    • AMS 2 Pro compatible with A1 in Q3

      Not cheap though

      • I just feel the AMS 2 Pro is not a good value proposition to pair with A1, it costs more than A1 on sale now ($569 > $419). Plus you don't have the ability to mount it on top of the A1. AMS 2 Pro is more suitable for the P and X series printers.

        • It's not meant to be.

I went for Sunlu S4 and AMS Lite Mini

          • @3dprintdeals: How long does it typically take to dry a filament roll in your Sunlu S4?

            • +1

@edfoo: Every dryer is the same

I mainly got it for PETG

The preset cycle is 6 hours

  • I believe this is worth posting here for anyone to make an informed decision.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/1j7ecv5/what_ha…

  • can someone help? I'm torn between:

    -P1S AMS 2 Pro Combo
    -A1 Combo with AMS
    -Anycubic Kobra 3 V2 3D Printer Combo

    • P1S AMS2 Pro - no regrets
      A1 Combo - solid choice
Kobra 3 V2 8-colour kit - crazy value with the current pricing.

      • What do you think about the ANYCUBIC Kobra S1 Combo? It's $740 at the moment. I'm tossing between the A1 and Kobra S1 as they are similar in pricing.

  • centauri carbon or a1 combo chat?

    • Centauri carbon is overpriced for Aus. $699 rrp.

No ETA on 'AMS' which will be untested and have issues on release. Will it be less than $300?

P1s AMS combo tried and tested.

      • solid response - thanks good sir

  • Just bought a H2D, and some pla filament.
Unsure what else I need to get started?

My first foray into 3d printing.

Do I need Hot beds? Anything else?
Wanted to buy pla but they are out of stock it seems

    • +7

Wow when you want to do something you really dont mess around 😄

      • Yeah EOFY toy for my business.
Also the laser feature is good for us to learn/dable for etching our logo on our enclosures

    • +3

Can get filament elsewhere - jayo is the cheap crowd favourite often on OzBargain

    • H2d was not on sale though. I'd have also gotten it otherwise.
Probably better to wait a bit till the prices come down.

      • +1

EOFY instant asset write off for me which is no longer available

  • Printer arriving today surprisingly !! But I don’t think filaments have been sent, went to trusty jaycar and got some prototyping ender-pla for $15 a roll and a roll of petg for $30, pretty impressed they hold stock and decent pricing (I think!).

    • Mine says today as well, but i highly doubt it. I think the estimated delivery in the tracking is highly ambitious. I'm in Brisbane.

    • +1

Wait for the next Jayo/sunlu deal to really stock up at around $12 for 1.1kg rolls of PLA & PETG

    • Yep same - my AMS 2 Pro has arrived already (early this morning) and the P1S tracking says expecting today again FWIW. My other items including multiple rolls of filament, hotends, etc havn't received a shipped notification yet

Apparently the P1S combo may come with up to four 1/3rd spools of filament in the bottom of the box (fingers crossed) so here's hoping

      • Dont think its 1/3 spools, maybe thr 100g sample pieces

        • Alas with the AMS 2 Pro combo the delivery came in two parts (AMS 2 Pro in one delivery (AusPost) and now the P1S in another (TGE)) - so not the larger combo box with the AMS inside and multiple sample spools below

This one just came with a single sample spool (and no AMS power adapter, buffer or hub)

    • My filaments + accessories and printer itself shipped separately so 2 different couriers

  • P1S already delivered. Less than 24hours after order!

  • My P1S just arrived too (AMS 2 Pro arrived earlier this morning in separate shipment)

  • +1

I got my ams2 today with the aus post postie but the bambu website only says the printer shipped , and a toll ipec number. Those in Sydney who got it today did toll deliver your actual printer?

I tried on team global express as well as the Bambu tracking link but no info.

    • Like you got the ams2 today. Team global express tracking shows eta today, though it has not been picked up yet so not hopeful.

    • Yep - in Sydney and my P1S was delivered (by Toll) a bit over an hour ago

      • Did it track correctly?

