(Description stolen from this Post)

Price has gone down again for this highly reviewed Desiccant Dehumidifier.

If you missed out in the past, now's the time to grab one.

Perfect for drying clothes in the winter or preventing mould build-up (especially around windows, etc.).

Desiccant dehumidifiers are better for colder climates as they expel heat into the room.
If you have a dry function on your split system, that's fine when it's hot (because they expell cold air), but in winter, you need to go desiccant.

12L version uses refrigerant so it's a compressor type, the 10L posted here is desiccant type.

    • I have recently purchased the 12L compressor version from Bunnings that you linked to. Such a great little machine. So satisfying to see the bucket fill up with water! And you notice the drier, fresher smelling air as soon as you walk into the room. Best $268 dollars I ever spent.

      • Well in the end the WDH-610HE will cost less to run.

  • Myself I got one of these from amazon to test 12v versions. 12v at 3.5A https://www.amazon.com.au/Dehumidifiers-Dehumidifier-Portabl…

Technically you could use it in the car to help overnight. If you park outside and have a second battery.

Similar to this one costs more: https://www.amazon.com.au/Dehumidifier-Portable-Ausclimate-D…

  • These work well. I got an older model WDH-610HE for $130 from catch 2 years ago. Great for drying washing in Melb winter or drying out the bathroom after a bunch of ppl shower in the morning.

  • +1

I've got two of these units, which I use in cool areas, they work very well, can't fault them.

This brand/model received positive reviews from Choice as well.

This is a decent price, especially if you need one now. Sometimes Bunnings stores in Adelaide will clear them out at $199 or $149 near the end of winter, so you can get lucky.

These guys suck when the product stops working out of warranty. There's a reason they don't have a phone number - so they can ignore warranty claims. Ionmax is an equivalent brand with better support.

  • Running the a/c in dry mode (600w) or cool mode, most days would overfull a 9l bucket, thus changed to a 15l bucket to test.

    • Our home gets poor airflow and the cooler months mould and condensation are an issue. I tried to run my MHI aircon in dry mode and found it not nearly as effective as this desiccant ausclimate i bought last month. Maybe im not using the right settings or its mounted too high or something but the desiccant dehumidifier is noticeably more effective.

      • +1

That's not unusual, an air conditioner does tend to dry out the air while it's running but it is definitely not as effective at removing moisture as a dedicated dehumidifier.

  • +1

I got the newer model with wifi about 1.5 weeks ago for $374 and am amazed how much moisture it removes from the air. No more condensation on windows after a cold night.

    • I feel like wifi feature is handy for this and I just need to wait for it to come down in price again. Cheers!

  • I need a dehumidifier for my apartment bathroom as there is very little ventilation. I noticed this brand also has a 20L version which isn't too much more: https://www.amazon.com.au/Ausclimate-Healthy-Indoor-Climate-…

Is there a difference between the two?

    • +5

Deal is for dessicant. Yours is a compressor. Compressor better for warmer weather dehumidifcation. Dessicant better for colder weather.

had this for a few years now. great dehumidifier, never had issue the last 3 years. my only complain is it's quite loud. definitely wont recommend using this in room when sleeping

Got this a couple of months ago via Bunnings PM for $306 and has been running great during the winter and especially on the rainy days. the amount of water it collects everyday is mindboggling!

    • Hi @ozprash, what's Bunnings PM?

      • +2

Price Match, actually Price beat. xhanatos has detailed the steps below.

  • Hi @xhanatos, can you please elaborate how did you price match against Bunnings for $305.10? Thanks!

    • +2
      • Ring Bunnings or go a store
      • Tell Bunnings that that Amazon has the Dehumidifier for $339
      • Bunnings will beat $339 by10% as per their 'lowest price guarantee'

https://www.bunnings.com.au/policies/price-policy - Our lowest prices policy means that if you find a competitor's lower price (including GST and delivery charges) on the same in-stock item, we'll beat it by 10%.

Do it as soon as possible, before Amazon ends the deal or the dehumidifier goes out of stock.

      • +2

It may not work for you. I tried this at a local Bunnings and they said the policy is to only beat the price if the competitor price is lower than the Bunnings price. So since Amazon is selling it for the same price, no price matching.

      • Thanks for the detailed info! Now that you mention it, I remember hearing about their price beat in their ads. Somehow I only tend to associate price beat with Officeworks.

  • Are these unit any good for removing moisture from the laundry that is generated from a clothes drier? I have a awning window in the laundry but am not getting enough airflow to remove the moist air and I am getting mould on the ceiling.
