  • It asks for a discount coupon or goes back to normal price :(

    Anyone got the coupon code?

I have seen OEM copy of Bitdefender Internet Security 2013 for 5 bucks at Centrecom.

  • I really like the price and I really want this, but on my trial a few months ago, this was really buggy and had update problems. I'm not sure if there's any current users, but do you have to restart for update just about every day still with Bitdefender 2013?

    • I can't remember where I read it, but I remember someone saying that the free trial version needs to be manually updated! Apparently this is not the case with the paid version!!!

And dont forget if you're a Westpac customer you can get IS2013 free for 12 months!
    Here's the link to ambient's post! http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/61390
Or just log in to your Westpac account and click security in the main menu!
edit: Link is over a year old now, but still works!

    • I've tried this over 3 weeks ago but I haven't received the serial yet :(

Inb4 Microsoft Security Essentials is free and better.

Windows Defender is free and better ;)

      • You know this is going to start the same debate that comes up again and again any time that someone posts about deals on IS or AV programs!!!

    • That's what the people infected with Red October said ;)

  • Did anyone click "Buy Now" yet? It needs a discount coupon code or there is no deal.

    • I was only checking it out yesterday and everything was priced at $20.13!
Can't check at the moment though coz IE, edit: and FF, doesnt want to load the page up!!!

I don't believe it's an Australian offer as all the RRPs for all three are wrong for the Australian region. I'm using my VPN and the prices match the US prices BUT when you click buyu now it goes back to retail anyway. If it's an Australian offer, it's broken now anyway, and it probably won't be $19.95

Best coupon code I could find was 70% off with this coupon: 7DCAA1C4

    bitdefender.com shows 19.95
    bitdefender.com.au shows Australian high prices

Neg until price can be attained.

    • Coupon: 7DCAA1C4 get 70% Bitdefender 2013 all product !
      Thanks

  • Can buy Bitdefender Internet Security 2012 on ebay for $10 with free postage. Not sure if it will update to 2013 without issues or not?

MSE is a joke. It failed AV certification twice. IN A ROW.

Get Bitdefender Total Security for $40 for 2yrs/3 PC from pc authority's store.

  • When you sign up it also makes you agree to an auto renewal for next year.
They give you instructions how to not auto-renew, but it is not at all straight forward (deliberate obviously).
The renewal price will be at the RRP not the discounted rate.

    • It's a problem with all Anti-Virus, they screw their current supporter base because they know they will make more money out of renewals than they will from people buying a new license.

  • I've mentioned this web site before - and i'm not affiliated with them in any way. You can get Bitedefender for about AUD 20 normal price from this site,
    http://store.v3.co.uk/?act=search&brand=325

They also sell Kaspersky and others at similar prices.

  • Just find a friend who has a Westac account and once they log in they can enter any email addy to get it free for a year. Several times over.

  • I have bit defender on my laptop and Norton 360 on all my other computers. I hate bitdefender. It never updates and I can't wait till the year runs out and I can get rid of it. Apparently they give you 1 months notice to cancel the renewal.

    • Do you have the '1 year free' version?
If so, I posted above that I'd read somewhere previously that the free version won't update automatically but the full paid version does!
Although I can not confirm this myself!!! Anyone?

Throughout my trial I spent a fair bit of time in the Bitdefender forums (unfortunately). There's a BD rep there called Christian who helped with all the issues. He never said or implied trial version were any different to full versions. It was one download for all and all the tech support he provided was general for everyone.

Based on that I'd say that rumour is untrue.

  • Bitdefender is so-so, the new (free) Comodo Internet Security v6 rocks!

    • +1

Is this personal observation or are you basing this on something?

I'm having trouble finding non affiliated av testing sites that rank Comodo as high overall.
