption) and you're nitpicking a sleezy politician for lying about an inheritance.

                Proves my point really.

                • +2

@ssfps: Your argument is a muddled cocktail of fallacies — a confused blend of the tu quoque fallacy, also called the "appeal to hypocrisy", the whataboutism fallacy, and the red herring fallacy.

If we swap the names around, your logic is equivalent to claiming:

“Let’s not criticize Hitler — someone in Cambodia did something just as bad.”

                  Or:

"No need to focus so much on those bankers that destroyed millions of people's livelihoods in 2007. A similar thing happened in 1929."

                  Brilliant stuff.

Maybe give it another few decades before declaring you’ve got the world all figured out.

On another note, with his new tax policies and axing of public programs, Trump is exacerbating and continuing the trend highlighted in this video, where poorer and middle-income Americans are literally worse off now than they were in the 1950s, despite the growth they saw in the 1960s and 70s, and despite the wealth of the top 1-5% soaring. No matter what perspective you take, there is always something to criticize about Trump, and attempts to deflect criticism based on confused fallacies, is delusional.

                  • @ForkSnorter:

If we swap the names around, your logic is equivalent to claiming:
“Let’s not criticize Hitler — someone in Cambodia did something just as bad.”

That is literally wrong, lets take it step by step for you.
                    Your position is

Trump really is up there among the worst kind of politicians with the worst record

                    and

Reality: Inherits $400 million real-estate empire from Daddy
Trump: "I only got a $1 million loan from my Dad. I'm a self-made man."

                    and my position is

we've had police investigations into politicians here in aus fiddling with kids being suppressed (as claimed by a senator known for outing corruption) and you're nitpicking a sleezy politician for lying about an inheritance.

Which indicates to you that, yes, i realize he's a sleazy dirtbag, as are basically all politicans. I did not say he was above criticism. I said he's not the big evil that you wish to elevate him to. TDS in your case is the elevation of a regular dirtbag to the level of antichrist (slight hyperbole) due to too much consumption of sensationalist news.

Pulling logical fallacies out of your arse doesn't make your argument more convincing, especially when they don't apply to the discuss/argument at hand.
                    For example

“Let’s not criticize Hitler — someone in Cambodia did something just as bad."

I never said lets not critisize Trump, this is your own delusional interpretation of my words. I pointed out your quoting about a storm in a teacup issue when much worse evil exists. That's not "whataboutism", it's directly relevant and counters your claim that Trump is not merely a regular corrupt politician, but is one of the worst politicians.

Trump is exacerbating and continuing the trend

You seem ignorantly confident you've got politics figured out, by ascribing Trump as some kind of relevant factor in this. Every decade for possibly a century (depending on how it's measured), and definitely since the post WW2 boom, has seen poorer and middle income Americans (and most of the anglosphere) worse off than the decade prior in real terms. Yeah, i'm sure Trump is the reason for this continued trend!

                    • @ssfps:

That is literally wrong, lets take it step by step for you.

Your step by step is literally "whataboutism".

i realize he's a sleazy dirtbag, as are basically all politicans.

This is a massive generalization. And it suggests you are significantly lacking in knowledge.

counters your claim that Trump is not merely a regular corrupt politician, but is one of the worst politicians.

You seem blissfully unaware of the long list of dodgy/shady things Trump has engaged in both before, during and after serving as president, as well as being the first and only US president to be convicted of a crime, and the only president to be involved in inciting/encouraging sedition. But my original criticism mostly focuses on his living a "post-truth" life of lies and deception, that has helped him win election twice.

I did not say he was above criticism.

And yet, you and 91rs, who started this response thread, are essentially saying "Why criticize Trump so much? There are way worse things that have happened. You've got TDS."

                      That's not "whataboutism",

Yes it is. Do you have difficulty reading?

Yeah, i'm sure Trump is the reason for this continued trend!

Changes Trump has made in the last 5 months = poorer are likely to be even worse off, and the richer much better off (average of $100,000/ person less taxes paid).

Better not criticize him for this, because that would be TDS.

