  • Damn and I thought I got a good deal in 2021 for my 75 inch Frame Tv (with practically no anti-reflection) for $2000 :(

    • I think I got the same deal from edu. This one is very tempting but I got into a lot of strife in 2021 for buying a TV "when there was nothing wrong with our current one"!

I can't comment on the price but I can say beware with Samsung tv's - I am about to rage quit mine into landfill.

Each and every time we turn it on it's some utter CRAP music video blaring. I've been through the tutorials to disable this. And it works…. for a day or so and then we're back into garbage teeny bopper music every time you turn the tv on.

That, and a host of software issues - Ch9 app needs to be fully un-installed and re-installed on a ~weekly basis, etc.

    YMMV.

My small Samsung Frame has been working flawless for at least 3 years now

      • +1

        I have the Frame 75 2024 (LS03D)

I bought mine in Oct 2024, i just managed to successfully get them to agree to replace but because there are no more stocks, i end up getting a refund instead.

Wifi and remote keep intermittently stop working. First time was within a month of owning then another one a month after. Then in May it started and after a few weeks battle i got the replacement/refund approved.

I was thinking of getting the Frame Pro (LS03F) with the perks discount but if you check on reddit, people are reporting similar issues and also on top of that you have wireless connect box issue as well.

I also hate Samsung Tizen OS in which you cannot even switch input without going through the main menu with ads.

I got the TCL C8K now installed and much happier even though I do miss the matte screen but I don't have much options. TCL NXTFRAME is still not as good as Samsung Frame.

        • Did they take your tv back and refunded? Iam so frustrated with the cloud like blemishes all over the screen.

          • @newlifeap: i still have the Frame TV laying on the bed in the spare bedroom. the request for refund is approved because they couldn't supply a replacement but they just haven't sent a technician to pick it up, yet.

i have now replaced this with TCL C8K. it has much better picture quality but I do miss the anti-glare coating of the Frame.

i also saw the cloud blemishes on the Frame 2024 and looking at reddit, some people have been complaining since Frame 2022 and even Frame Pro 2025.

I noticed them too while watching dark scenes and at night it was more visible to point it created an annoying "dirty" look.

However, I tested it again recently after the factory reset before taking down the screen from the wall and i could see that the blemishes are now gone??? I'm not sure how a factory reset can fix it.

            • +1

@meong: Thank you so much for your detailed response. I will try my luck with resetting or else fight for replacement/refund.

Try setting it to open last used app rather then home page. Not sure if you've already tried that but never had this issue on my Samsung tv.

      • Also disable Samsung TV Plus app from the home page or the app menu.

The autoplay at max volume is super annoying otherwise.

To avoid any possible wifi issues I also plugged in a spare mesh router next to the Frame to use ethernet connection instead.

  • OLED OR QLED

    • +6

This "QLED" is just a mediocre edge-lit LCD with matte finish.

      From rtings review (https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/the-frame-2024-qle…):

The Samsung The Frame TV is mediocre overall. It has low input lag and HDMI 2.1 bandwidth for up to 4k @ 120Hz with VRR, so it's a good option to pair with modern gaming consoles. However, its response time just isn't good enough for a truly responsive gaming experience. It is suitable for a bright room due to its excellent direct reflection handling and good SDR peak brightness, although inversely it struggles with ambient sources of light. The TV isn't a good choice for home theater use, as it lacks a local dimming feature, giving it poor black levels. Its colors aren't deep enough to truly impress, and it also lacks Dolby Vision, as well as not passing through advanced DTS audio formats through eARC.

      • +1

Completely agree - I view this TV as more of a piece of furniture or decor as opposed to any serious home theatre equipment.

It looks nice on the wall and is decent in rooms with lots of daylight.

        • -2

Sure if you have $2k to burn on an 85" digital photo frame, this is a good option.

Personally I'd rather spend it on an actual piece of artwork, since that will last you a lifetime, whereas this TV will probably break after a couple years knowing Samsung QC.

    • OLED OR QLED

Can you get 83" OLED for under $2500?

      • -1

No but you can get a 85" TCL MiniLED for under $2500 which is better than this TV in every way.

  • +1

I was tempted as I'm looking at a bigger TV.

So I had a quick look at reviews. From RTINGS.COM for this version from 2024.

'The Samsung The Frame TV is mediocre overall..'

Gonna pass, but it's a fantastic price for a big TV.

    • I can tell you its mediocre. No local dimming and even the 2025 frame pro has only edge lit local dimming.

However, its the best matte screen in that price range. Hisense and TCL are not at this level yet.

Your next option for matte screen is Samsung OLED S95 which is crazy expensive.

