  • Thanks OP, good find!

  • Just bought and installed this today after getting it from JB for 293

  • Should have waited, got one recently paid 30-40 more than current price but agree with OP, these are good and a ripper at this price.

Shipping and comms with these guys were also solid, tempted to get a 2nd one.

    • I'm considering getting a third one 😬

  • Worth the upgrade from the floodlight cam e 2k?

    • Can't comment on that but I replaced 2x "dumb" sensor lights with these and they're working a treat.

Considering a third to replace another 🤔

      • btw any recommendation for dumb sensor lights? I have one location where camera would be overkill

        • +2

SAL is probably better than anything you can find at Bunnings.

  • Yep have bought 2 of these from Goodbuyz at around the $280 something mark. Haven't missed a beat. Shared this with my family… a steal at this price, thanks OP!

  • Got one, works well. Has stopped kids trying the car handle at night. Lights are pretty bright and extensive. Senses and rotates well 180 across the front of my place.
If you're half handy, you can install by yourself by cutting the plug off an extension lead, wiring into the unit and plugging into a GPO somewhere after its all installed. Mines into a GPO in the roof space. Btw downlights won't power it, so need a proper power point, if you're gonna have a go at it.

    • -1

Please link the tools for cutting the plug off and stripping the wire insulation from the copper wires?

  • This doesn't need a Homebase, does it?

    • +1

only if you want to save footage

      • Only Homebase 3?

      • If you don’t have homebase, can you view the footage via the app?

    • +2

I don't have a Homebase but purchased a 128gb microsd for $20 and that gives me a few weeks of footage i can go back to.
Have been considering Homebase for the other smarts but not sure if its worth it.

      • What they said. It’s been perfect just to use the SD card. The only negative I have found is it filled up completely the other day and it wouldn’t write over the old content.

        • Interesting, haven't had any issues with either camera. Im using Samsung EVO Plus cards.

    • +1

Doesn't need a homebase, just put a big SD card in it. If there's anything you really want to save, you can download the video from the app to your phone and do what you want with it from there.

  • Can you change the angle of the lights? Thinking of putting it high up just below the gutter which is 4-5m above the ground.

Edit: just looked through the manual and confirm that it can be done but it recommends installation at 2.4m above the ground level.

    • It has a adaptable connector that can be connected to the roof or the wall just in case you wanted to know.

    • I’ve got mine 3.5m above ground and it’s fine.

  • +1

    Nice one OP.
The Homebase 3 is probably worth posting as well, $223.97 after the discount code. I threw one in the cart to upgrade my old Homebase.

    • Even cheaper for refurbished one. $159 after code.

  • This requires installation and is not rental friendly right? :(

    • This needs to be hard wired, yes.

They also have the S340 which is solar/battery powered.

    • No. Can be installed easily with an extension cable. If you move, pull plug, take off camera from wall, put somewhere else. Simple.

  • Thanks OP, have been waiting for this to drop :)

  • Got 3 of these around the house and 2 for mum’s house.

    10/10.

  • Can the flood light be triggered by the eufy motion sensor?

    • +2

Im interested in this, i tried the automation to have another eufy cam trigger the floodlight but it cant be done.

    • +1

just had a look in the eufy app automation tab for ya and nope - just camera on/off, recording and alarm. The PIR for the flood light on it is pretty decent though, if put in a good spot.

      • Yeah it's decent, a little too decent if you put it on fast. I wanted the camera at the top of the stairs to activate the floodlight at bottom of the stairs. Shame it can't be done, I'll work out something else.

  • If the house is provisioned with CAT6 cables, can these be used? I.e. will the floodlights function without a standalone plugpoint? Can someone please advise? Looks like a good price. Thank you.

    • +1

These just need to be connected to power by electrician.
It uses wifi to storage footage, no need for cat 6 cables

      • Wifi for storage if you have a Homebase 3, otherwise it's on the SD card.

    • +1

There's no Ethernet connector on the device if that's what you are asking, you need to connect to your WiFi on 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz (both are supported) - I have it configured that way with my Homebase 3 connected via Ethernet to the router, everything works perfectly, very happy customer :)

  • Damn I paid $348 recently (HN giftcard from instore purchase so no biggie), am super happy with it. This is a terrific deal.

  • Does this need to be connected to wifi all the time to record? I have a eufy indoor pan & tilt and if wifi is off, it stops recording to the micro sd and sometimes changes the default camera position.

    • It has an SD card slot so I don't think it does. I have Homebase 2 so it uses the SD card for storage but I can still view / manipulate it via the app like my other Eufy wifi cameras.

      • My indoor eufy has a msd but needs to be connected to record so the SD card doesnt mean it keeps recording. Curious to hear from anyone that has tested it, without homebase, so i know if its just the indoor came that needs wifi or if other eufy cams stop recording as well.

      • does it work at all with homebase 2? I have some cameras connected to homebase 2 and cant justify updating to 3.

        • It won't record to HB3, no.

    • I just experimented with my Eufy Wall Light Camera, I temporarily blocked the camera from my wifi and went out to to trigger motion detection/recording, and it did. I have it set so that it gets slightly brighter when it detects motion.

What is disappointing is that once I reconnected the camera to the wifi, my phone/app did not get a notification alert that motion detection was triggered. Also disappointing is that the app didn't alert me that the camera lost wifi connection. I can access the footage that was saved on the SD card. All settings AFAIK was retained.

I have the eufy E340 Floodlight but it's still sitting in the box. I'll try it this weekend once installed.

