I've had my eye on this for awhile. price was around $65, but now $48.30. before lightning deal I saw it was sold by Amazon AU (not Probuy or whatever it says when you scroll down).

4x 10A 2400W outlets doesn't sound right I thought 2400W was the maximum from a single wall plug. so it's probably TOTAL 4x output 2400W.
it also claims 2400 Joules. they really stuffed up the descriptions it's confusing.

there are a few other cheaper models as well, but I thought this one that clamps would be the most useful ymmv.
I would have it clamped to the front edge of the desk so it's not as visible as on the side, and plug things to charge, or vacuum cleaner etc.
2x USB C = 5V/3A,9V/2.22A,12V/1.67A (18W max)
2x USB A = 5V/3A,9V/2A,12V/1.5A (15W max)

tbh don't expect it to be actual philips, they were bought by some other company, I had a feeling this happened and someone posted about Beyerdynamic and I realised it was right.

but tbh the new product I was seeing branded philips in Japan (which philips never released before) was identical to a Baseus product. so I would expect Baseus quality. not great but not absolutely terrible.

I like the form factor. I was about to buy it now… If it's not philips then meh.

If it's not philips then meh.

yeah I agree. but that's why I pointed out it may not be genuine philips design.

tbh it looks very good from what you can see. hard PC plastic, simple and useful design. but I have a feeling it's a rebadged product since a big company purchased the right to the logo.

    • Ordered anyway

  • There is an extra discount that brings it down to $33.81

    • thanks I'm gonna buy then.

can't see but maybe need to login.

      • Actually it might be the Amazon business 1st use discount - 30%

        • yeah no discount for me.

I was going to ask if you are on prime, but looks like you need business acc. I don have any abn.

    • What did I miss??

  • I doesnt look like marketing material Philips would make.

    • yeah I agree.

1.2m cord also on the short side. probably need to use extension cord laying around to reach the desk.

also USB ports are just a nice to see, but useless in the end. someone told me to never buy power boards with USB ports for that feature, they all end up stopping working eventually. buy a USB charger instead for that purpose.

  • before lightning deal I saw it was sold by Amazon AU (not Probuy or whatever it says when you scroll down).

FYI this is not sold by Amazon, it's sold by Probuy-au, you can verify this at the checkout page:

"Ships from Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd
    Sold by Probuy-au"

Personally I think this is overpriced for what it is, but I guess it might be useful for some people's specific niche scenarios. I'd rather just buy a proper surge protector powerboard + under desk tray organiser.

    • ok mb. I swear I saw it shipped and sold by Amazon when it was $65.

  • β€œ+ delivery (Free with” free with what dammit

    • sorry it wouldn't fit. only mods can extend the text limit I think.

Bunnings used to sell these years ago under their Click brand and still using it.

    • oh now we know. πŸ˜‚

      thanks.

how much was the click do you remember?

      • +1

Can't remember but I feel it was cheaper. Here's the certification details for those curious.

        • still using it is good enough for me. just wish it was a bit cheaper.

was $65 ish so, expected price drop would be like $36.

have a feeling Prime day is not going to be the low prices expected again.

    • Yeah I got one from Bunnings in the clearance section back in the day for $20. Was great, but recently it stopped working properly. Intermittent power loss on the unit :(

  • A normal power board and couple of cable ties will do the same !

    • tbh plugging the vacuum in from the side as it sits at the front edge of desk at waist height seems really convenient to me.

none of this "making sure it's facing you, making sure your holding from the back as you push" etc.

mostly everyone with a desk setup will have a powerboard in a tray towards the back of their desk. πŸ’β€β™€οΈ

    • True. I have a powerboard hidden under my table.

However not the easiest way to plug or unplug.

I like the design of this tho.

  • Great design. I like it.

yuh thanks that's why I posted it.

just been on my recently viewed for a long time, keep looking at it.

don't need it, don't need it. but if cheap enough will buy.

      • I just bought a new board today, and have spent the last 20 minutes connecting it to my stand-up desk…..then I saw this.
Very tempted though. Thanks for posting.

it's ok. lightning coupons all gone.

so i'm hoping to see a lower price on Prime day. July 8 sorry.

  • expired but I'm seeing 96% claimed?

well maybe it's 100% in a few seconds. nope still seeing 96.

    OK lightning all gone.

    • It said all coupons are now claimed. Now it's back at 98% claimed.

Something in a similar 'theme' but more permanent is this Ikea power board which comes with 45W PD USB-C x 2 ports for just $30. Though it only supplies 45W if you use one port (22.5W split), it can power a laptop.

    • thank you I saw that as well but didn't add to my recent C&C order. it was wasn't going to be as useful as I first thought it was.

the philips is totally an ikea type product.

these were at bunnings under the click / arlec brand for $5-$10 a few years ago

With the 2400 joules of protection, this is worth it. Try find others with surge protection that high. Most other brands including Belkin offer below 1000 joules.

Most of the Philips products nowadays are OEM.
Philips now focuses on medical and toothbrush products, most of others are TM licensed models.

  • Wow, never seen a design like this before. G
    Neat form factor

  • I like the idea but my girth would be too thick for this.