        • On the Bambu web site "Package #2" still shows as out for delivery - on the Toll/TGE website it shows as Delivered

  • With my P1S AMS 2 Combo I've received two shipments but it looks like neither of them include the components of the AMS 2 Pro Upgrade Kit that's supposed to come with our Combo (i.e. the Switching Adapter (PSU for drying function), Filament Buffer (or AMS hub if you ordered that option), Bambu Bus Cable - 4Pin and the PTFE Tubes and couplers)

I assume (hope) these are coming in yet another future shipment?

Is this the same for others who have ordered and received so far?

    • My experience:

I received 3 boxes: printer; AMS 2; and a box of the AMS 2 accessories + gift pack. The printer arrived 2 hours after the other two boxes.

      • Thanks - did the AMS 2 accessories + gift pack arrive as a separate third delivery or in the delivery with the AMS 2? (e.g. did you have Packages #1, #2 and #3 listed under your order on the Bambu website)

        • +1

Both. I got the AMS2 accessories and gift pack in the same box and it arrived at the same time as the AMS2. I also have #1, #2, and #3 packages for tracking on the site.

          • @2-1: Ah good to know thanks - as I don't have Package #3 showing I assume (hope) it will eventually get sent later (fingers crossed)

    • Looks like shipping times have blown out a little for P1S….

AMS 2 Pro Combo / Combo with Hub(Ship Separately) will be shipped around ETD: ship around Jul.12, 2025

      • +1

        Same dates for me.
I'd say they've depleted their local warehouse stock and now that is their next shipment coming in from China.

  • Pretty shocked at the quick deliveries, my tracking numbers aren't showing anything

  • I asked Amazon Customer Service if the deal will become available on platform or if it'll be included in Prime Day. They said they don't have visibility on either.

Bought direct, can't be bothered waiting any more even if it's for the $100-off ABN deal. I'll turn in my ozbargain card shortly.

    • +1

Your not losing the $100 ABN deal, just means you need to buy something else

      • I like the way snrub thinks!

  • +2

Got an X1C with AMS for work at the Kickstarter stage. The ability to quickly produce high quality prints is something that is unbeatable for prototyping.
Was going to get my own X1C but that P1S with AMS 2 Pro is too good of a deal. Plus PEI build plate, 4x hardened steel nozzles/complete hotends, 10x filament, some other spares all for $1,600 AUD delivered is crazy good value.
    Thanks @impoze for the deal.

  • Isn't Anycubic Kobra S1 combo ~$810 a better value than P1S combo? Print quality seems more or less the same as per the reviews.

    • +1

Anycubic Kobra S1 Combo is $764.15 currently with 'JUNEOFY15' eBay Plus members.

      Otherwise $809.10 with 'JUNEOFY10' for non-members

I would be inclined to go P1S + AMS 1 for $999 with the Bambu Lab anniversary sale though.

Like most things price is not the only factor in delivering value.

The kobra 3 v2 8 color Kit is currently the best value as it's 2x ACE pro and printer until they fix the pricing.

      • Thanks.
Can you please elaborate why you'd go for the P1S + AMS over the Kobra counterpart?

        • +2

          P1S is tried and tested.

At the normal price you may be swayed by the larger price difference but at the sale price, the $200 difference is well worth it.

  • Looking to buy the P1S AMS 1 combo. Any other items/upgrades that significantly improve the printer like nozzle etc? Rather buy together now while it's on sale.

    • They sell the upgrade kit. Hardened steel nozzle/hot end and upgraded drive gear assembly. They're selling it as a discounted bundle currently.

  • +6

Bought the P1S Combo, and got a $75 off AMS2 Pro voucher 'as a P1 owner'. Kinda negates the bundle price, but if anyone was considering the code is: AMS2COUPON

  • +2

I grabbed the A1 Combo for $650 from 3D Central at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre. They're an authorised Bambu Lab reseller and are price matching this deal on some printers. No gifts, but I didn’t have to pay for shipping and got it straight away. Their warehouse is in Archerfield. Great option if you want to buy locally and avoid delivery times.

    • nice, you might find the makerlab gift is already in the box

      • Thanks, finally opened the package. There was something like a piano kit in the package. I don't really know what that's about but thought that could be the gift.

    • I just bought some of their own In-house filament. Was $17 for 1kg of their PLA and PETG which I thought was quite cheap. Will see if it prints well but I'm a boob so wouldn't know what's good and what's not.

