    That's a good omen

  • +1

I bought a couple in the last deal. I think they are really good for the price

  • -1

Looks to be 1440p for anyone wondering

    • +8

That is indeed what QHD means. Probably the sweet spot for gaming on non-absurdly priced video cards at the moment, although I am finding a 9070XT does pretty well at 4k.

      • -4

Ur using a 9070xt, a 1100 graphics card. That absurdly priced lmao. Not even a high end card.

        • +5

Yeah look, they're all absolutely ridiculous. But above the 9070xt it literally jumps up to like $3000 for any meaningful improvement. So I guess yes, it's still absurdly priced but it's at the price point that a high end card should (?) be at, anything above that I treat as more or less not existing. I realise I'm very lucky to be able to get even what I have.

          • -5

@caitsith01: I'm gonna wait for supply to meet demand personally. It hopefully will happen eventually and soon.

But that's the problem. Even the 5080, a 2k card is only HALF of a 5090, in terms of CUDA cores. Realisitcally, the 5080, should be a 5060 ti. These new graphics cards are bigger scams, than Hunter Biden's laptop.

And a 9070xt is maybe 2/3 a 5080, so congrats, you paid 1.1k, for not even a THIRD of the most powerful consumer GPU out there.

            • @John Barosa: When did the gpus go shit? I have a 2080, and i feel its doing me fine on my current 1440p monitor. Have i missed much with the 30 , 40 or 50 series

            • +1

@John Barosa: Not sure where you're pulling your numbers from. A 9070xt is between 57% (at 4k) and 81% (at 1080) of the raster performance of a 5090, so vastly better in terms of $ per fps.

Your 5080 number is also completely made up, at 1080p the 9070xt is around 5% slower and at 4k ultra it's around 15% slower than a 5080, yet it's $1100-1400 compared to $2200-2800 for a 5080:

              https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

Anyway, was trying to agree but apparently you just want to argue. I have zero regrets about the 9070xt, especially with FSR4 becoming more available. Happily playing Control and Cyberpunk in 4k with ray tracing turned on without spending $4k for the privilege.

              • +1

@caitsith01: He;s on a 3060 Laptop bro, lol. Just don't be bother about it. Btw, do you happen to hear any coil whines from your 9070XT ? Im hearing a lot from my Red Devil though…

                • +1

@bebi1506: No, thankfully - mine's a Powercolor too (forget which one - I think the most $$ one, whichever that is) and happily no coil whine at all. In fact it's crazy how silent it is even under full load. Sorry to hear you're getting a lot - to me that would be an RMA level issue.

              • -2

@caitsith01: I'm talking about CUDA cores. 5090 has half the cores of the 5080

May be worth it for you. BUt I'm personally not paying $1100, for a gimped midrange product. Ridiculous.

Would this be good for programming/office use?

    • +10

Refresh rate not fast enough for programming

      • -1

If ur joking u got me.

But 60hz is enough for coding.

      • What about Excel?

        • +1

          Only when excel esporting

    • +3

Personally if not gaming I would try to get a 4k monitor at this size, there is a noticeable difference particularly in text sharpness etc.

      • +2

Agreed. I'm on 27 rn. I had a 32 before. 32 looked horrible. Even on 27, it looks a bit blurry

        • at QHD or 1080p?

          • +1

@bananabendera: QHD for both. with 32 inches, you can see the antiailsing on the text, making it look blurry and weird. With 27 inches, you have to try to notice. But my Mac screen does look noticable better than both.

        • +1

Yeah, 1440p at 27" is ideal for gaming and the lowest pixel density that is OK for text based workloads in my experience. 32-34" at 4k is great for text and if you render games at 1440p then upscale you don't notice much of the artifacts as the screen is still smallish for the resolution.

If you have a racing sim setup, these monitors are really good if you are on a budget, having 3x of these in a surround setup, make its really immersive, and it doesn't break the bank.

  • I was thinking about this but 4k but then realise my hardware which I thought used to be able to run some titles are 4k isn't really the case anymore unless I play older titles.

Guess 4K is kinda just pricelocked in an expensive pc bracket for now.

    • I was getting acceptable 4k performance for 2-3 year old games out of a Radeon 6800. I was recently lucky enough to upgrade to a 9070XT and it is superb for most games in 4k. Stuff like Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered runs at 100fps+, newer games run at a solid 60ish fps average, and VR stuff runs like butter (which was my main motivation).

      • yeah my most powerful card rn is a faulty rtx 3070 or functioning rx 6700xt

  • So would running 1080p games look ok on this

    • +2

Personally I would say no because of messy interpolation due to 1440 not being divisible by 1080. Better off with a 4k monitor where you can double the resolution exactly for 1080p games and use scaling on your GPU. But also 1080p is very borderline at 32 inches IMHO - a slightly smaller 4k monitor would be optimal if that's your target resolution.

      • Ok might be better to pay more for a video card that can run 1440p games and get this monitor. Maybe arc b580.

    • If you use upscaling instead of interpolation, yes. So turn FSR or whatever upscale on and it will be fine.

  • Curse you.. and bless you..

I almost bought 3 yesterday at the discounted price of $370 each..

    Couldn't resist at $270 each..
These will be perfect for my 2nd Sim rig

    • second sim racing rig?

      • +1

Yeah I also couldn't resist the Trak Racer TR80S on special recently for $450

So I decided it's time to build a rig for my son

        • +1

oh, that's so cool, I'm happy for your son!

    • Damn i have been waiting for a deal for trip 32's for my rig i am on a 55in tv for the last year :D

  • +1

Awesome deal and just before tax time 👍🏻

Does anyone know the particular panel used in this monitor? Is it a panel lottery like the HP OMEN 27q?

If anyone has bought one, could you provide some insight by checking the revision?

The label on the side of the box will show an "L" or "B" as the Revision.
Rev: L… (e.g., Rev: L0IT1121): Indicates an LG panel.
    Rev: B… (e.g., Rev: B0BT1121): Indicates a BOE panel.

  • Thought I had missed the eofy monitors. Thanks!

  • Looking to use this as my office monitor then pass on to my younger son in a couple years. Does anyone know if this monitor supports split screen so I can effectively use it as 2 monitors
Like email one side , another program on the other

    • Split screen works on all screens.

      • Thanks I'm a luddite . I'll work out how to do it and pull the trigger

        • If it's Windows, press Windows + left arrow or hover over the square maximise button to select different layouts

    • Win + -> / <- key should do.

  • How would this go for ps5?

    • +1

      Really good. Fortnite at 1440p / 120fps

  • +1

Probably best bang for buck out there

  • +2

Great deal OP.. I bought one..

  • Damn oos

  • Awesome! I would like to take it.

  • Oos…
Should have pulled the trigger this arvo

    • You may be in luck, I decided to cancel my order of it :D

      • Turns out I didn't cancel it in time and it arrived today. I'm figuring out what to do with it but if you're interested DM me.

  • Shame I missed out, would have made a good secondary work screen

  • Thanks Op, have you seen any 34 inch for sale

  • In case anyone was still chasing this, they've just put the equivalent curved monitor 32c down to the same price on ebay.