  • +9

Edge lit tv in 2025 , no thanks

Grab a Hisense or tcl mini led instead

  • Is there an alternative to these ones? Haven’t bought a TV in years but keen on getting one to put on the wall which doesn’t look like an eyesore and doesn’t draw attention.

    • Hisense has one.

      They call it a Canvas

      • And TCL NXTFRAME.

  • -5

    QLED? Yuck. OLED only thanks

  • I have this one and it's amazing. For this price it's insane.

Only for people who use for the dual use case of TV and digital paintings/photos on it.

There are better TV's if that's all you're after.

These sit right against the all a few mm away so it is FLAT

    • 100% - it's a good compromise when your going to use the TV as a 'painting' to decorate a room. Sony X90L far better purely for entertainment. We have both, and don't regret either TV.

  • No stock unless newcastle or bathurst

  • +4

People are missing the point. You're not meant to buy and use this as a main TV

I have 75 and 65 in both my loungerooms, and i know the reviews and specs aren't perfect but aesthetically they look amazing, displaying art or screensavers, and sit really flush against the wall. I watch 4k sport, 4k series and movies and play lots of ps5 games and I am more than happy with it. I dont understand the UI issues, i just use the google tv chromescast.

    • Exactly!

  • No del to the ACT for the 65" :(

The 85 C7K absolutely wipes the floor with this TV..but I guess the design is nice

There is a whole subreddit (18k+) about this series of TV and how shit they are. I've tried to convince myself over the years that I want one of these, but the software is progressively getting worse instead of better it seems.

As a main TV it wouldn't be your best option… but I have a Frame in the main bedroom and its perfect.
With its slimline build and mount, it's truly just part of the wall- until you need a TV to watch. Not every TV in the house needs to be the bees knees. Form is just as important as Function in some areas of the house.

I agree to a point with the above comments about it not be great for games, movies, etc as a main screen… but again for the occasional Xbox game and Netflix in the bedroom or a second TV somewhere, its fine- no complaints. If it's going to be for daily use in a bright and light living room, don't get it.

You're buying this TV for an area you don't want to see a big black TV in… or as a picture frame displaying family memories. And a 85" Frame for $2300 is a bargain.
Don't be scared off by reviews and online comments saying its junk. It's not junk. It's built to a purpose, and for that purpose (to blend in to where you don't want or expect a big screen) there's nothing better on the market. It's still the thinnest option out there.

I still haven't seen a TV on the market where all it's AV connections are managed by an external hidden box, and all you need is to feed one thin wire to the display hanging on the wall. That's what the Frame is built for… it just sits on the wall looking exactly like a picture frame. Actually, I have picture frames in my house that are thicker than this TV!

For a home theatre? No. For a bright living/family room used on a daily basis? No.
But it IS a good TV when used in the way it was designed.

    • Wasn't it designed just to display art?

    • How did you hide or where did you hide that square black box that needs to be connected on the TV in order to work?

      • The box can go in a tv unit/sideboard underneath if you have, and the beauty is everything plugs into that, ie ps5, hard drives etc so very convenient. If you dont have a sideboard the cable is from memory 5 metres long so you can surely hide it somewhere.

      • As said by nepsquirrel, the control box for this tv (a large chunk of what is normally tucked into the back of a normal tv), is remote to the tv and connected by a single thin wire. All your normal AV connections (HDMI, HiFi etc) go into that box.

I've trailed the thin wire inside the wall and down off to the side, where the 'black box' sits in a cupboard.
The TV remote still goes to the TV itself… so the box itself doesn't have to be visible or line of sight for everything to work.

    • For a bright living/family room used on a daily basis? No.

      Why is this a no?

I think the anti-matte coating makes this very useful for a bright living room.

      • This is exactly why we bought it. Have an extremely bright living room with lots of direct sun. Before that a much brighter but glossy tv screen wasn't usable at all.

        • The screen is matte, but the screen itself doesn't get very bright to combat front on reflections.
It works ok of course, nothing wrong with a loungeroom setup… I just wouldn't buy it as a main tv for this reason.

          • @UFO: in my experience it was definitely working to improve reflection and in fact was the reason i bought the tv

          • @UFO: Yeah you sure you have the right model? its almost impossible to see reflections on this screen.

Rtings is great for TV ratings…. very thorough testing on image reproduction. But this TV isn't just about it's ability to show images.

You're buying it because it does things other TV's can't…. not because it's awesome at showing images.
If you want a no fuss wall mount with just a single cable to route and a separate control box to connect all your other devices to, this TV does what no other ones can.

      • It's nuts that people buy are willing to buy a terrible TV just because it has tidy cables and sits flush with the wall.