        • +1

I'm not a fan of Kamala Harris, but obviously she doesn't have a record of dirty deeds that is in any way comparable to Trump.

          • +1

@ForkSnorter: She's not a felon and sex pest either. And I doubt she would incite a democracy hating & violent lynch mob and then pardon. Nor would she praise Putin , belittle world leaders, and use the military for personal gain, on the US people.
No-one needs to work at all to point to Trumps lack of character..It is it's own assassin.

          • -2

            @ForkSnorter:

I'm not a fan of Kamala Harris

Thats what I thought. A biased leftie failing to be objective, even after that proclaimation… right?

      • Tbf his grift with the presidency looks like it has made him exceptionally rich now. Selling pardons for a few mill, having a crypto coin that any prince, oligarch or dictator can use to buy your favour and then there is the market manipulation around his own again off again tariffs. I wonder how many billion he his mates have stolen through those rises and falls?

      • Here's the thing.

Trump thinks he's ok. That's ok. A lot of people think their way is the right way and either don't recognise their weaknesses or just don't care.

He is who he is, and that's ok. Probably not even his fault.

But the thing that gets me though is this:

For whatever reasons, Americans voted for him to be president in 2017.

They didn't like what he did so they voted to replace him with somebody else.

Then six years later, knowing all of this stuff about him, they voted him in a second time and gave him another shot at it.

It's not like anything he is doing is a surprise. He told the whole world what he was going to do and they still voted for him to become president.

Maybe even worse, no other world leaders in the international stage stepped in to stop this from happening, apparently there aren't any avenues to prematurely end his presidency and so many people in the USA have guns and nobody has managed to assasinate him.

From that I draw the conclusion that people from all over the world really like this guy and like what he's doing.

Sure, elect him the first time and see if he can do the job, but to get rid of him and then give him another shot a few years later?

340 million people to choose from and he's the one they decided to elect? Twice!

        • -1

Yep, that sure is one shitload of stupid, gullible, self centred fwits.
The main question is why are we up their arse and wearing their target on our back and paying for the pleasure, with tens of future generations money?

          • @Protractor: Makes me think the people the world should be hating on is whoever made it possible for him to be given the job.

The only thing Trump did was to apply for a job.

His resume is easily available for most people to access.

He told them what he would do if he was given the job.

Heck, he even had a four year trial/probation period for which he didn't receive very good performance reviews.

            Trump applied for a job.

Then they hired him to do that job.

That's on whoever allowed that to happen, not on the dude who applied.

        • I guess that's the problem with US democracy. In a country where 40% of voting citizens lack the knowledge, analytical skills, and intelligence to determine who is a good candidate to rule the country, all you need is a candidate who's discovered the right formula to appeal to, and manipulate, those 40% of voting citizens. The combination of the former and the latter is a recipe for disaster.

It would cost twice as much as promised and take 3 times longer to deliver
The annual cost would increase each year whilst the performance drops
You'd need to login with your government id and provide all your personal and bank information to use it
There would be 'errors' causing your bank account to be garnished and the phone would drop all calls whenever you tried to call someone to get your money back
It would record everything you did on the phone so it could be used against you in the future
You'd be restricted to viewing news only from government propaganda organisations
The network would be 'down' every time you wanted to make a call
It would be obsolete within weeks

One possible reason is to simply rile up Democrats voters to instigate civil unrest (did someone order a pallet of bricks, anyone?) in order to institute more States of Emergency. That's how he enabled the rape and pillage of ordinary people during his first term, with a State of Emergency.

US defence officials have reportedly floated the possibility of using a tactical nuclear weapon to destroy Iran’s critical underground nuclear facility in Fordow.
President Donald Trump is currently weighing whether the US will enter Israel’s war against Iran by joining airstrikes against Tehran’s nuclear program using GBU-57s, massive 13.6-tonne “bunker buster” bombs believed to be the only weapons capable of taking out the deep-underground enrichment facility.
The White House said on Thursday that Mr Trump would make his final decision in the “next two weeks”. The Guardian reports part of the President’s hesitation is linked to his doubts over the bunker buster bomb plan.
