  • Costco is a fantastic place to shop, if you have a decent measure of common sense. Some things the prices are comparable to Coles or Woolworths, some items I just wait to go on sale at Coles or Woolies because I know they are in sale catalogues routinely. However, some items, if you are willing to buy in bulk, are much MUCH cheaper. Take the Mi Goreng 2 minute noodle packs. You can get a case of them (36 I think, but maybe 24) for 7.99. The same brand of noodles at Coles are either 59 or 69 cents a pack. It's a HUGE difference. The membership fee is worth it, if you can do one big shop a month there you'll get that fee back fivefold. But you have to know what to look for, mentally compare or write down prices when in Coles or Woolworths. Plus, my whole family loves going to Costco just for the hot food. Where else can you get a massive hotdog and a soda (with unlimited refills) for 2.50? A Saturday lunch for a family of 4 for 10 dollars. You can't beat that.