I also have the homebase 3.

      • btw do you recommend that camera? Very curious to know how it compares to E340

        • +1

I went with the Eufy S100 wall light camera mainly because of how it looks. It sits next to my front door and looks great. It doesn’t scream “security camera” like the E340 floodlight does.

Camera quality on the S100 is great. But if I’m being honest, I don’t think it’s quite as functional or powerful as the E340. Dual lenses, pan tilt zoom offers more coverage. It’s suited for larger or more exposed areas.

      • Thanks. My video cuts out after about 2 hours without wifi and doesnt come back until wifi is back on.

  • ok, i paid 340 for it.

  • Thanks OP. Was going to get 2 from JB Hifi this weekend, your post saved me some coin.

    • +1

Is this not Price Matchable by JB?

      • Unsure, didn't bother trying.

        Good idea though.

      • +1

Buy from JB and have it installed, also buy this one and then return the one to JB and essentially you get a Price match, just in a roundabout way.

        • Yep that is definitely the discreet way to achieve the same result price-wise. But for any tech devices I usually prefer buying it from a brick&mortar place for better and easier warranty purposes.

          • @noelhoi: So do i but I paid $379 only a month ago so a saving of over $150 is too much to pass by

  • 2.2m high too low to install these?

    • +1

Mines at 2.4m and its a little low but still covers my front yard fine.

      • Thx! So probably a bit low then. Is yours mounted at 2.4 so the bottom of the camera sits even lower?

        • Camera sits around the 2.2m mark. Does a good job of getting my entire front driveway, just can't pan higher if you want to look at the sky.

    • +1

depends on area you want to cover. mine is at about 2m in my carport and does alright…. picks up motion at about 8-10m

      • Perfect! That's one of the places I was looking 2 install.

      • Curious, did you install inside the carport on far wall (monitoring cars) or at the front above/beside entry (monitoring driveway)?

        • Yeah inside to monitor cars but it picks up some of my driveway too

  • Just came here to say - this is an awesome outdoor camera! Works well with Homebase 3.

  • This is an awesome camera but need to be careful with this site, some of their items are used

  • Hi guys, I have some question which I hope people can assist with.
    - Is it a sensor floodlight i.e. activity triggers light to turn on?
    - Can you adjust sensor zone i.e. can you highlight/select an area where activity detected triggers light to turn on?
    - What happens when the SD card gets full? Does it just keep rolling and recording e.g. does it just keep the last 5 days of video on roll?
    - Is video saved on the SD card able to be viewed on the mobile app, or do you need to remove the SD card from the device and then view it on some other device?

Also I want to get a floodlight camera, but also a video doorbell of the same brand. How are the eufy doorbells?

    TIA

      • yes
      • i think the zone selection area only relates to triggering recording (and often still triggers even if outside a zone), and not the light trigger.
      • overwrites old footage
      • viewable on app

in my experience with the first gen wireless doorbell, detection is probs 80% reliable - missed detections definitely happen. newer versions have dual motion detection (PIR + radar) so could be improved. otherwise generally good - just dont try to talk to someone through one, they're usually gone by time you get alerted, connect through the app, say your bit and then allow for lag…..

  • Are these better than these ones?

eufy Security E340 Floodlight Camera $299
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/910558

I've bought them but haven't installed as yet.

    • It's the same thing.

See if jb hifi will refund the difference.

      • Does JB do that? I also bought it from JB (for $289)

        • I've never tested it personally, but have seen it mentioned as a possibility here on Ozbargain from time to time.

Not that it counts for much, but this post on Reddit seems to suggest that JB Hifi may do it, although it may be store dependent?

Out of stock here now though, so unlikely imo.

  • These are great and have 2 of these monitoring the front of my house, havent skipped a beat.

  • Just note no RTSP on these so no luck if you want to integrate with a private NVR

    • It definitely has RTSP.

You set it up in the Storage section, under the General menu.

  • Thanks, Op. When I go to the deal, the price is showing as $299? Has the price gone up now?

    • $298 actually…
Add to cart, checkout, apply code "CART20".
      Price now $238.40.

  • Thanks OP, got my delivery notification. Plus a battery backup for my existing Homebase 2 for $40 refurbed, didn't know that was a thing but desperately needed one

    • Is that this? https://goodbuyz.com.au/products/eufy-security-backup-batter…

I remember I was looking at it years ago but forgot about it. I do need one

      • +1

Yep! I looked into the Homebase 3 last night and would've upgraded if that had a battery but nope, refurb battery will do. You'd think it would be a pretty standard thing for wireless camera hubs

  • Home assistant compatible?
    Subscription/ cloud required?

  • Great deal, have been eyeing this for a while and finally at a good price point to pull the trigger. It'll be my first eufy device. I currently have Tapo inside the house and 1st gen Google doorbell I'm looking to replace soon too (probably with Reolink wired doorbell).

Is it worth getting the Homebase 3? I'm not sure yet if I want to go with Eufy for my ecosystem as I feel like Reolink is better (but they didn't really have anything this good for floodlight).

    • Get the HB3 if you want 24/7 recording, otherwise I wouldn't unless you going balls deep in eufy

      • 24/7 could still work using 128gb microsd?

        • Honestly im not sure, ive only ever used hb3

        • It may need to be connected to wifi to record 24/7, even with mSD card. My indoor eufy cam has mSD but stops recording video after sblut 2 hours without wifi. I dont have homebase.
