    "Fully tested, cleaned and sanitized"

So this is what they mean by “refurbished” nowadays? I suppose next time I’ll list my used phone on FB Marketplace as a "refurbished" one as well 😳

    • -1

“Refurbished” at Phonebot isn’t just a wipe down. Each device undergoes:

      1. Full diagnostic testing and any component replacement needed

      2. Deep cleaning and sanitisation

      3. Final quality grading before it’s listed

We stand by our process with a 12-month warranty and 30-day change-of-mind policy, so you know exactly what “refurbished” really means here.

        That is not refurbished.
How can anyone trust you to honour a warranty when you persist in such lies?

        • Not picking sides here, just curious what you think refurbished should mean.

Replacing the whole case, battery, etc?

          • +6

@cnut: If you rent a refurbished apartment, what does that mean? Certainly more than steam cleaned and inspected. You expect new paint, carpets, windows treatments, kitchen appliances, …

There is no precise definition, but case and battery would fit. Screen if scratched. The term was originally used by Apple to mean new battery and shell, to distinguish from returns, open box, or just plain used.

Easy can get these for between 150-200 on fbmp

    • -1

While you may find similar listings on Facebook Marketplace for $150–$200, those typically come without any warranty, testing, or return policy. Phonebot devices are fully tested, cleaned, and covered by a 12-month warranty, plus our 30-day change-of-mind policy, and we include free delivery for added peace of mind.

      • +2

If the fbmp are under 2 years old you can still spin a warranty replacement via an Apple Store quoting the ACL.

        • +2

Most of the time you wont even need to do that, I had my 14pro max replaced no questions after nearly 1.5 years of use. The replacement phone also came with an additional 2 years of warranty.

  • I paid $499 for a brand-new Telstra prepaid SE, sheesh now there's a refurb one for $249, ooh.

You should see how much Android phone you can get for $499, that'll make you even sadder.

  • What testing do you do? I’m curious what software or process you use.

      Q-Tip 3000. ClothWipe 2.0. Toothpicker XP.

      Sometimes a bit of IsopropylAlkahool™️

  • @erroorfree any deals on 128Gb or larger? Thank you.

  • Recommend phonebot.

Had a dreadful experience with Boost getting 3 obviously damaged iPhone 12s that clearly didn't meet their rating descriptions, took 4 weeks before I gave up with replacements and got a refund. Phone from Phonebot was is great condition.

  • Should I get this phone? I had iPhone 7 (new), then iPhone 8 (hand-me-down), then iPhone SE 2020 (refurb). These are all practically identical phones, visually, physically, and functionally. If I get this SE 2022 and keep it for 1 year, I will have had essentially the same phone for 10 years.

    • Get the 16e

      • No home button/fingerprint sensor. Extra $750…

        • Face ID is way much better, trust me.

    • What's your budget?

    • Should last you 2 years easily. Good phones.

This one is slightly more expensive but comes with a 2yr warranty. As New condition for an extra $20, same warranty. Excellent seller, have used multiple times before.

Pretty dated looking phone now the SE3. Still getting updates and runs OK but screensize and layout is crap by 2025 standards.

    • It's clearly not intended for people who value screen size, it's the most basic iPhone for people who want a capable and reliable yet cost effective device. For what it is they're completely adequate.

      • No doubt they are adequate for some purposes but people with glasses and poor vision will hate using these. Just my experience as we had these at work and many complained they couldn't use it for work and wanted different or Plus models etc.

        • It still has the same text size multipliers that the newest phones have - if someone has poor vision they can do that fine.

Not everyone wants a gigantic phone 💀

Is this $179 one the same model as OP's? https://www.coles.com.au/product/apple-iphone-se-64gb-premiu…
