Melbourne Central are giving ticket holders of the 2013 Australian Open a free $10 Melbourne Central Gift Card.

Simply present a valid 2013 Australian Open ticket at the Customer Service Desk in Shot Tower Square on Level 1 to claim your gift card. Valid ticket means any ticket from the 14th until the final on the 27th.

Valid to the first 1,500 ticket holders to claim.

Seems pretty straightforward. Melbourne Central gift cards can be used at the following stores(pdf). Notable places: KFC, Asian Beer Cafe, Gloria Jeans, Grilld, Hungry Jacks, Nandos, Mad Mex, Oporto, Subway, Jeans West, Just Jeans, Hoyts, EB Games. Pretty much everywhere except the Melbourne Lion Pub & the bowling/laser tag place.

      Nice. Was it fairly easy to claim? My Open ticket is a mobile ticket on my phone. Hopefully that should be enough. I suppose I could show them pictures I took there.

    I dare someone to make a sign, 'Used Ticketek Ticket Recycling, Keeping our world green!' and stand near one of the exits with a recycling bin. But you would need a big family or lots of friends to claim them….

    Just picked up my gift card. Very easy to do. Only took a couple of minutes. My 1 issue is that you have to fill your name and email on a list. You can see everyone elses details on the list and vice versa. So best put a fake name and email.

    The guy at the desk said he had been giving the gift cards out for 5 straight hours. About 400 given out today. Well done OzBargainers!

    My husband & I picked up our free giftcards yesterday. We just showed our mobile tickets and gave us some info(name,postal code,email & signature).

    The cards don't expire for 12 months.

      unfortunately yes. I tried to claim a GV today at 1pm and was told by the service staff that the claim limits been reached.

      I had 2 tickets to claim too - oh well.
