So cut, I got these 2 or 3 weeks ago at officeworks via their pricebeat for 100

    • Return them and then buy back at new price beat

      • You can’t. Officeworks don’t price match Amazon Prime!!

I quit working at OW just over a year ago, they had pretty recently changed their terms so that costco member prices and amazon prime deals were eligible for price beats. not sure if it's changed back but it's always worth asking.

obviously they won't let you return and buy back at the same store though

          • @destiper: Was at OW Pakenham yesterday, guy in front returned an iPad still in box and asked to price match Amazon Prime and buy it back at the lower price.. yep they did on the spot. I was expecting a knock back but nope.

            • @TrailerTrash: That's just lucky for that one guy, but I know from working there that they're absolutely not supposed to do that, and your luck with OW price-beats always just depends on the individual staff member you get on that particular day and how closely they follow policy.

I actually got a formal warning because I did a refund + resale like that for a mate once lol

        • They did, i gave them an amazon link and that's how the original price was matched.

  • Been looking at these, have had multiple pair of Cloud II's over the years, are these a really good pair or just mid tier? The Cloud II's seem really good for the time that I had them but surely being 2025 theres some better stuff out there?

    • Sure, but probably not at this price point.

Overall they are not as good as the Cloud II's. The III's have a better microphone but that is it.

      • I have the Cloud II (I use separate headphones now and just use them when I need to use mic), they are terrible, specifically the treble that make my ears sore from how harsh they are, they're so bad not even equalizers could fix it. The IIIs improved quite a bit in that area: https://www.rtings.com/headphones/tools/compare/hyperx-cloud…

        • They're made and owned by hp now which tells you all you need to know. The IIs were awesome. I've had my wireless ones for ages but I'd be very hesitant getting the 3s

          • @FlourishingFarter: Umm, no it doesn't. Those tests were done with the older models. Also, the wireless ones had a different sound profile so they aren't the same, I guess I should have specified I was referring to the wired ones: https://www.rtings.com/headphones/tools/compare/hyperx-cloud…
They still are very harsh but it kicks in a bit later, not sure how much difference that makes but it's dips also aren't as bad.

            • @AreYouAWiiizard: I'm talking about quality in general. Unless it's a premium product anything made by hp is not made to last.

              My IIs have amazing sound

    • The cloud ii are awesome. They're made by HP now so I'll be very reluctant to buy the version 3.

    • I got the Logitech Pro X 2 Lightspeed

Much more expensive but has a 90h battery life and very good audio quality, however the sound drivers suck ass and the mic is not compatible with Discord if you use the packaged logitech software (blue voice)

Looks like the wireless version – (HyperX Cloud III Wireless) – is at an ATL too at $137.10

    • Would be keen for anyone to review these here

      • they're okay. I needed new headset but didn't realise these are only usb and not able to switch to bluetooth as no bluetooth. Just wanted something to switch between 2 computers quickly. They are sturdy and feel nice to wear.

    • Thanks, updated the deal.

Glad I bought 2 of these yesterday before they got ozbargained. I had original wired HyperX Clouds and expect these to be just as great.

These are the best headphones! The are so comfy I used them for work and gaming. Perfect for a giant head if you have one.

    • Bugger. I have a micro head.

        HyperX Cloud Mini?.

That being said the guy who recommended the Cloud III to me is quite a wee fella & has a small head, they fit him fine.

    • The version 3? I love the version 2 but being owned by hp now i doubt I'd ever buy them again.

Be warned that the pleather earpads deteriorate over time and flake everywhere

    • Plenty of replacement ear cushions on AliExpress that might be worth looking at for when that happens.

    • Yes that's always a hazard. AI reckons clean with warm soapy water & use a PU leather conditioner to keep it supple and to prevent cracking & flaking.

      • ai said which PU leather conditioner solves my flaking?

        • No, wasn't specific. There's probably one for sale for Prime Day though 😄

          • @Captain Yobbo: thankyou for you helping in locating a fix for my flaking mouse. does your prime day sale scream australian bargain. im here for some juicy deals ozzie deals on lube.

  • thanks for your precious time yobbo and your ai recommendations

  • Reviews are not brillant for the cloud III. What's your experience?

    • They're owned by hp now which tells you everything you need to know

      • Bloody hell. No wonder!

Sennheiser, akg, hifiman ,berodynamic, philips, audio-technica
    anything but a gaming headset

  • Got this last time, good but uncomfortable in the heat

  • The cloud ii are awesome. They're made by HP now so I'll be very reluctant to buy the version 3.

Hi, I have seen you mention several times in this deal that hyperX is owned by HP now, and that "that is all we need to know".
Could you please expand your comment? Would be great to know how acquisition of HyperX by HP made this product so undesirable for you. Thanks!

  • My Could II is barely hanging on. Though I hear Cloud III is a downgrade.

  • How does this compare to Logitech Pro X 2?

  • We'll have to find the next budget killer. Turtle beach?

  • Cloud alpha or cloud iii? Not sure which ones better

  • Reminder that HyperX is owned by HP which is on the BDS list :)

    • Bit late to the party, it's been officially Ozbargained.
