  • I prefer the Uber light even in Melbourne. If it gets too cold I just put a thermal on underneath. This is what I took to do my trip in Norway in October.

    • what did you layer it with for Norwegian autumn?

      • +1

I had bra, tshirt, thermal top, Katmandu light top, uber light puffer. If it was raining I then had a Macpac waterproof jacket over the top. I also had a merino thermal hat, scarf and gloves. If needed them I wore thermals under my jeans. I carried waterproof over pants but didn’t use them. Certainly have waterproof shoes.

The weather was rainy but not too cold.

How to get it for $79.99 delivered?

    • +1

Oops, sorry, that was a little misleading on my part - apologies :/

  • +2

The uber light is what I’d call a good autumn weight. It packs into a stuff sack that’s not much bigger than your average jar of salsa/pasta sauce.

It’s also slightly longer in the body than the Halo which is a consideration if you’re tall.

I bought one of these for travel as a light packable jacket - it’s brilliant for this and can layer really well

  • I prefer this one for Sydney. Halo is too hot even in winter

  • How's the sizing?

I think I might hold out for prime day

    • +2

For womens, it runs small. It can be quite tight across the shoulders and chest, so need to size up or two depending on how much you want to layer up.

For mens, it runs slightly larger.

    • I'm usually a men's small and Macpac XS fits perfectly (at least with my Halo V2). Seems to run large.

      • +1

Are you able to layer under with that size??

  • +1

Looks like V2 men's is available but only in the hooded version.

If anyone is wondering, the main difference from V1 seems to be that it packs into its own pocket vs the seperate packing sack.

    • I find most (or at least all that I've personally used) of these lightweight down vests/jackets will easily pack into their own pockets.
The only catch for those not originally designed to, so the v1 in this case, is that the zipper pull won't 'flip' to the other side, meaning you need to be sure not to zip it all the way up otherwise you'll struggle to get that pocket open again.

It's pretty warm for such a light jacket. Great for travelling since it packs down small.

Hasn't expired yet, anyone wanting can still purchase

  • Thanks OP, got one. Good find by the way.

  • What's the good price for the hooded version of the uber light?

  • Price changed to $99.99 now

  • -2

It literally changed to $99 as I was inputting a voucher code that I had bought at a discount to specifically purchase it… so damn unfair. Showed me the discounted price and as I put the voucher code in it suddenly took $80 off the original price and said I owed $140??? then when I refreshed the page it changed to $99. :( that shouldn't be possible.

    • +1

If you hit up customer care and ask for a price honour, there's a decent chance they'll do it.

    • +2

its a regular deal, you will likely see that price again soon

  • Whats better quality warmer lighter etcetera -

Macpac Men's Uber Hooded Down Puffer Jacket V2 $99.99

Macpac Men's Uber Light Hooded Down Puffer Jacket V2 $99.99

Macpac Men's Halo Hooded Down Puffer Jacket V2
    $129.99

  • For those like me who have wanted one of these and waited for a decent deal, And you have the Commonwealth $15

CashBack offer active, then $84.99 for one of these in choice of your preferred colour in the Middle of Winter

is still a decent deal me thinks.
