Pretty good price for a pretty good reviewed hiking/backpacking sleeping mat. Haven't personally used it but have seen reviews saying it can be crinkly/noisy although this latest version is meant to be improved. Strangely enough, only the regular wide is discounted but that is the recommended option to go for it seems. It's one of the lightest inflatable mats at the reported R-value for warmth.

Not an ATL for the regular wide but close to it at $242 for the regular discounted price. If you pair with payment using PayTo and use coupon PAYTO5, it just sneaks under and is an ATL (afaik) with it becoming $229.2 Alternatively if you pay using a NAB card (debit or credit card) with coupon NAB10, it becomes $232.

  • Wide is good. I prefer (and have) the square one.
Very good and solid insulation for 10+ °C overnight camping.
I am noise sensitive and sleep with ear plugs anyway but even without them the NXT version is not too noisy

Your one is almost double the weight. Every gram counts when hiking over several days. It's a popular sleeping mat over in r/ultralight and I can vouch for it. Doesn't take up much weight when rolled up either.

If camping overnight, I'd get yours otherwise

        Math much? lol
        690g / 450g = + 50%

But this is irrelevant. First you compare noname with respected brand. Second you trust noname's word for weight. Go Mountain Design and don't think back. I have it and it lasts ages.

370g is the regular wide (354g without the sack - I just weighed mine). Yours weights 86% more. What part of my math doesn't math? And it uses up less volume when packed compared to yours.

That "no name" is considered a high end brand in the serious pack-carry world. Mountain Designs has good stuff but is balancing around the "bang for buck" position. Good quality for decent prices.
Thermarest is considered expensive but one of the best you can buy. So when on sale it becomes more justifiable.

          "no name brand"

          oh buddy….

therm-a-rest has been around probably a lot longer than you've been alive - far from no name brand. And "mountain designs" is respected at Anaconda… and only sold at anaconda…
