EOFY25

It's been a while since the last deal, but I was after a discount on one of the front windscreen shields and chat told me they are running a coupon 'EOFY25' to match RubberTree's 20% off for EOFY sales.

I assume it expires 1st July and I tested it as working on cart even though it's not yet on the website. Enjoy!

Just my experience, the mrs purchased one for the Model Y for $160, I returned it and got a $20 pack of 2 window socks from Super cheap. Small medium or large. Works great, yeah it’s not as “fancy” looking but I can’t fault it for the price.

Yep they’re definitely premium. I wanted something more than the twist plastic ones as there’s so many electronics including the HUD in my car that I wanted something to block temperature too.

Fair enough, if you got a lot of expensive electronics, pay the extra.

I am very happy with these just for protecting kids in the rear seat. Comes in 3 sizes and 2 variants. Square window and curved windows.

As in the product photo, it doesn’t fit perfectly on the frameless windows on the Model Y but it absolutely does the job.
FYI I got the small curved for the MY if anyone wants to know.

        • Why don't you just tint your ride?

          • @Lord Ra: It is tinted but direct sun for extended periods of time on a child, tint isn’t enough.

    • any particular reason you returned it, other than price?

90% price, 10% I didn't like how it uses these 3M sticky pads to anchor the top of the door trim. I felt overtime, it could potentially cause colour differences or damage, nothing to back that up, just my opinion.
The window sock has sticky pads on each side, but they are long enough to glue inside the door jam not on the interior plastic.
$22 vs 159 was the biggest motivator.

Does anyone else feel these guys are hideously over-priced?

As far as I can see, 20% off on SnapShades brings them down from ludicrous prices to merely quite expensive. I don't mind buying quality, but I fail to see where the value is in these products.

You can get cheaper options off AliExpress that work quite well. You just have to find the right product with good fitment and magnets for the side windows.

      • Care to share an example?

        • Just search for your Car name and side window shades. Look for the ones with custom shapes and they'll match your car. Generally a little more expensive than the generic ones.

    • At least we know they’re not wasting that money on fancy adverts…

  • Would I buy it even with 20% discount? Probably not.

Would I buy it secondhand off Facebook Marketplace for ~$50? Definitely.

I've had Snapshades before and can agree they are very good. For my new are I bought X-Car equivalent (~$50) and am happy with those, but looks like they no longer stock them which is unfortunate.

Their products are great but price is a bit too high.

over priced and the most annoying ads, don't know why i'm always seeing them!

    • I don’t mind the ad, at least the one I’ve seen which is with the rabbit. Reminds of the cheesy local ads I’d see when I was a kid in a small country town.

Does anyone know of another brand that makes similar thickness and quality windscreen shades?

I’m impressed with a friend’s compared to the usual junk available off the shelf, but not $120 impressed…

Get on aliexpress, snapshades is just a whitelabel of the same crap

    • Have a link? I've been looking but can't find anything matching.

    • +2

Just a heads up for anyone comparing — we don’t white label.
All our Snap Shades are individually sized and tested on each car model (with photos to prove it). You might get caught out with incorrect sizing from generic or white-labelled shades. Always check if the seller shows real fitment photos per model — otherwise, it could be a gamble.

      • Nope. Never had that problem on Aliexpress

      • While that's fair — it might be worth taking the feedback that your products are too expensive and would have a larger market at ~$100. While fitment is a thing, it's not worth an additional $100 over other offerings for more or less the same product.

These aren't air-tight products. $150 for some side window screening seems excessive and I can get overseas made for $40 even though I want to support local. Also the NDIS branding on your website feels like a cash grab.

  • I got some alternative brand off eBay for my rav 4.works just as well

  • The same deal was advertised at the Brisbane PBC Expo last weekend.

I have bought second-hand versions of these from FB Marketplace for my cars and they are great. Price for brand new is overpriced though.

  • Still overpriced, Car Shade Co (link) is better value; esp for front windscreen protector.

    • Looking at their range it looks like AliExpress grey shipping? All the thumbnails match.

  • Paying over 100 bucks for a shade seems dodgy.