      • -1

        boob?

        • Lol noob. Sorry typo.

      • Bought some PLA for $17 and used them a bit today. Since this is my first 3d printer I can't say if it's good or bad yet.

    • Wow didn’t know they existed, thanks for this!!

  • +2

Anyone else get a toll ipec tracking number and it says not found both on Bambu and team global express? I got my tracking number Wed morning but still says unknown. Sydney if that makes a difference.

    • I got an Auspost tracking number on Monday that was invalid. Then on Wednesday I got a working tracking number from TeamGE (item in Sydney), with it scheduled to arrive today to Melbourne.

    • Same, but I only bought last night so I expected to take a couple of days to become active. Just like an AusPost parcel.

  • Got my P1s yesterday, works great. AMS Pro 2 arrived today via Auspost. Kinda bummed that I cant use it as it seems the Hub and accessories for it is being shipped separately and tracking says itll probably arrive on Monday.

  • Is P1S likely to be restocked before sale ends?

    • +1

With the AMS 2 it's saying they will ship around 12th July. Stand alone, 5th July. Can be pre ordered at the sale price though

      • Thank you. That is awesome.

  • Are the freebie gifts still part of the promotion? Added the p1s combo and didn't see the freebies

    • I think it's sold out

It's ust the various Maker lab things

  • For a first time beginner for P1S combo - any tips on what other accessories to add in the cart and what type of filaments to add as well?

    • +1

Read through the comments, been answered a few times

  • Thanks OP, I'd been watching for this sale.

Ended up with a A1 combo, some filament, and a few bits and pieces (spare hotend, spare socks, etc.)

This is my first 3D printer. After looking at a lot of reviews it seemed the A1 was best for me. I was originally planning a P1S, but I decided on the A1 due to noise as I'll have it in my study. Also while I think I'll get enough out of it, I didn't want to over-invest if I don't enjoy the hobby and want to sell it after a year or whatever.

I "won" a $50 coupon during Bambu's recent draw, but otherwise it's easy to get a $15 coupon through signing up to the mailing list. $15 isn't much, but every bit helps.

    • +1

I think you made the right choice for a first timer. Keep in mind that 3D printing is relatively fast evolving tech and there will continue to be newer and more cost-effective machines yet to be released. There could be printers to upgrade to down the road that is better or offer more value than the P1S by the time you have outgrown the A1 mini combo.

      • Thanks,

For clarity I went for the A1 combo rather than the A1 mini.

There didn't seem much reason to go for the mini over the standard, except to save the $100. I was happy to spend the extra for the larger build plate.

    • Great option for a first timer, it's all down hill from here! You'll be wanting an X1C before you know it haha

      • +1

Why stop at X1C, need the H2D for some dual nozzle action

  • Dunno what’s going on with my x1c, I got a toll ipec tracking on Wed, but tracking not found. In Sydney metro too. Asked Bambu on live chat the other day they said it’s correct and shipped but nothing.

    • After Bambu has shipped it, it is out of their hand. You will probably need to contact Toll Ipec tomorrow for more info.

    • That happened with my A1 early this year. Bambu gave me tracking number, nothing on the carrier website. My printer turned up in the delivery window.

  • -1

P1s is almost 2 years old wouldn't it be better to wait. Technology has moved so much in the 3d print space surely the successor to p1s would be a much better unit? Just thinking that i could have had the same experience 2 years ago and only cost me extra $230 this doesnt seem a good deal being 2 years old.

    • You have a good point here. This tech moves so fast and will only get better

    • +1

The competitors have only just caught up to the P1S, it was that far ahead.

The H2D would be the successor in terms of a technological standfront but it's the new flagship so still some time until it trickles down.

      Improvements would come:

      • multiple toolheads/nozzles - Bambu H2D, Prusa XL, Voron, toolchangers.
      • bigger bed size - Creality K2 Plus, Bambu H2D
    • Your point is offset by the current sale price. It's also perspective right, 2 years ago I was thinking the same - but more so that competition would drive prices down. Well prices are down now - if I wait another 2 years for a P1S successor I would be delaying 4 years of my life to scratch a hobbyist itch over a couple of hundred bucks. Be careful not to take time for granted - you can't buy that back.

