saw this when it was posted recently for $125 which I thought was great value because of the included BT adapter which is worth $50 ($69 normal price).

now showing a Prime Savings extra $20 off. the product number matches the T&C one.

benefit of the bluetooth adapter, well it's included and can be used to add bluetooth audio to an old PC.
or, it seems like it uses Apt X together with Accentum headphones to give low latency audio (And I assume voice chat/zoom calls).
Apt X latency is a low 40ms. SBC is 170ms~200ms. AAC is 150ms~200ms. adapter also supports newer Apt X Adaptive, which the entry tier Accentum does not.

+ it's lightweight, Sennheiser sound, App EQ, great battery life of 50 hours with ANC. button controls are a plus imo.

- noise cancelling is probably not class leading (Soundcore).

    can't edit the post anymore.

    Apt X latency is 60~80ms.
google spat out the wrong info 40ms is for Apt X LL only.

also curious if Apt X Adaptive on dongle, means Apt X HD on the Accentum works? idk.

    • RTINGS says these don't support any low latency codec.

      • -2

I know it's confusing but "aptX™" is one of the Apt X codec. ( aptX™ doesn't mean "everything with Apt X in the name").

so the headphones support aptX™, and the included Sennheiser BTD600 USB adapter supports aptX™. so you will get 60ms~80ms latency when using the included BT adapter (worth mentioning Sennheiser AU page mentions "Compatible with Mac and PC" only - doesn't say anything about tablets and phones).

most phones use SBC (android) or AAC (Apple) which means you get the higher latency as written in post. Rtings most likely tested without the BTD600 adapter so did only SBC and AAC latency tests.

        • Your post suggests AptX on these headphones will have 40ms latency which is a lie. These do not support any low latency standard, be it Aptx LL or Aptx adaptive LL. These have 40ms latency over USB, so it's likely AptX on these will have over 150ms latency, possibly worse.

As tested they showed 250ms latency with AptX HD, unless the included dongle allows you to choose a codec this is how they will be connected, you will have 250ms latency which is very poor.

not much difference between 40ms (aptX™ LL) and 60ms ( aptX™) though (pretty sure 60~80ms of aptX™ depends on distance). they say latency over 100ms is noticeable, so SBC and AAC are considered high latency.

Don't really need another headphone but I bought it anyway. Can't go wrong for $92.50, thanks OP :D

where do you get the 12.5 $ differences?

  • Looking for a cheap ish wireless headphone set up (no mic) for gaming. How does this compare to the momentum 4 + BT-W5 dongle? (Other than $320 vs this deal of $105 - is the audio difference worth it)?

    • +1

If you're looking for cheap-ish headphones, then the Accentum is more than enough. The difference isn't much especially for gaming. I have the Momentum 4 and if I didn't, I would definitely pull this one.

set up (no mic) for gaming.

idk now. I tried to correct my error in the post in the first comment at the top.
but user who responded seems pretty confident that you cannot get low latency on these headphones even with the BT adapter.
which would make them not suitable for gaming.
even though on Sennheiser hearing page it says "low latency audio" in the marketing for the BTD600, and they chose this adapter specifically to bundle with the Accentum headphones.

I literally did my best with what info I could find with google in 5 mins, so idk what to believe anymore. need to hear from someone who bought this combo to find out I guess.

Note you cannot completely switch off ANC in these headphones, you can only select between full and transparency modes.

While they sound ok, my tinnitus couldn’t deal with the audible sound floor of these, so I returned them, which Sennheiser were pretty good about.

ok didn't know that. I guess like Bose then.

  • Germans know how to make the best orgasmics :)

    • Only second to the Japanese.

    • orgasmics

funny way of calling headphones. 😹

  • Back to $125.

    • Still good, discount displays in checkout screen.

    • it's always showed $125 on the price.

there is green text below which says Prime Savings $20 off. which makes it $105 for Prime subs.

      • @MilkDrinker @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm Thank you guys!

  • I bought this as a bit of an impulse buy.

It's kind of eye opening how much better the BT adapter sounds compared to my PC's BT

    • ok. I don't have the headphone or the adapter. but I just bought a universal TP-Link BT5.0 adapter to add BT to my PC (it's very old, had to add WiFi as well).

the TP Link seems to work with everything fine, mouse, keyboard, headphones. I don't know about getting like AptX working (I don't have any Apt X headphones) but I read somewhere for universal adapters it's just a matter of buying a BT audio driver from Bluetoothgoodies. then you can choose codec. (I don't know if it's ok to do with Sennheiser adapter you might brick it)

      • found the source: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bluetooth_Speakers/comments/1lbfzsd…

this is where I read it.
um also people recommend buying the license (one time cost) straight after installing and adding it as per instructions. (after install free trial should be activated, then purchase license at discounted price "$5.99 vs $9.99")

some people who let the free trial expire having issues with broken windows audio. it's priced fairly imo so just get a license.

    • Oh that's interesting. I always wonder what's the use of BT dongle in this day & age.

  • Does anyone here know how to turn off the noise cancellation? I don't like how it sounds.

edit: Never mind. Found the answer in a comment above. Back they go.

Note you cannot completely switch off ANC in these headphones, you can only select between full and transparency modes.

    • yeah someone mentioned in comment above, I didn't know either. Bose does the same thing with all their models. ANC or ambient only.

  • back to normal price now $349. that was more discount than I expected. I didn't buy because I already have Sony ULT Wears.. (same normal price, but I paid about $200 from amazon UK)
