They are brushed. I've got a number of their power tools and they are fit for purpose for occasional use DIY projects. Make sure you buy their combo kits to get the battery included. I also have a number of their garden tools that works surprising well. The turbo blower is powerful and last a fair while on 2 4ah batteries.

I would look at Ozito or Ryobi for easier returns/warranty and a wider range of skins to expand to in the future.
This Ryobi kit is a good option for example. So is this Ozito.
Even better value is this one, but it's more or less sold out everywhere and only has a 10mm chuck.
I would even consider the Kincrome Brushless 2 piece kit at SCA. You get much better tools (both brushless), a lifetime warranty and easy enough returns (SCA has plenty of stores), and a free 4Ah battery.

Are these the same as the Black and Decker tools? I have a few of them and wouldn't mind buying some of these
The battery is not compatible with Black and Decker.
Believe its compatible with Ozito, may even be the same just rebranded.
Katana battery and Ozito battery are not compatible. Katana has 4 slots but Ozito has 5 along with other differences.
A few of their garden tools such as the high priced trimmer and mower are meant to be brush less.
Quick review of the whippa snippa / brush cutter.
1: Have to wear gloves, the plastic trigger is crap, without gloves skin gets caught in-between the trigger and the handle.
2: Mislead information regarding the brush cutter blade, greater than any two stroke chainsaw or other vibrating power tool I have ever used. Vibration level is insane.
Finally sorted out the brush cutter blade problem.
The standard components, the brush blade cutter after 4-5 minutes will leave your hands/arms/body in shock due to excess vibration. Wishing you never purchase it.
Test with standard components, no load free. Power on, whippa snippa head okay. Nylon cord mild-average.
Put on Katana brush cutter head and components. No load free in the air, power on, brush cutter vibration levels too high. Blood shuttering inside my veins levels.
The standard components are pushing into the head. Err they must be secured, yet take it apart and you can see the part hitting the casing. VIBRATIONS.

Riding my motorbike on QLD roads is rough enough and I describe it as a chainsaw.
Replaced the head components. Solution now it cuts like a brush cutter, powerful enough, quiet motor. Except the usual noises of sticks, woody grass and weeds been cut, canna lillies slashed like tearing through fibers. Because you are swinging spinning a cutting blade through that crap.
Are the tools brushless?
Prices look pretty good for DIY grade tools.
