I just got a Westpac card how can I get the Bonus?

    • +4

just link the card to your shopback account (click Westpac portal in shopback and follow the steps) and use it for purchase.

      • Thanks, so add the Westpac card in the Shopback payment, right?

    • +6

Good plan but crappy network. I signed up for a similar deal last year and can’t wait to get off the Vodafone network. Worst of the worst.

      • +1

I'm with boost can't wait to get away from that crappy network .

        • Same, Boost sucks in Melbourne CBD areas.

      • +1

Agreed!! I’m on Vodafone for the first time and it’ll definitely be the last. It has 5G but hardly ever works. My partner and I are using the same phone model, but my network is forever weaker than hers.

        • Do you think the Vodafone network has some sort of a personal vendetta against you and your phone?

Could your phone be the issue perhaps?

      • This. 200%. I also signed up for the similar deal last year with Voda and am counting down the days until I’m out.

In Melbourne CBD and constantly get no internet despite it showing 2-3 bars of 5G.

        Never again.

        • Is it that bad? My boost finishing end of year so contemplating choices

          • +1

@garbagetnt: Only way to know for sure is to try it. Buy a cheap sim off eBay that uses the Vodafone network and test it out.

FWIW, I used a Vodafone sim as my temporary swap (in-between Boost yearly recharges) and I found the Vodafone network in my area and the places I usually visit to be pretty good.

    • Can it b any St George banksa card as well or does it have to be Westpac?

  • +1

when do we need to activate the sim card so that we can still get the cashback?

update: don't worry found it, it has to be activated within 30 days and cashback is only for new Vodafone customers.

  • How are people finding Voda/Optus reception and speed (post network merger) compared to Telstra/Boost these days? Worth changing over to Voda?

    • +3

Depending on where you are located, In Perth I find they are similar. Telstra/Boost was the worst in Karrinyup shopping centre. now they are all good.

    • +1

Same here. My Boost plan expires next month. Thinking of switching because the reception has been pretty average.

      • Boost gone crap!
Voda also uuseless for ovaseas data.
Currently in underdevelopped Bavaria where internet is perhaps soon arriving…

    • We use mobile broadband for a shack up on the Murray just outside of Murray Bridge. Up until the start of this year (ie before Voda and Optus started sharing infrastructure), the coverage / speed/ stability was terrible. Now our mobile broadband speeds are much better (above 100 down and 40 up when I tested in Jan this year) and we've all but given up on wireless NBN. Obviously subject to the coverage in your area, but it's been great for us.

  • Good offer OP for those missed previous deal.

They had better offer other day as well,
$199 on the higher tier starter pack and cheaper with Amex officework

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/910269

  • They’ve doubled their network🤨🤨

    • +1

No, thwy are just using Optus towers now ss well.

      • but isn't this thing just regional?

so if i live in metro area in Melbourne it won't change a thing? right?

  • -1

How long does the pack last for? My current plan still has half a year, should I just buy this and hold it until my current one almost expires?

    • Needs to be activated within 30 days of purchased, according to the T&Cs

      • -2

If I dont, I wont get the cashbank?

  • It says that cashback is only for new Vodafone customers. I have a Vodafone account for Vodafone home internet, and so I am not sure if I will get cashback if I grab this mobile prepaid pack? Does anyone know, or whom to contact for clarification?

  • Can you port from Felix to Voda?

  • From SB App, one of exclusions is 'Prepaid 365 Plus plan', it makes me very confused.

    • This exclusion is very confusing … I wander if they'll cancel the cash-back at a later date.

    • It all looks correct, CB is 30% on $250 365d plan, and exclusion is 365 Plus plan

      • They both called 'Prepaid Plus' Starter Pack. https://www.vodafone.com.au/prepaid/plans/250plus That's make me confused.

There is another Vodafone deal from simonline, it's $148 after coupon code I almost bought yesterday.

        https://www.simonline.com.au/products/vodafone-$250-sim-card-p369992546

  • can you buy these as e-sims? or are they sim only

    • Also hoping for eSIM… sounds like we need to insert physical sim first then switch to eSIM

  • -2

Earlier they forced me to buy this from a Voda store.
Not bad, at least you get free sms receive while overseas unlike Hell$tra that charges you $70 to get one 2FA.

Sorry Gerry, you got stuck with Floptus…

    • +3

Telstra Wi-Fi Calling works overseas (and it’s free). Vodafone doesn’t, they geoblock it, so you can’t make or receive calls while you’re overseas (you can only receive SMS)

  • Can not find this in officeworks. Do they sell $250 sim card? Would be better option to price beat with longer activation period.

  • Can the shopback be used for another prepaid pack for 30% shopback (without a bonus Westpac)?

  • It's such a a good deal if all go well. I wish topcashback can match this.

    • +1

same boat, don’t want to sign up to ShopBack, but at ~$9/m maybe too good to miss

  • For whatever the reason, Vodafone in Sydney CBD around townhall espcially Hyde park is aweful since they said they have doubled the coverage…. unuseable to some extent.

    • +1

What phone do you use? In my experience, no problem with Vodafone in Sydney CBD around town hall and Hyde Park.

Boost Mobile (Telstra) signal is not that good in Woolworths Metro Central Park for example.

  • How does this offer compare to Boost?

  • +2

Hey OP, did your westpack cashback tracked separately?

mine tracked for $53.70(without $20 from the Westpac offer), I clicked through Westpac lounge and paid using the card

    • +1

Same, just hoping it is delayed as is sometimes the case.

      • +1

I also see the shopback cashback. Not sure where to track the Westpac cashback.

        • +2

Mine came through now, about 3:30hrs later.
Westpac tracking should just be part of your standard tracking feed.

          • +1

@tobinm: Took me a while, but the Westpac tracking came on later. It is a separate thing that gets tracked.

    • +1

Mine was about 2 hours later

    • 30% cashback was almost instant for me, although I am still waiting for the $20

  • Also can't see my Westpac bonus. Ordered around mid day.

  • Is this better or Amaysim for usage?

  • "new connections only".

not sure if i get it if i am on kogan mobile.?

  • within how many days I can activate this sim?

  • Many thanks, good timing as we need one soon. Both tracked instantly. 53.7+20

  • Received sim in the morning and activated.

  • Is the deal back? They have 30 percent for 179. But not compatible with prepaid 365 plus plan.. which one is that? Anyone could find that 29$ cashback from Westpac?

  • Does this plan come with any calls or just data?

    • +1

Probably worth opening the link and checking the plan details for that answer

  • This is back.
Do you know if you can get 2 cashbacks if you order 2? (Ordered separately though)

    • Best offer currently is 30% cashback at TopCashback posted here. Cashback would be per order.
