if i have to pay extra $300 for lowest spec m4 ipad pro 13 inch i would rather do that because of the sweet sweet screen

    • +2

Completely agree. Buy the lower spec and get a USB-c hard drive.

  • +8

Just to add to this, the 1TB and 2TB models have 16GB of memory as opposed the standard 8GB

    • xtra gpu core too i think

      cld be wrong

This model was released in May 2021.

      M1 still pretty good though

      • +7

It is currently more than adequate, however this is 4+ year old tech at this stage being sold at a high price still. Also M5 iPad Pros are due in September I believe.

        • 2TB and cellular

        • also has a great screen, g5 modem and 2tb storage

i'm not as confident as i used to be about ongoing apple silicon support but i still reckon this's a pretty good package if it ticks all your boxes

  • +1

The iPad Pros can have an SSD drive connected to the USB C port to offload/install files.

Picked up a iPad Pro 12.9 inch 6th gen (M2 chip) 256 wifi & cellular for $650 on marketplace recently. Super smooth device!

      a real good price!

Did you mean stolen black market?

  • Sold my iPad Pro M1 12.9 1T WIFI+5G for $1100, not bad. Bought for $1500 3 years ago

  • I have an M1 11” Pro that I bought from new when they were released. This going like a trooper. I really can’t justify buying a replacement one.

Just wondering whether Apple provide one year or two years warranty for new iPad sold via Amazon? Also, what’s the chances of buying Apple Care on top of this and changing to a newer model two years later? Thanks

    • I have just called Apple and been advised that Apple Care Plus can be added within 30 days of purchase on device, or within 60 days in Apple store.
If this model is what you need at this price point, then you might want to add the extra cover $249 for two years. In case you damage it and make a claim, currently for $149 you can get a replacement.
By late 2027, most likely Apple won't have any stock for this exact model (Vintage). The real deal may come with that if Apple is kind enough to provide ipadpro2025 or 2026 with same specs. Of course no guarantee for that.

  • +2

It's a very tempting deal. But unless you really need the 2TB and 5G the M4 and thin OLED screen in the newest ones are hard to pass up.

  • I had bad experience with Apple Ipads. Got three and they all obsolete just after 5 years as cant update operating software. Apple just said sorry you have to buy new one😬. Now can’t even start up. Anyone has way around this issue?

    • +1

What models are they? The upgrade to the iOS eventually stops but they usually keep working. You might find some software that requires later iOS to keep working. Just about every piece of apple kit I’ve even owned is still working including a really early iPOD.

      • One is Ipad mini model A1489

        • +1

That model was released in 2013. The best thing to do with these sort of devices is return them to factory reset but if you can’t even turn them on then you might have battery issues. Five years for upgrades to the Operating systems isn’t too bad.

    • +1

Just because they can't update doesnt mean its not operational. Now can't even startup could be host of reasons relating to batteries in all devices

  • Now it is $1199. I got one.

    • Lucky MF showing $3k for me

    • Have you got any recommendations for cas or screen protector ?

      • I stopped getting screen protectors for mine I just use a case that includes a front cover.

      • I use the matt protector as I don't like the light reflection.
