  • Can anyone chime on in whether these are worth it? I've tried them once for five minutes but wasn't enough time to tell if it's worth it. I would use them for the office and maybe the gym instead of my Airpods Pro G2.

    • I was tempted by these, but decided to get the Beats Studio Pro instead for half the price. While I can’t talk to the quality of the AirPods Max, I can say that I’m very happy with the Beat Studio Pro for its price point. The only significant feature that’s missing is the H2 chip for seamless swapping between devices. But I rarely do that with my AirPods Pro as it is.

      • How’d they go with the sort of seamless Apple stuff you get with AirPods? I’m pretty locked into the Apple echo system at home and work and I’m trying to decide if I get these or the beats.

I wouldn't impulse buy them. Get them from apple at full price or officeworks because of the more generous returns policy. Then return if bad.

For gym, I wouldn't recommend. Use your pro 2s.

I bought some yesterday from OW pricematching digidirect.
      On the fence about them.

      • Free returns with eBay plus, just take care of them & the packaging so they can be resold.

        • Nahhh much easier with Apple

    • Basically if you like AirPods integration with iOS/macOS they sound good enough that they are worthwhile (not best in class but they sound good).

Their spatial sound is well reviewed but I think it is a gimmick and I can’t wait for it to go away.

They are also very heavy and I hate the look of them, but that is up to personal taste; perhaps you like the look of them.

I used AirPods Pro 2s since launch and two weeks ago bought the AirPods Max’s. I really like the audio quality on the Max’s, and not having in-ears is refreshing at times. I still use the Pro 2s when I leave the house (easier to put them in the pocket). And the Max’s do bother me if I wear my glasses (just for late night computer use). But otherwise I find myself reaching for the Max’s more than I thought.

They are certainly a splurge purchase, considering you have Pro 2s already. But if you have the cash and like good audio quality, and have lots of Apple devices, then I’d say you’ll enjoy them.

Plus, this is a good price for the Max’s. I paid $719. Happy to answer any question for you, too.

      • Thanks mate. I think i'll hold off. Sounds like they're good, but I don't think I really need them.

I found it too heavy, short term office use is fine but flying and working out seems not suitable. It’s more of a “fashion” piece.

    • Can anyone chime on in whether these are worth it?

apparently (I don't have it) it's the best sounding ANC headphone right out of the box. well it has to be because theres no EQ.

other than that. most feedback says, the ANC is great but the cabin pressure feeling is quite high. if you are sensitive to that it's not possible to use ANC for long periods because of the feeling of pressure on your eardrums. it also has the most natural sounding mic for calls and ambient mode (feels like you are just hearing with the headphones off).

downsides are they are quite heavy, to the point of feeling the weight on your head. the earpads are mesh so they also don't grip very well.

the biggest positive for apple users is it smartly seamlessly switches between iPad, iPhone, Mac, Apple TV. if you are a big apple user then it's a solid 4.5/5 product. -0.5 because of the weight and ANC comfort for some. oh they also don't fold, and only "go to sleep/power off" if you put them in their bra case.

I didn’t like mine. Found them too heavy to wear too long. Went back to bose qc. Much nicer to wear and so much cheaper.

+1 Same, went back to bose due to the weight.
