  • The delivery fee and 50Hz are let down but you can't buy a decent brand FHD TV at this price

    • Out of curiosity; Considering the information available via Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Refresh_rate#Liquid_crystal_dis…) and considering the tech behind LCD's, at what point is the refresh rate too low? Is 50hz really a downer?

I know that for old CRT monitors the refresh rate is very obvious because each time the image is re-drawn the screen is blanked which is why you see screen flicker, but considering LCD just re-draws the image over the top of the old one on each refresh there is no observable flicker.

Also, how much video content is delivered at >50hz? Full HD (1080p) is between 24 - 60hz.

I'm not knocking the comment, just I've only had any real experience with 2 TVs; an expensive 55" Sony which is probably 120hz (and I inevitably get a headache watching it, possibly related) & a cheap Aldi/Bauhn 47" which is probably only 60hz refresh and I haven't noticed any observable image degradation that could be caused by refresh rates.

Deal seems good for brand name TV, lack of Analogue stereo audio output is a no-no for me :(

      • '#hz' is definitely a blunt measure of grading 'motion blur' - buts its still a measure which i alot of people find easy to understand.

In reality this TV probably handles 'motion blur/ghosting' better than a 100hz no name brand.

  • Edit: I have a different model so deleted my comments.