      • I would be spewing if a p1s successor comes by end of year and it cost only $300 more then this price. But then again it might cost $600 more then this $1000 p1s combo so then id be ok with the p1s purchase.

        • +1

if anything, it would be $300 on top of the non-sale price.

The rumored H1D is probably more than the X1C

          • @3dprintdeals: Which means $550. And thats too much more then im willing to pay. $1000 is stretching it so might just go with this p1s combo.

            • +1

              @Jklaro: yes, P1S 1 combo is a great buy

              • @3dprintdeals: I just realised p1s combo is actually $1650 full price. Sale price is $1300 so this is actually $650 off retail.

                • +1

@Jklaro: The AMS is basically not affecting the sale price at all. All of the discount is hitting the P1S only.

If you check the FAQ, https://au.store.bambulab.com/policy/pages/3rd-year-annivers…, all of the P1S price drops (with and without combo) are around $250.

So the old $900 price is probably the new base price after the sale (is anyway - like Kathmandu, you wait for a "sale" to buy). The $230 off that is an excellent discount on the printer even if they are clearing stock. It's bloody unlikely that any P1S replacement is going to come in at $1000 or less. Even if it did, you could still probably dump your current P1S at $400-500 and take a pretty small hit on the changeover.

I dithered for ages on my decision because I knew the deal was good, but couldn't decide what filament and hotends I wanted with it.

Also, I've been watching for 9 months or so, and BL does not discount the AMS systems at all! (alright, so they've done the AMS lite this time and $20 of the AMS1, but it's not much if you are not doing the lite).

                  • @EthicsGradient: Do you think its only good to go no ams or only ams 2 and the ams 1 isnt that good. Im not super keen on multi coloured printing but i heard ams is good for same colour so it doesnt run out.

                    • @Jklaro: That's very much up to you! I went the AMS2 because I'm in Tas with high humidity in the area I'm going to keep the printer - so I knew I'd need a drier. I figured that the AMS 2 provides drier, dry box and automatic changeover for the price 2-3 stand alone dryers, and is integrated into the printer, so a bit of a no brainer for me.

If I didn't have the humidity, I would have looked at both stand alone and AMS1 systems much more seriously.

                    • +1

@Jklaro: The AMS2 is quite expensive, and there are cheaper ways to dry filament for the times when you need it e.g. PETG/TPU.

Aside from the ability to print multicolour, AMS also lets you print different filament combinations e.g. PLA with PETG support or vice versa. The results are very clean.

And then there are the quality of life improvements, filament ready to go, auto backup, and so on.

                      • @3dprintdeals: They want to charge $270 more for ams 2 compared to ams 1 but if you buy them after the fact the are only $100 difference in price now that ams1 is $469 sale.

You could buy the p1s for $669 then is you wanted ams 2 later it be $1240 cheaper then the ams2 combo. Looks like The ams 1 at $1000 is best value on this deal cos they wanting $270 more when should only be $100 more.

                        • +3

@Jklaro: I think I misunderstood your post. BL wants to sell the P1S (big discount) and probably clear stock of the AMS1 (smalller discount). Doing the math:

                          P1S now $669.(Great deal!)
Adding AMS1 now: +$330 (great deal)
Adding AMS2 now: +$570 (great deal if you are happy with an expensive dryer and want the QoL that comes with AMS2, not so great otherwise)
Adding AMS1 later: +$535+$37 shipping - $240 more expensive than buy now.
Adding AMS2 later: +$569+80+37 - $116 more than buy now, guessing $80 for the bits needed for the P1S upgrade.

My atttitude to this sale was I got the AMS2 combo with the discount for the P1S only, and that worked for my case. If money's tight, then this is not a good option.

At the end of the day, you are going pay more for buying any AMS later, and you are going to pay more for the AMS2 no matter what (it's the new product, so no surprise there!).

                          • @EthicsGradient: Just doing some more research looks like filament drying is good for all types of filament.
                            Better results.
Looks like ams 2 with drying is a must for quality prints and not to fail.

                            • @Jklaro: All filament will benefit from drying but some are essential to be dried like TPU, nylon.

For PLA it's not really necessary.
